  1. That needs 8ms read out speed, which is in stacked territory. I'm not saying its impossible, but very unlikely.
  2. If rumors are based on the real thing, body and controls will be a big step up. The problem they always have is the sensor. A new sensor, that will be only used in one body, would be very expensive, since volume is not that much. Hence the shared sensor between Z9 and Z8. Unless they find another high volume use for that new sensor.
  3. Nikon is always conservative in specs, and they never do double jumps like 4k30 to 4k120p.
  4. Ok we got the first sign of the hammer working, in new set of rumored spec: no 6k raw, at least internally 24.5 million pixels sensor Duo EXPEED 7 processors ISO 100-64,000 9 subjects detection AF(same as Z9) 310 single-point AF IBIS 6k30p, 4k120p N-Log/HLG internal video recording CFepress-B/XQC+SD card No N-Raw Better cooling design Something is lost in translation in that "Duo" word.
  5. There are more stubborn seniors in their professional/broadcast business. May god help the consumer Imaging department.
  6. Whats the point of wider profile when read out is still done at 12bit?
  7. They can increase the resolution of Z7 to something like 90MP. But very few people need or want that resolution. Its good for two weeks of frenzy press-review YouTube videos with 😱 thumbnails, but I doubt it sells well long term.
  8. I hope Nikon doesn't use cripple hammer of its own on this one A fast non stacked 6k sensor that doesn't show noise downsides of stacked, plus internal raw, with Zf IBIS, and Z8 AF, in a semi pro body, will be dream camera for many who can't afford $4k-6k flagships. Actually you can have two of this with the price of one Z9, if you don't need 8k.
  9. The problem with IBIS is they're made for still as a priority. Nikon optical VR+IBIS is so good in still shooting that looks like cheating. But video, especially walking situation, is totally different story.
  10. There are some physics involved about how shorter it can be. Most flash brands don't even report t0.1 number in their spec sheet, they know it doesn't look good.
  11. Its flash on hot shoe. Using any wireless system limits the speed to 1/500s.
  12. IF TRUE. This rumor is weird. Its like a wishlist by someone who saw A9III commercials, and at the same time its like the source knows the limitations of the Z9 sensor. Its like the guy is half troll half legit.
  13. At that bulk and weight level, why not use an APSC camera?
  14. Making houses with wood was also based on limitations in other construction materials at the time, as they were either hard to supply or supplied expensively. Today there is almost no limitations and concrete is cheap, but wood is still prefered because its environment friendly. Just because something is old, it doesn't mean it will be replaced with the new. 24p became a standard because it was the cheapest way to do motion picture. But it also replicates dreaming. I don't know about you by my dreams look like anything other than what I see on ESPN.
  15. Thanks to you guys I don't click on YouTube links to consume 15 minutes of bad journalism. I'm deeply grateful.
  16. Its was not like they host those videos and can't pay the bills. Maybe was about copyright issues. For any reason its ridiculous to delete a part of history overnight like its your draft folder.
  17. You don't need the upper part, its A7siii.
  18. How they're supposed to shoot a PR video with a camera that is not in production yet?
  19. As a Nikon user you really need to follow these two men on YouTube: Hudson Henry and Steve Perry. They're wildlife photographers 99% of the time, and don't shoot video a lot, but they have a tone of info to offer about how your camera works.
  20. ISO 12800 images looks like shot by a 50mp sensor, not a 24mp one. However these are still raws. Noise impact in video will be worse due to heat.
  21. I read the article when it was published. The whole story is a practical evidence for the fact that High Turbo Super Burst, is not a solution.
  22. Please show a footage from any of these examples, shot by Venice 2 or even Z9/Z8 or even A1, that shows RS distortion.
  23. The shutter speed in that shot is very high. Lets say you need 1/8000s to freeze such a movement. Even at 120 fps, you get only 120/8000 of a second, or 1/60 of a second. For 59/60 of a second, your camera is blind. Still its YOU that should know when to press the shutter button.
  24. I think newer AI tech is adding stuff to the data. Its like tracing the moving part, and "guess" how it would look like if it weren't where it is.
  25. Whats the "real" benefit for cinematography? With conventional stacked sensor, there is no distortion even in wild panning, like Venice 2 with its 3ms read out speed. Alexa35 has "useable" 15 stop of DR. Thats where DPs see the benefit.
