  1. I don't doubt but must tell you it is the less important take to get my attention to ; ) Well, I confess, I love small toys even those called or labeled as PRO to sell or be used for real outcome on set : ) Comes to mind those usual old lists BBC approved, today more prone to have a different name on the customary Netflix approved picks for acquisition : D
  2. This is becoming much more interesting each day... Here's such an irresistible anamorphic route which touches everything... 1.33X Anamorphic Lens adapter (on budget) and no less, some other infinite roads apparently unexpected ones over here... definitely among a few of you : ) No love about these thingies gets you nowhere... if so, I don't know what cinema is anymore, really ; ) - EAG
  3. Rather true... : ) And the price of such camcorder wouldn't end under the $2K mark either ;- )
  4. This is the fine example of a juicy thread ; ) Pity we cannot express all the feelings we have towards what we read. A special mention though to a couple among my favs now @QuickHitRecord@kye despite to never undersestimate the contribution of everyone of you... : ) I think it's one of the flaws here when people tend to neglect any of the voices heard. Every simgle one of you always have something to bring for our lives, so take care of each one of you. Your milestones, presence, daily life, even your beloved ones and part of your being, expressed in your stories posted in these lines, reach some other people here. Maybe not everyone but the ones to count. I believe a bit more of love and compassion for the other one is never enough either. To read this or that had this or that misfortune is something we should meditate about and feel sympathetic pity and concern for the sufferings of others, as well share their achievements and joy with zero envy. As much as possible. Even though how human this flaw is, unfortunately. - EAG
  5. LOL I should also have written "at same time" or my 5 minutes window for editing is not available anymore to express it just fine ; ) BTW I guess we had no more than 1 hour to edit it here before. And short posts as aim are actually the reason for that change today ;- )
  6. I think it's a typical case of that Niels Bohr's quotation set (I | II | III) where both of you can be accurate TBH :- )
  7. EDIT -- I should have written expectations in life instead, rather than something which can be confused by life expectancy... LOL In any case, you get the meaning of that anyway. Numbers speak volumes in fact : ) No need for much else :- )
  8. I know it's not my 1st DLP love nor a LG CineBeam choice of other fellows over here such as @BTM_Pix but the fact is now you can buy it for a third of before when a quarter of century ago was a dream for 64x less resolution to cost 20x more, literally ; ) Which means a difference of 1280x : X Only to those who haven't had the chance to realize how critical the gap has been fulfilled since then... No need to be depressed if life expectations don't meet the standard of your dreams if that's the case of anyone of us to read this : ) Get one for 500 bucks : D and you can only end just fine ;- )
  9. Limitations can help to balance it more with raising the creative side of our own very often ; ) - EAG
  10. Who resists to these small ones? LOL ;- )
  11. To back up another engineering sample of same camera, type of capture device, brand and model already at my own collection arsenal... Impossible to resist :- )
  12. I dunno... I've just invested on a couple of NX500 units bought for US $200 each, my most recent camera purchase ;- )
  13. @herein2020 @FHDcrew well done ; ) congrats guys! - EAG :- ) PS: Mine is a work in progress... : ) Started earlier than 2023, will end later on... (listed on IMDb). Happy New Year to you all!
  14. @PannySVHS yet... As soon as I will have other Android devices in hands I will test the app with, for sure ; ) Those LG (the V50 model for example) you've mentioned look to fulfill the cup on budget though, as for instance in this sample:
  15. Thanks and Merry Christmas to you all and in particular you Marty : ) To reply your wondering, two negative findings have placed me on hold about this one for now so far: reliability and storage limitations of these mobile devices for such hungry memory requirements, at least the few I've tested, among them my mostly used OnePlus 9 Pro... the personal mobile phone of daily usage.
  16. Left my thanks-like above but had no time yet to address a comment I think fully justifies also because he is one of the most valuable contributors in this community and I think it's worthy of it too, so here is now : ) When I've watched this project of Carl Dreyer (here's some meeting with film students to only those who understand Danish though), some former film critic and older fellow from same alma mater/filmschool, programmer from a mainstream network/state TV and responsible for a TV program dedicated to short film on-air for decades (I proudly designed) told me he didn't like it because the Danish filmmaker had repeated shots on this short film paid by the local road safety authorities where seems Dreyer simply made the apology of speed instead for many of the viewers if not all... I stayed with my doubts and still keeping that typical feeling of a masterpiece anyway ; ) Came to my mind now 'cause the use of those cycling sunset shots by @kye towards the refuge staring there in the coast before the upcoming night as epilogue. Why this is film? You play with the one outside beyond the pictures, not only but no less, the time to come*... That's cinema! - EAG * from the material previously organised by the filmmaker there in the film, that's why kye is misleading us ; ) LOL to add some fabrication on it, art is real but also fake and true at same time, the truth of cinema : X this is film, after all ;- )

