  1. Yes, got you now : ) This is what happens when we (myself) lose scope. To be out of context leads to this lack of perspective from my side as your reader this time. You wrote you were tired, I misread that : )) Thanks for correcting my entry anyways :-) Both, though natures of a different kind obviously, they are not so unrelated as apparently people tend to think in one way or another...
  2. Did not follow the YT video... Only the comments of you all now : ) Obviously DR is not the same raising the ISO bar. What to say then? Discredit, to say the least, right? The other side is the reader's side. Pretty valuable BTW ; ) And if you edit your post without giving notice to the other side, well, that's unfair game :D my dear fellow ;-)
  3. Ah... on that one, yes indeed. Bit rate can perform a play part, obviously. That one is pretty inaccurate from the reviewer side. For some reason GH5S dual ISO is paramount. Just read the whole thread now :-)
  4. So, "more than secondary, subjective scope is even less than that"... I dare to understand from there. Really? Jon, take a look on your previous input we already know on topic (I guess you didn't change your mind...) versus Andrew's now as for instance following this post of yours. Subjectivity means there's no superior judgment anywhere. Better than saying the other side is wrong, I guess. Far away to be silly instead. As much as no people should address personal attacks in these boards as well. People should have their chance to express their own opinions, isn't it? Actually, it is what that subjectivity is all about, let consensus flow for once here at least ; ) Let alone this holiday season, go figure. Makes me truly unhappy and should make somehow part of a rest of goodwill left inside any of us. The same when you are the target. Happy Easter to all! Oh yes, that XH-1 (I think my sins are forgiven now because I let the X-T2 in the shop shelves :D) along the GH5S make my days beyond the season (E :-)

  6. Seems ergonomics is actually as much as subjective me and others had referred about after all... ; ) The same for SOOC outcome too where Eterna does shine indeed; not even need to apply for Fuji's color science paradigm, I'd dare to add now for the nth time... not always too much though for a few incomprehensible voices of hate here :X No matter how long the usual suspects have claimed against, isn't it? ;-)
  7. Sigma 18-35mm f/1.8 (or the plain FF 24-35mm f/2.0 in a much tight range as 2nd thought if you want to get rid of vignetting in all extension, even though this won't be much of a problem along video crop format especially if you'll avoid the wide end going with the XL version; no issues whatsoever with the Ultra version) will give you the focal length you're looking for. It is the best bang for the buck you'll even find nowadays, no other glass offers you the same. Hope this helps, E :-)
  8. I'm afraid they would even charge much more if they would call it Mini-Eva... LOL So, GH5S is not actually a bad denomination choice to state it quite frankly and pretty straightforward. I am personally done with smartass manoeuvres from business players trying their best to go and get deeper from my indie pocket. Nuff said, Panasonic is usually a decent brand. Even though, that premium fee is not the best signal under such policy. IMHO that's a business mistake. So, in this perspective because 2500 bucks for this outstanding machine it is still a bargain anyways, I am really not surprised with the clientele reaction on GH5S sales. With IBIS, focus hack results (AF mantra has been a sales distaster IMNSHO) or changing contrast AF with DFD technology for a most accurate autofocus proposal indeed and the same price of GH5, this camera would be a terrifying hit, count on it : ) In any case, it is the best cinema camera out there for the price, no doubts on it. If you can only buy one, buy this toy and you won't have buyer remorse at all but a purchase which will heedfully convert in your utmost investment to date. Dare yourself and you'll see the real meaning of this statement, not only virtual words somehow addressed in any tech forum ;-) Don's fully right... This cinematic device is the best tool available nowadays to shoot a feature with. At this price range and hybrid (I'd rather call GH5S 'handy' : D instead) class ride. E :-)
  9. The most curious note IMHO is the fact we feel much difference between both realms than going with the GH5, actually. Eterna is a charm though.
