  1. Almost all this annoyances can be fixed with firmware update, maybe you don't use it but audio level is important too and is missed from the BMPCC. We need to someone, maybe Blackmagic itself can bring some sort of battery grip like the DSLR cameras have for extend the battery life with a bigger battery and replaceable.
  2. Here's a video sample (at botton of the page), very good indeed. http://www.photographyblog.com/previews/olympus_om_d_e_m1_photos/
  3. HDMI live view clean and uncompressed is a no-no on the M1? Great photo camera by the way, i own the M5 and this is a great evolution of a great camera, is sad the video specs.
  4. I just sold my Nex 5n too! and now my most used camera is the Olympus OM-D, is a great camera for photos; could be great for video but the quality of the video is not good enough, the 5-axis IBIS is just fantastic, i own a GH3 too mostly for video work, but another good camera are the Lumix G6 and of course the GX7. I'm still keeping a eye on the Nex 7 successor.
  5. It's look like he using a CheeseBridge on the 15mm rails system, like this: http://www.genustech.tv/collections/camera-cheese-plates/products/genus-cheese-bridge-15mm   And mounting the camera on the Shoe adapter of the Sony CLM-V55 (i wish this to be sold apart): http://cdn.slashgear.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/01/CLM-V55_A55_2.jpg
  6. All depends of what do you care about more? Sensor size or best all around features? With that budget you best bet is the GH3.
  7. To me is obviously a pre-production model, and why not?, maybe this leak is a viral strategic, this info has been the video/photo news of the day ;)   One thing to notice from the video, when the camera is tested for stabilization, what they are using is a video monitor, so? it's looks like live view is enabled, maybe video options has been upgraded some how, thing that i really hope for because i really like to use my OM-D, and also have some 4/3 lenses.
  8. Or just clean hdmi live output.
  9. I own the Oly 14-54mm and the 50-200mm to use on the OM-D and GH3, and i really like it, many can argue that the Olys 4/3 are too big for the Pocket Cinema, is true, but mainly on handheld work is where this can be a issue. I usually work with tripod or Monopod and live in a country where a more expensive technology could leave you to a personal risk, is there where the Pocket Cinema shines for me, good quality and a very affordable price, no need of expensive batteries or recording media, here in Venezuela the 1080p still using diapers. I do work for others countries too and 2.5k wasn't necessary yet, for when this became the norm, the Cinema Pocket will be 4k ;)
  10. I prefer stabilization over peaking any day but if i can have booth i will not get mad.   Wish for the GX7 come with at least the 50mbit codec of the GH3 and some kind of stabilization like the OM-D would be a a hell of the camera if the sensor have at least the GH3 dynamic range, and if more? much better.   I really like the rotating viewfinder, this is something i like from the Nex 5n EVF. Right now i'm considering the GH3 but i'm very tempting by the BMCPC, because i work mostly in video compositing and animation and the video from the Blackmagic is a bless for a nice chromakey work, but the GH3 still more versatile.
  11. Is good to see the improvements of the G6 over the G5, but i think the Nikon D5200 still a better option in that price range (body only). D5200 over G6: -Low light performance. -APSC sensor -24Mbit -Live Hdmi output G6 over the D5200: -Size -1080p @60fps -Video assists (Peaking, Zebras) -$50 cheaper
  12. Hi Andrew! great review as usual. Questions, how is the HDMI output? can be live monitored? i guess is not clean right? Thanks and keep the good work.
  13. Someone knows if the Canon 3-10mm for XL camcorders can works with the BMPC? Cheers.
  14. Amen of the No Anti-aliasing Filter on the D7100; this detail alone could help to improve even more a RAW video coming from this camera... I guess.
  15. Well, certainly I cannot say I like. The heat go up in your desktop at 10" i don't know. I'm a long time Mac Pro user but for me this is a Mac Mini Pro, but certainly i prefer this to a Imac.   My two cents   Pd: this afternoon i see a video at Engadget where some dude is showing the Mac Pro in a crystal cylinder, and some employed cross behind with two big chrome ashtrays and look keep looking the Endgadget guy, very ironic moment.
  16. I'm not a Canon user, but i'm and very enthusiastic with the RAW news on this cameras, my question is (sorry for my ignorance) The ML is available or will be for the Canon 6D?. How expect to perform? Good luck to the Magic lantern team.

    NEX For Video?

I have two videos with the Nex 5n https://vimeo.com/63031916 https://vimeo.com/37920172
  18. That was fast! With a retail price close to $249 a new E-mount adapter with similar characteristics to the Metabones SpeedBooster has been announced by the Chinesse manufacter Mitakon, called the "Lens Turbo" is a dumb adapter without any electronic connection.   Already working with Canon FD and Pentax lenses we hope for to come. Have a very similar reduction as the Metabones but till now we don't know how good the cristal of the lens will be.   Source with samples: http://forum.xitek.com/thread-1151810-1-1-2.html
  19. My two thumbs up for the GH3: Good IQ, 60p option, Nice build, great codec, good audio options with earphone, excellent lens choice.   Pd:Opinion coming from a Nex user ;)
  20. To me the e-mount have a very robust build,  have put a Nikon 80-200 lens obvoisuly with len support, also my camera usually have the 35-105 Canon FD lens and the Tokina 28-80mm on it, no problems so far. My Nex 5n:
  21. This Pocket camera is what supossed to do Sony with a Nex video camera. Gorgeus, that's my next camera.
