Hey there,
I was looking for some cheap/good (cliche) follow focus. What do you think?

If you are looking for a cheap follow focus...

http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00JH0GHYM/ref=mp_s_a_1_23?qid=1428066149&sr=8-23&pi=AC_SX110_SY165_QL70&keywords=focus+lever

It works for me every time. But if you want to get fancy...

You can mark your focus points with this one.

Impossible to know without using it. Build quality is impossible to tell from a picture. Standard amount of play also impossible to tell. I've used $800 follow focusses that exhibit way too much play.

The O'Connor O-Focus Is $2300 and barely worth even touching. EVen the CFF1 ($4500) is not too great.

Depends, I guess - are you going to have your ACs pulling on this FF?

Nah, it's only me for now at least for near future. Just looking for something run and gun documentary type shooting, but with hope that will use it on more high end commercial work.
It has very little reviews online, new product maybe and made in Turkey from my understanding.

I have the S5 and for the price, it's an amazing product. I've been following that BMCUSER thread for some time. Eventually I decided to take a chance after some high praises. The build quality is solid, but most importantly, there's no play. Even though the company is in Turkey, they're pretty good with customer service and shipping. Some people complain about the focus knob being a little too small, which I sort of agree. It is a tad bit smaller than my other FF, but overall I'm very satisfied with it.

Here's a review by Vic Harris (the BMCuser who started that thread and suggested it to everybody): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lccIGoFRkK0

I've been following that BMCuser thread as well. The Lensse S5 looks interesting, but is less appealing if you're not working with camera assistants. I generally always pull focus from one side so don't need the extra bulk/weight.

I recently purchased the Fotga DP500 IIS after watching this review (and several others). Mine just arrived a few days ago. I couldn't be happier with the build quality, lack of play, and feature set. All at a great price. It doesn't have a reverse gear, but I don't shoot Nikon lenses, so it's not a concern. If you're interested, be sure to watch this video which talks about the differences between the Fotga models.