  10. Guys, please stop :X Let the thread go back to the right track, OK? (to be sincere, playground is more than enough, as well the leftover going along with extra downvotes polluting other threads too... thanks for your understanding : )
  11. Filippo's piece of art is enough to testify how this camera is going further and actually truly far away to be a crash cam or anything similar. Let's give outsiders a proper break, put the feet on earth because sky rocket that outcome already is :-)
  12. @webrunner5 It is a miracle, you've perfectly nailed it with your American English, but don't blame the Fuji device, buddy! People kill people, not the tools ; ) I don't think people see Fuji's as their savior in any way other than as matching their tiny agendas by their inner own. On the other hand, Fuji has no high-end to protect other than their medium p-h-o-t-o-g-r-a-p-h-y format. A feature takes ages to comply. We live in hurry times. People have no time to read, why should they have time to go beyond easy LUTs? :-D Ditto & Amen : ) Don't forget Panasonic brand is known by their innovation and prosumer approach, extending their high-end abilities to their minor offer if we can call it so :X
  13. Of course, without mention at this stage of technology, it is the user obviously not the device the responsible for the ultimate outcome : ) As well, I guess no one in their best judgement will choose Fuji over Panasonic at first hand for ENG or sports as for instance in that couple of examples mentioned anyways. No matter how good Fuji color science will start from. Let it be now as second thought for a different scope under those film emulations not every camera manufacturer is able to provide straight out the box. The finest example, more than the typical Eterna LUT everyone is able to quote, is yet the monochromatic domain; where and when other camera suppliers are unlikely there IMNSHO. Fuji B&W shooters know very well what I'm referring to. Well, as matter of fact, not only them, so good try for RED when they did really try to raise that bar. Hey, with a whole dedicated camera sensor approach to begin with, though. Go figure. That's actually the point. You can mimic any look as you wish. But your choice can exactly stand where your tool will offer closer to what you're looking for. And, no more no less, interested to pay for. That's why this SOOC subject's reasoning may not reach only one side of the equation or coexist beyond the objectivity realm or even the consensus intended. I'd doubtedly be surrounded by certainty other than on three, two would choose one SOOC. Being Fuji the one for that matter, as my best fair bet (E :-)
  14. Horses for courses, Don... ; ) They are not the same thing. SOOC is a wholly different story, just to begin with. Neither XH1 beats 10bit 4:2:2 nor 4K60p... let alone the dual ISO per se, so... :-)
  15. Let's give 2nd look on that test a chance... People generally have that idea. Banding depends on the bit depth. That test leads to a bit different path though. Actually, it is even beyond color sampling, also bit rate. That is, not only bit depth. Practice redefines theory much often to keep going to ignore the evidence : ) Mark's @markr041 posts hinted it all :-)
  16. Color-wise SOOC, we know the beat... : D Now a different story as far as RS concerns ;-)
  17. Hope not, but this has been a real issue on small size form factor; no matter how much I appreciate that ; ) This time is not color science related :-D As disclaimer, Sony was my 1st video love to follow Super 8 BTW, so maybe handheld is one of weaknesses I guess LOL :-)
  18. Indeed interesting to figure out the camera AF response in a mix of both manual and autofocus handling for tap-to-focus technique in the field usage.
  19. Yes, SOOC is not a minus... My fair doubt on overheating issues on Sony 4K side though.
  20. @Kisaha I agree with you. But please let's not compare color science between manufacturers! IMNSO people tend to understate this important aspect of making pictures. Just sayin' : ) FF look or similar is nothing but also a full combination of lots of aspects, optics included. Add an inexpensive f/0.95 Mitakon, only as an example, and you'll have it on APS-C format as you well know it :-)
  21. Low bit rate will invariably offer banding.
  22. Good luck to those guys going along the A7III... LOL :-)
  23. Kudos to @Andrew Reid for his achievement to have created the most interesting web corner as far as tools on hybrid realm concerns! I firmly believe this is the present and future of the pictures in general and this forum has hinted this well beyond the time in a way truly visionary and revolutionary platform: revolution is not only to launch the tools, also to think them! Users make them too, no doubts there. With about 0.85% contribution for the whole of it : D allow me to this expressive jollification IMNSO. Cheers, E :-)