    24p is outdated

The problem, Glenn aka mercer here, is the absence of notion and understanding what time is for the matter of motion pictures. They never read a few mandatory ones before to even dare to pronounce anything subject-related (and I wouldn't even mention some other contribution already cited earlier here) but they feel themselves entitled to talk about things some other ones devoted their entire life to. "The photographer proceeds, via the intermediary of the lens, to a point where he literally takes a luminous imprint, a cast... [But] the cinema realizes the paradox of moulding itself on the time of the object and of taking the imprint of its duration as well." “Reality is not art, but a realist art is one that can create an integral aesthetic of reality.” "Photography does not create eternity, as art does; it embalms time, rescuing it simply from its proper corruption." ~ André Bazin Here we have a short description on his life and work as well some other thirty quotes/reflexions about this medium as essential food for thought: https://www.bookey.app/quote-author/andre-bazin

    24p is outdated

Funny enough : ) But as much as lies with perception and what this is and means (no less important at all and please don't come to say you haven't understood all these words one after the other), it is all about the concept not the form to be adopted in different stages of the evolution of the progress itself. The point, of you exclusive geeks (I am one but beyond to only be one : ) is the way you diminish the importance of the concepts... :- ) And you then come to me to talk about science?? : D Really?

    24p is outdated

@zlfan with the due respect and pretty friendly... what else? ; ) Please let this community know WTH of shit you're smoking? : D I'm saying this 'cause people respond to you and you insist on the same argument as before like going on circles... LOL You obviously don't read the replies you ask, as a lot of others among us have expressed such concern about so particular world of your own, dude... : P
  20. Henry Ford said on his T-model that any customer could have any color he/she wants so long as it's black... LOL ;- )

The only idiomatic differences you @Jedi Master can claim is the fact the form "to have been" in Portuguese is called "Pretérito Perfeito Composto" which means past and in English "Present Perfect" against the "Present Simple" used by me instead ; ) So, for some reason, I've placed it in the present tense in both idioms ;- )
  22. Emanuel

    24p is outdated

That nuance is nothing about the use of distinct idioms, idiomatic meanings, etc. Nada ; ) Verb tenses work the same in each one of those two. For the sake of it. In this case. I've introduced the word "already" in Portuguese ("já"), that's why the translator placed the verb as I would have written if I had written it in English. In the first version though, no use of such word. I would probably haven't written "the wheel is already invented". Hence the word "already" stayed off. I wanted to lay emphasis on that, reason why I wrote "the wheel is invented" instead. "The wheel has already been invented" is not translated in Portuguese: "A roda já está inventada" (present tense). Nope. That's not what I said in Portuguese. I wrote in the present tense on purpose. You two come here with the bizarre idea 24p is outdated. There's a new future to come. That usual yadda yadda. 24p -- the same applies for the mechanisms which produce the mainstream, both are not the wheel invented in the past tense, something prone to change. No. They are valid yesterday, today and tomorrow. That's the big mistake of such argument :- ) - EAG

    24p is outdated

No, it didn't. What changed there? The word "already" to couple to "the wheel is invented"? LOL That one is the same written earlier in English : ) And from your response, it is easy to see we're talking about different things ; ) Nothing about room for improvement. Art hasn't been invented with the medium of film. It won't be reinvented with the future to come neither. Nothing changes when more people as target are added to the equation. The wider you go or the larger your target is appointed as, the narrower the quality of your content needs to be. To reach more people. Theoretically, the more educated audiences you have, the better outcome your chances are. The more complex and most influential mainstream will become. It's all about that. The point is that's mere food for dreamers. It will hardly be achieved. Low level is not to be pessimist but realist.
