One of the best collection of wedding videos I ever saw was a guy doing his stuff on the EM5II.  Nobody would ever claim the EM5II has top-line IQ, but his videos were always amazing.  He knew how to shoot fast and pretty, and the EM5II and the IBIS really harmonized with his workflow and skill set.

A good shooter can do a great job with an old Rebel Ti.

Ultimately, it's about having exceptional people skills and enjoyment of the work.  You really have to be gung-ho about getting in there and helping people in a positive gentle way.  Rapport with your couple is the absolutely priority, shooting skill second...I don't know where camera selection falls in the priority list, but it's always more than a few notches below everything else.

Yeah realized that the hard way that it comes down to lighting , composition, grading then gear.

Any links to the EM5 guy's wedding videos? Been looking at some wedding videos lately and it seems that they just follow a pattern. Nothing really stands out much

It’s the perfect camera for what I need right now.   I went with a native lens to give the Auto Focus a try and chose the Sony 35mm 1.8. Got it on eBay real cheap and I really like it. I’ve shot now about 6-7 videos with this combo and it’s a keeper. Recently did a big interview project and although I can’t share it on here, footage looked fantastic . It was the easiest interview I’ve ever shot. Used @Andrew Reid EOSHD and shot a combo of his baked in pro color profile and pro log. Just hit zone focus on the head and that is all I had to look at, the a6500 kept focus perfectly every time! Granted I lit my subject and chose the background/environment. Love this camera!

Thanks! I'll look into the Sony 35mm f1.8. I was looking into the Sigma 16mm f1,4 before but it's too high for the budget plus I think the Sigma 18-35 gives the same results, image-quality-wise.

Vimeo didn't use to be that way a few years ago that I remember. I am beginning to just hate paying them money for upload space anymore every month. I hardly upload at all as of late. What the heck they doing with it?

Just way too much chaos in my life as of late with my mother to concentrate on video stuff. I have opened my camera bag in 2 months. Still not positive I am going to get this C100 ever I ordered. Depressing as hell.

Why did you order a C100? For work or hobby filming?

I’ve noticed, on Vimeo, that if you play the video before you make it full screen, it seems to play smoother and not pause.

Vimeo is very cumbersome for me. I think it requires very high internet speeds just to play optimally. I don't like Youtube because of how they compress videos, but YT plays immediately. Unlike Vimeo that would suddenly pause after playing for 2seconds. I like Vimeo from 2-3years ago, don't know what they did with their architecture

  4. Hi i'm also looking for my first anamorphic setup with the Gh5/ GH5s. I am set with using a Helios 44-2 as a taking lens but from there I'm at a loss about the next stuff / correct stuff to buy. I don't want to buy an anamorphic then realize it's too heavy for a GH5. Any suggestions or a thread, where I can start building up an anamorphic setup. So now I'm gonna buy a Helios 44-2 then a clamp, then a Sankor 16c? And then i assume are 15mm rods for rails.. Sorry I did my research but I do not want to buy an expensive premade anamorphic setup by anamorphiclenses shop. Thank you for any advice!

I have been a A6500 owner for about two months now and I’ve taken on a multitude of projects in all kinds of lighting. Love it...with the exception of the screen. Now I will say I love the EVF personally as when shooting outside, I’ll just hold the camera to my face adding a third pillar of stabilization. If I were doing this more often, I’d get an external monitor and be done with it but it’s a super versatile little rig!

I'm also a recent A6500 shooter but still have my Panasonics. Bought it from a friend for cheap just to try and use it as a C-cam to the GH5/s. I have a Sigma 18-35 to pair with the A6500. What lenses are you using? Any recommendations?

It’s sad. How hard can it be to make proper buttons in the first place?

That's what frustrating with this Sony series lol so just have to workaround the limitations

Cheers everyone. Seems GH5 and XT-3 are very similar in low light and Dynamic Range (with a slight edge to XT-3). Recon I will suggest GH5S as primary option as battery life, unlimited recording time, lcd screen and waveforms are big pros as well as xlr adapter so I can do wireless lav and shotgun mic at same time, and I am used to it having used the GH5 for a year. The autofocus is the big pro point of the XT-3 though. Maybe I can persuade them to buy both!

XT-3 is really amazing and would love to test in in the field. But since you're used to the GH5, it won't be difficult to adjust to the GH5S. How about adding a Ronin-S or Zhiyun Crane 2 to your budget plus an Atomos recorder or SmallHD Focus. The gimbal will help with the GH5S since you're gonna miss the IBIS i'm sure. I always had thoughts like 'Why is this damn cam so shaky?!' when using the GH5s lol. Also the Atomos recorder / Smallhd focus for better focus peaking. If you're going for the Atomos Ninja/ Shogun or Ninja V, you'll be glad if you want unlimited recording since the SSD drives can store much more than the SD cards

Are any of these tests showing the difference between the Pocket 4K and GH5S?

Are any showing the actual benefits of RAW vs H.265?

    It's all just eye candy.

I want to know what the actual image quality is relative to the competition (X-T3, GH5S, Z7, Magic Lantern and A7 III).

Nothing yet vs other competition like the Sony A7III but I've found these vs GH5s:

    vs GH5:

So basically image quality wise, the new Pocket 4k is near the GH5

  9. @Sage have you encountered gamma shifting after rendering in Premiere. I was using the Emotive Color lut  on Lumetri>Creative like what the manual says, and like what I see on my screen on Premiere.  But after rendering and, i get washed out colors on Quicktime. But playing on VLC looks fine. Problem is, I think after uploading to Youtube / Vimeo, it will follow the Quicktime desaturated look. Any advice on this? Thanks
