  1. I want to get everyone's opinion on this. Should I buy anamorphic lens or a dog schidt lens w/ the oval aperture? I'm wondering why people still go crazy on ebay for anamorphic lens when you can get the dog schidt lens with the option of a 1.5x or 2x oval apeture and is single focus. Essentially, both the anamorphic and DSO lens produce the same results as far as oval bokeh and flares, I would think. Is there something I'm missing? You would think that people would go with the DSO lens option as opposed to anamorphic lens seeing as how anamorphic lens require more such as double focus, clamps and other addition things to make them work properly. So, do anamorphic lens have more desirable characteristics (other then the whole crop/squeeze factor) then the DSO lens that I don't know about?
  2. Shot over the past few years when we go home to Salisbury NB. This is down by the river where the children play. WE have such a good time hanging out with friends and family here. Big thanks to everyone who comes out to see us while we are home. Shot on the Nikon D800 and D4 with the Dog Schidt Optiks FF58 Q1.5 Amber lens, Iscorama 1.5X anamorphic and other Nikkor lenses.
  3. This is shot using the D800, DSO Trump FF58 with Oval aperture, the new flare sex filter and towards the end the Iscorama 1.5X anamorphic lens mounted inside the Trump for a 2X oval bokeh.   https://vimeo.com/76912854   Some images of the trump I'll grab one with the iscorama in there too.
  4. I was out testing my two Dog Schidt Optiks lenses in Stockholm, and found two guys playing on a street and decided to shoot them:   https://vimeo.com/75661923   I have two FF58's: one low contrast +  more flares and amber tone, and one with a bit more contrast but with less flaring and neutral tone. This is shot with the one that flares less.   Footage is a bit shaky, all I had for stabilizing the camera was a minitripod, Velbon Ultra Maxi Mini: http://t2.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcQ4mZLVSi-Cl4d8xdloHiWpLyIjGvb5EBnbDU5Eg0LuG1WLfmX-JA   Having the weight of the tripod and a bit more to hold on to helps a bit, but not much.
  5. Here is a short clip from last night, just hanging out down by the river with this massive swing my father put in. Love it down there, bonfires, drinks, nature, swings over the water.   https://vimeo.com/72460915
  6. Hi All, I just finished a big review of the Flare Factory 58 lenses from Dog Schidt Optics. You can read the full review here http://www.robbannister.com/blog/   The mandatory cat test was shot with the Neutral FF58 and the iscorama and the other video with the Amber FF58 is not with the anamorphic because I had sent it off for the close focus mod. Though the Amber version pairs really well with the iscorama and you can see a small sample of that at the end with the car.   https://vimeo.com/67975230   https://vimeo.com/69262934   straight out of the camera no CC, password: radioactive https://vimeo.com/68393006
