right now i am finding difficult the use of the command dial , as it seems they change use changing other parameter, seems complex to get it undertang properly

2 questions which i still havent properly looked at in the manual

the F setting, till now is adjusted only through the lens, a part when it automatically change in auto or shutter priority. Is it F assignable in som way?

Lookks like zooming is not motorized, right?

also a question about focus assist. I have set a red color for manual focusing. But don't know how it really works, I see different part with the red when focus, but there is a range within the color stay there, changing a litle ...how to properly read the color?

i don't really understand the first question ? but of course aperture can be set, in manual or aperture priority like in any other camera.

for focus peaking, forget about red, it's crap, go to yellow and see the difference.

Took 2 seconds to look up and I found a thousand dollars adapter from Metabones:

    https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1190615-REG/metabones_mb_ef_fz_bt1_canon_ef_to_sony.html

    Optitek has one for £1.5K:

    https://www.topteks.com/shop/lenses/lenses-lens-adaptors/optitek-fz-to-ef-adapter-fzefada/

Once you get into the cinema world then prices get to be crazy!

right, but a lt least the metabone as electronic in it and some research, not all products from many companies can claim the same

  4. you have a specific topic about xt3, you should look into it and post there.

first because you have all answers i am pretty sure and second because the answers will help the community and it is easier to have one topic that regroups all answers.

ok so i bought a tokina 28-70 2.8 I believe its series 1. all my searching leads me to think its series 1 anyway. At this point i'm going to buy a cheap nikon to m43 adapter but later i might get an adapter with contacts if that allows  auto focus or tap to focus on the bmp4k. Has anyone any experience on that ?  the other path i might take is to get a speed booster if i went with a speed booster i should get a cheap nikon to ef adapter to speedbooster or is there a nikon to m43 speed booster ?. As you can tell i'm unsure how of the whole speed booster process works. some enlightenment would be appreciated

i have one, canon mount. and i find the af pretty decent for a lens that old. don't excpect shooting sport with it anyway but for slow motion think it would be ok

this was entirely shot with it, manual focus

Oops I think it was 8/10bit internally and 12bit externally for CinemaDNG

seems it will be 12 bit internal for 24fps 10 bit for other fps

    He doesn't deserve it?

RED have accused him of all sorts in a court case that had been running for nearly 3 years that has now been dismissed.

A company owned by a multi-billionaire trying to bully a tiny operation out of business based on absolutely bogus claims and he's had to keep his mouth shut about it?

I think he deserves to be able to make it into a 5 part mini-series after all that.

Not to mention be bought a drink by everyone who will benefit from what he has laid out there.

sorry, it does not serves his speach ;)

and not saying he isn't right, just for the first 5 minutes i was almost dead bored of listening to him quoting the same sentences over and over

To be fair to him, he's only repeating the truth with the same frequency as his accusers were repeating the "alternative facts".

maybe but it is still quite anoying and does not deserves his speach

Now I never really expected RED to have made the physical media inside their mags so it doesn't come as a massive surprise to find that they contain fairly run of the mill standard drives.

Did I think they were taking the piss with the price they were charging for them?

Well I still wince thinking about how much I paid for the 64 gig Redmags that I bought with the EPIC so the answer is definitely yes but when you looked at how much Panasonic were asking for P2 cards then it was par for the course.

This video - which has been produced by a company that make alternative mags - shouldn't come as too much of a surprise then when they strip an official one and show the components.

What I hadn't really appreciated though in terms of significance are the statements that RED have made regarding them developing the drives, the millions spent on custom firmware that writes the data in a unique way and how its a US made product.

All of which this video pretty much debunks and in addition shows there being a somewhat innacurate description of the capacity.

Charging people ten times what they could buy the product for is one thing but the misleading descriptions is another and one that might well cause them a few issues.

I'll be very interested to see what the producers of this video have in store for part 2.

Particularly as it appears RED have been trying to sue them.

could be a 5' video if the guy would stop repeating the same quote 10 times
