  1. No mic input, just audio monitoring on this unit.
  2. I was disappointed too when first videos appears online. Though I really enjoyed my E-M5 but now i need to move on, i'm using a a7s and pushing the buy button for the NX1, i thinking that i gonna pass on M4/3 from now on.
  3. I'm pretty sure that must be user fault, leaving auto iso or Dynamic range plus or whatever is called in Samsung terms.
  4. What if panasonic comes with a ASPC sensor on a 4/3 mount camera?
  5. For me the only downside of the NX500 is the lack of viewfinder, that kills me
  6. Sadly the video of the A7 is lower in quality against the a6000, the image on the a7/r/II it lack of details and suffer of moire and aliasing problems. The only A7 to use in video is the a7s by a mile.
  7. Is really nice to see the improvements on the E-M5II but, what about sensor reading for video? audio input and earphone? manual audio controls? battery life improvement on video recording?.
  8. This video have some of the most beautiful images coming from the a7s.
  9. Preorder at $799.99 B&H Photo http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1113930-REG/samsung_ev_nx500zbmius_nx500_mirrorless_digital_camera.html/BI/6943/KBID/7492
  10. I have high hpes for a new body design, Sony must left behind those miniaturization ideas, at least on pro-consumer camerascameras, allowing a better colling system.
  11. Th new Sony PXW-X70 is a very good camera with a 1" sensor ($2300) or a used Sony FS100 with a s35 sensor ($2000 or less)
  12. A new firmware version has been released improving the stabilisation performance.
  13. The best practice is to use a subtitle software software as Subtitle Workshop (windows) or Jubler (Mac) both free, then you can export your subtitles to almost any format available. How will be distributed your feature film? because I think Vimeo don´t use Close Captions as YouTube. If will be released on DVD or BluRay then you can make the authoring with Adobe Encore (CS6 was the last version). Good luck.
  14. If you already have a a35, give to the a77MKII a try, now with the Xavc-s codec. .
  15. A new Premiere Pro CC is coming very soon, don´t know if H2.65 will be included.
  16. My vote is for the GH3. -No limit on the recording time: it just limited by the card space -Audio monitoring tools:Levels, audio in, earphone output. -No overheat. -Good video quality. -Little Moire and aliasing. -Very efficient battery life. -Robust body.
  17. I like the Ursa because 80% of my work is for digital compositing, mainly green screen shots and obviously under studio conditions, and the Ursa is a great for just take of the bag, put on a tripod and turn on. The Blackmagic production camera also can work but the Ursa is a more complete package for not much more but with much more weight.
  18. I really like the Ursa, i´m sure it works perfectly for wildlife footage (size and weight aside), another option could be the Sony FS7.
  19. i hope the jitter effect it can be fixable through firmware.
  20. The Gh4 is my workhorse camera, is very easy to use, the battery keep running for a long time, many video recording options, long recording time, in camera 4k recording. Is a great camera for almost any situation. The a7s has a much lovely image, greater dynamic range, cleaner image at high iso. Is the camera i use when want to create a more artistic aproach, and a is a great photo camera too.
  21. The GH4 is the best bet a this price point, the NX1 it looks like have a nice image, but still a very immature system, the A7s is a little expensive but with a beautiful image. Yes the a7II has not been released yet, just comment on this because I owned a E-M1 and this new a7II is a nice replacement mainly for photo, but for video the obvious choices are the Gh4 or the a7s, i have both and are a pleasure to work with.
  22. The new Sony a7II is almost like a E-M1 but with a full frame sensor, audio monitoring options, improved video codec, 60fps recording and clean HDMI output. Not a GH4 or a7s replacement but is better than the Olympus in video at least.
  23. You should give a look to the Lumix LX100, have a bigger sensor, 4K recording, fast and stabilised zoom lens, 60fps at 1080p.
