I mean the fact is no other mirrorless camera gives you full frame 8k, 4k 120p, 60p, or 8k oversampled 30p. The mere fact that you can use these settings is a great accomplishment, cause you can't use them with any other mirrorless. I'd rather have then as an option than not have them at all. I can shoot all day in standard 4k 30p mode and mix it in with some hfr modes if I want.
To all those saying, ye but it's not worth the price...well the market will decide what it is worth. Again you don't get any of these options in any other mirrorless. 8 stops, dual pixel, uncropped 4k, flippy screen, 10 bit internal, etc etc.
The constant moaning and complaining is unnecessary. Just compare this to the way the xt4 was treated. Apparently that camera is perfect despite having crap ibis where you can't pan and unreliable autofocus (people had to turn to YouTube and Philip bloom for that info).
So it overheats in certain modes. Don't worry, you will be fine, it's not the end of the world.

unfortunately issues could happen with any camera, I have shoot ruined by a Red camera, but anyway, you have to choose the best tool for the job, I don't see me choosing a camera with record time issues even before starting the shoot, no way, I hope with an external recorded the issues with the R5 can be fixed.

Depends on whether you are an eternal pessimist or not, I suppose 😛
My personal outlook will remain unchanged. I shot a short film in 6 second chunks at -16 Q Scale to get a higher bitrate on the T2i when Magic Lantern first came out. And I loved it. Squeezing the best IQ out of a camera is right up my alley...and I thought yours as well but you seemed to have changed your tune since I was last here.

So I'd first like to introduce myself as a 5+ year lurker on this forum who recently created an account.  Hi, my name is Jeff. I feel like there isn't really a "market" for this type of genre. Most travel videos I see are rapid cuts of ground footage, interspersed with drones, and fast paced music. I recently saw on a post (forgot where it was) that someone was actually appreciative of the fact that there wasn't a cut every 0.5 seconds that wasn't cutting to a drone inbetween every shot. I actually love shooting this type of travel content where each shot gives the viewer enough time to actually have a "feel" of the space. I tend to be the type of person who shoots a lot but rarely shares much so I thought after seeing that post it would be a good opportunity to share a video I shot a few months ago on a trip to Iceland. It's definitely long (8+ minutes) but I wanted to shoot it in a way that could actually invite the viewer in and actually help them feel what I felt when I was there.  Also this was one of the weirdest and most surreal places I've ever been to. Let me know your thoughts, on the actual video and as a medium as a whole.
