  1. Excited to hear your results.
  2. It is helpful that all the editing skills I learned in resolve are transferable to premiere. I’m finding the switch fairly easy so far. Just a bunch of googling on “how to do *resolve_edit_button* in premiere”
  3. Good stuff Kye 😂 I’ve sent you an invitation to attend the funeral of Mr. Resolve Workflow 😂 JK…but yeah I mean I’m glad I started in resolve, because it’s how I learned the foundation of my color grading skills (however much they may be lacking lol). Had I started in premiere I most likely would not have learned to color in resolve. One thing I’m doing is remapping the premiere shortcuts to what I’m used to in resolve, to take advantage of the muscle memory I’ve already built up. Do you think it is worthwhile to learn the default premiere keys, instead of remapping to what i am used to?
  4. Looks like I’ve reached the point where premiere will be a necessity for some work I do 😞 So now I gotta break away from resolve a bit and start learning premiere. I’ll still color in resolve, though this exposure technique first mentioned in this thread will be very useful for quick grades in premiere. Honestly with this, along with turning CST into a LUT, I could probably replicate my grading process in premiere. I don’t do any complex grades, I simply like the organization and behavior of the tools available in resolve.
  5. Good point, “side grading” to a camera like that is a good idea. Or even a Panasonic s5 if I still want goodies like IBIS. I guess I wanted to see what I can do with what I already have, instead of have to sell a lot of my gear and go through that hassle.
  6. Possibly. Either way definitely exciting. I’d love myself an R5 right now. Just don’t have the funds. Then again we’ve reached diminishing returns; my Nikon Z6/Ninja V combo is doing just fine 🙂
  7. The R5 just became the worlds best camera
  8. Another one of the “OMG Canon vs Sony DJI RS5327 cinema lut pack matti special sponsored by square space why aren’t you subscribed” videos. Sickening.
  9. Yes if you check it out let me know how it goes!!
  10. *40mm 4mm doesn’t exist for FF…lol
  11. Good point, I could get a small pancake prime like the Nikon 4mm F2
  12. Did they make any weight difference?
  13. Haha! Isn’t that the reality we face 😆
  14. Good idea. I don’t see any NPF330 batteries. Any tiny batteries that might work? Smaller than the NPF 550? Could it be possible to power the monitor with the camera battery? I know battery life would be poor, but things would be light.
  15. I’m still very intrigued by the Canon 70D. That organic ML RAW image, but with DPAF.
  16. Yeah the EOS M is a beast. If someone ever stole my camera and I needed an emergency dirt cheap replacement it would probably be one of these ML cameras, EOS M or 5d II 🤣
  17. Any ideas on making the ninja v as utterly light as possible? Lightest I can achieve is using the smaller NPF-550 batteries, along with the Andycine lunchbox, a DIY half-SSD for the ninja v. Are there any even smaller lighter batteries? I don’t care if the battery life is not very good. Basically, any ideas as to how we can achieve maximum lightness with this setup? While maintaining record capability?
  18. Thanks, yeah it doesn’t seem to be any better. It’s just *different*
  19. Are there really any FOSS solutions superior to BGM v2? I know there is RVM but I feel if you can get that clean plate, BGM V2 is better.
  20. This is somewhat off topic but the software has been mentioned here. I want to use Background Matting V2 professionally; it is very impressive. Essentially it used AI to perform rotoscoping of a subject, allowing you to “green screen without a green screen.” My concern however is privacy. The successor to this project, Robust Video Matting, has the following on its GitHub page: that it was developed at ByteDance Inc. I know this company owns TikTok and are known for storing user data on Chinese servers. My question is, is background matting v2 safe to use? I mean the developers seem like fine people, but the lead developer worked at ByteDance for a while, and just seeing that text I’m the GitHub description I guess got me a little worried. Should I be concerned?https://github.com/PeterL1n/BackgroundMattingV2 https://github.com/PeterL1n/RobustVideoMatting

  22. Was the sharpening decrease on the GH5 substantial? I’m hoping so.
