Great article. Very educational. Didn't even realise Phantom did 1,300fps in 2.35:1 2K mode, the highest I have seen from it has been 600fps. Agree with him that getting noticed and putting money into a production is more important than blowing it all on a $20k or even $100k camera. What is great about DSLRs is that you can invest more in the things that actually matter (and your lens family of course :) )

[/quote] Yes, it is not a complete disaster. It may even offer the best image quality (for stills) of any camera of its size currently on the market. It would, though, take you 30 seconds of fiddling with the touch screen before you can take any photos. :-) Same size camera with a proper shutter speed dial, jog wheel and 2012 sensor and they have a winner.

Wow, I would love to, but my freelance video gig hasn't been successful enough for me to swing ~$1000 on the housing. I know it would be a huge boon to my setup, but unfortunately my experimentation with the 5N has been driven by the price/performance ratio. You did mention in the preliminary guide that you're looking into an external audio input for the accessory port, which I would also be greatly interested in. I think your work holds a lot of promise so I'll be following Compact Cine Systems closely. Wish I could be a venture capitalist and fund the projects, but as a cash-poor but ambition-rich filmmaker, I'll have to be a well-wisher that can support when I can. All the best.
