Hi guys, FilmConvert here. Just wanted to let you know we've heard the feedback about some redness in the NX1 profile. We're doing some more QA here, and may release a new version of the profile shortly.

I got a Nikon Nikkor 50mm f/1.4 Ai in the mail today, and I love it. I tried it out on my T2i along with Magic Lantern and Visioncolor CineLook, and I'm loving this combination (graded with FilmConvert). I'm sure everyone already knows this/has posted about it, but this lens really is sharp at f/1.4 (which is the aperture of these grabs). I'm liking the 28mm 2.8 Ai as well:

I don't think we should be worried about the electronic part yet. Let the man do his magic  A regular dumb speedbooster with iris control for nikon would be magical at this point. Eventually an electronic adapter will be built on its own and then the two can be fused together later on.

At first he told me (see previous post), but since then nothing. I also tried to contact him privately on dpreview.com but even there he did not answer. I continue with my work, however, it goes very well, I hope to have a pre-set ready by the beginning of August for the NX-Nikon adapter system, which, in addition to providing me different information on the operation of SB lenses, it is cheap compared to an intelligent system.
I can say with certainty is that the system is very sharp, and coupled with fast lens offers a beautiful Boke.

Another quick test (this is one of the first test) the lens still is not perfectly aligned, and this creates a little blur in the lower part.
Nevertheless, it also corrects distortion, behaving in the opposite way to the way a wide angle.
Also, you can see the brightness gain of 1 stop in dark areas.

Thank you Lucabutera, I will definitely fund a fundraiser for that adapter, Nikon mount probably the best mount ever invented, its so universal.
It would been cool if some of the people who tried working on an electronic Canon adapter for NX would join in the project if they are still around.

Wall test. 

nx-patch v5.3 is out. One point of interest to videographers: killall switch added which basically returns camera to factory settings (until battery pull) EXCEPT for the already set bitrates. Pull battery to reactivate mod UI.

Better wait a bit, most likely a new version out tomorrow. 

I have the 16-50 S and 16-50 PZ lenses. The S lens stays in manual mode, so it is possible for this to happen. It is very annoying on the PZ to have to keep switching it.

Someone know if with hacks it possible to set manual focus in video mode, without setting it every times?

I guess you have to rethink this. the camera doesn't actually encode 120 frames per second. it encodes 30 frames (my tests showed it's probably 25 frames) in one second of realtime. once it finished (or more probably also while) recording it tells the container that this, say 1000 frames, should be played back at 120f/s. which makes it basically really fast -> timelapse. camera didn't have to do any more work than in 30p.

We should make a first post summary cause I'm so confused... I lost track who is who and what are the difference between hacks.

I would rather not take sides. I support what both of you are working on and at this point they are quite different mods that appeal to different peoples needs. Vasile is working on a lean and clean mod with only a few features(right now its just bit-rate) and Kinoseed is working on squeezing as much as possible out of these two amazing cameras (witch to date has been amazing what he has been able to get out of them).
Having said that It doesn't really matter what bill gates stole from Steve jobs or what Steve stole from bill gates they both have two different products for two different demographics. Besides I would hope that if someone comes up with a better way of doing something or something super useful the other would use it as well. You guys are both publishing as open source don't forget. 
Full disclosure, All I really care about at this time is the bit-rate hack so I am leaning towards vasile's stripped down mod at this point in time but I really like what kinoseed is doing as well. As stated above my preference would be a world were everyone could get along and work together to exchanging ideas, even if they are working on separate projects/mods. unfortunately I know that is not really the world we live in  .

To play devil's advocate... They probably don't want a bunch of bricked cameras to deal with, customer service wise. Also, the hack may have alerted them to security issues that could lead competitors to see their code and ideas.

As I posted earlier, no exposure shifts with a constant-aperture Nikkor zoom on the NX1.

It happens with all variable aperture electronic lenses, doesn't matter what camera. My tamron 17-50 2.8 doesn't do this, because it has a constant aperture (physically it could be called variable opening since at 50mm opening needs to be wider than at 17mm, to be at F2.8 like MountneerMan wrote). You could think - Ok, I'll just close the aperture to F2.8 (samsung 16-50 lens) and exposure shouldn't change, but it has to adjust the aperture from fully open @ 50mm, to 1 stop closed at 16mm. It cannot adjust the aperture smoothly, that's why there are jumps in exposure at those moments when it opens or closes the aperture. Try opening the lens to 2.0 and then detach the lens (just turn a bit so it doesn't have electronic contact), you should see no exposure jumps, just a smooth 1 stop transition while zooming. Then again, zooming from 16 to 50 with the lens attached correctly and aperture set to 2.0 in the wide end, there also should be no jumps in exposur. But a quick test on my 18-200 F3.5 - F6.3 showed that there are slight jumps, but far less noticeable than if I set the aperture to F6.3 at the wide end.

Is it possibile to see this NR difference between nx500 and nx1 somehow on the same scene?I didn't spot this difference.
