zerocool22
Hi, Any youtubers with good editing advice for fast cut edting. I think I need to step up my editing game to the fast social media age to grab attention fast. I don't like shooting vertical video either, but that seems to be the trend for instagram/tiktok these days. I have not looked into this much really, but their might be some good tips out there for vertical video also that I am unaware off. Thanks! Snowfun Posted yesterday at 02:14 PM Share Posted yesterday at 02:14 PM I think the best approach here is to analyse what you like and try to replicate it. Once we begin to understand why we like something about an edit the process is much easier. Much more fun than trawling through endless tutorials explaining how to do stuff you don’t even like…

I rather enjoy the images but thats just me.
fuzzynormal
The best practice for trying to hone a craft is to find something youre impressed with, deconstruct it, and then rebuild it yourself. Learn to walk before you fly. Editing is relatively easy but it's tedium too. Discover if it's what you want to do by doing it. If you make something decent and compelling you'll know by the end of the process if it's something you want to go through again.

That would be and has been my approach and adding my own stamp to it.
Snowfun
I thought this was interesting: https://www.filmsupply.com/articles/j-cut-vs-l-cut/ Helps to understand the relationship between audio and video and how each engages the audience.
