Pavel Mašek reacted to gt3rs in DJI just slaughtered GoPro with Mavic
It also seems that the Mavic camera has some sort of autofocus based on the spec:
P4: FOV 94° 20 mm (35 mm format equivalent) f/2.8, focus at ∞
Mavic: FOV 78.8° 28 mm (35 mm format equivalent) f/2.2 Distortion < 1.5% Focus from 0.5 m to ∞
This can also cause some difference when comparing the two.
Before a real judgment I would wait from a more in depth review by somebody that knows how to compare cameras and understand all the variable in this process

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA yes sure DJI killed GoPro. When you think GoPro 5 IQ > Phantom 4 and Phantom 4 vs Mavic looks like this (see image). Now I am curious about anyone interested in aerial video/photo buying this shit Maveric VS a Phantom or a Karma. That's an absolute fail.

"4K @ 60Mbps is not good at all, DJI should give an option of selectable bitrate from low to high 100-200Mbps
4K @ 60Mbps is the best the GoPro 5 offers too. Btw, the Sony X1000V and the new Sony X3000 offer 4K @ 100Mbps. And you can also select 60Mbps.

Great work here guys!
If you guys are after the 16-50s, I just wanted to point out that it looks like samsungparts still has some of them.
If you guys remember that dpreview thread with all the lenses being available for cheap from the samsung parts site, some of those deals are still available.
The 16-50s is $800 new. There is no lens hood included, though it can be ordered separately for like $16 if i remember.
This is how I got my 16-50 when this was first brought to light.
Here's the link if anyone wants it
Seemingly sketchy site, but I've bought multiple lenses from them and have had good experiences.

Im currently testing some new settings to get different types of look, will share later
I think this camera shines when you put the 16-50S on it, I've had the 18-35mm Sigma and I dont think its as good as the Samsung lens. I do love the 35mm f1.4 though.

Luca: Sorry, very busy week at work, there's a competition we're participating in so we've been trying to meet those deadlines. I would look now but I don't have have the software for it on the WIndows side of this computer, promise I'll look before I sleep tonight though.
carlic: I'm going to try, that's not a question of funding, merely of my free time, my colleague's, and if we have enough info to pull it off. We finally have the parts to get started but he is sick so I'm not sure if we will take a look tomorrow or put it off until next weekend. If all people need is aperture control, that is a much easier proposition than the full deal and I believe implementation is available online as code for something like an Arduino. I have no intent of doing any manufacturing, if I am successful I will post the code, a full component list, recommended tools, etc... so that others can easily do it themselves. I intend to modify a dumb Canon to NX adapter using contacts from the AF supporting macro extension tubes for both NX and Canon, so a screwdriver, small handsaw, some kind of hotglue or epoxy and those 3 cheap adapters should be all that is needed mechanically. The whole thing should be doable with < 100 USD even if you don't own any of the tools at the start. Miniaturizing components or packing it all neatly into a custom adapter body is a different story, maybe Luca would be interested in that portion if we reach that point. Don't get your hopes too high though, we haven't even really started and it may be quite difficult, we'll see. It's also possible that we face lens by lens challenges, in which case it's not exactly feasible for us to go through every lens on or own, so we would post what lenses it is known to work with and put the code on Github or the like so that others can contribute parameters for their lenses if they figure them out.

thank you so much for the kind words everyone. All i had with me was the nx1 body paired with 16-50s and a very unstable and cheap tripod, had to upgrade it btw cause i missed a lot of shots because of it. Sometime i used the tripod folded as a rig for better camera grip and stabilization. In terms of settings i have used Normal Gamma with sat -5, sharpness -10 and contrast -3. I had MB at plus 9. I did the edit in Final Cut Pro X where i just tweaked the exposure wherever was the case and apply an m31 LUT at 50% and warmed the overall look and feel by a notch. that's all i did. Thank you again for the support and the nice feedback. i put my heart to it and it seems that got to u which makes me proud. cheers.

I had to split up some of my genres (like Fantasy) so they now span multiple pages. This was done in order to improve performance of the site and (hopefully) make hunting for tracks a bit more manageable. If you have any problems finding anything, just let me know.
That said, this week's new tracks are:
“Vast Places” (on the Quiet/Peaceful/Mellow Page)
“They’re Closing In” (on the Dark/Ominous Page)
“Surreal Chase"_Looping (on the Fantasy Page)
“Bedtime Story”_Looping (on the Fantasy Page)
“The Creeping Blob”_Looping (on the Sci-Fi/Space page)
“Security Breach”_Looping (on the Sci-Fi/Space page)

All the best,
Pavel Mašek got a reaction from lucabutera in NX1/NX500 Hack Test Footage
I was curious if in-camera playback will work with high bitrate hacked video. Andrew mentioned in old article ( http://www.eoshd.com/2014/04/nikon-d800-hacked-50mbits-high-bitrate-recording-option/ ) that D800 was not able to playback its own hacked videos.
So I have put Vasile's high bitrate hacked clip to SD card and try to play it in my NX1 ............. and it works without any issues!
So now I am curious how high can we go with bitrate to keep playback working :-)
BTW - ISO in his clip jumps from 400 (brightest parts) to 1250.

Agreed ! I only shared this because I thought maybe the author was referring to this video.
Thanks I actually shot this with the NX1 and a Leica Summilux 50mm (thanks to a very good friend photographer). It's actually a modified NX1 to fit a Leica-M lenses. Regarding the colors it's just a M31 Lut if I remember correctly.
That's my latest work with the NX1 :

Hey luca, I've been absent a while. Could we see two raw files with the same lens (one with your NXL and one with just a glassless adapter). Also, is there space in your current design for pass through electronic pins? I do intend to take a (long) shot at the electronic communication and am wondering if I could work on one of these directly. Waiting still for some parts from China to make my attempt at doing it with a glassless adapter.
Pavel Mašek reacted to Luke Mason in No value of c-log on 1dx2 and 5d4
His speech pattern and body language changed when confronted about the lack of C-log, it clearly suggests elevated stress and anxiety, which implies that he didn't know the actual reason behind the lack of C-log, and he was making up an explanation on the fly in front of the camera.
Pavel Mašek got a reaction from kidzrevil in Petition for Samsung NX1 hack
You should let to know also Andrew (I think it is worth to create article about all this stuff - NX Speedbooster and bitrate hacks too) + let to know other NX users on DPREVIEW ( http://www.dpreview.com/forums/1001 ).
This is really great achievement of you that was partly supported by community NX1 community here on EOSHD. I think it is unique that someone was able to design and create so complicated tool in terms of precision just because of enthusiasm (I think it is unique also for EOSHD as general). Quite funny is that Metabones declared that it is impossible to create something like this becuase of NX flange distance...
