It does, but only at 400Mbps and up to 29.97p (DCI and UHD) - I say only because you can't select a lower Mbps and a higher frame-rate like you can with Long GOP. DCI24p 400Mbps All-I is nothing to sniff at.

Nice thanks, The 85mm is anything but compact, I understand why, but though maybe they'd keep a similar size for the other lenses. I feel like Sigma tend to do that.
-
Does anyone know the expected size of the Viltrox lenses?
-
@kye does that one interact with the camera though. Imagine if you’re projecting a room, when you love the camera, things in the room will move in the frame at different rates depending on how near or far they are from the lens. The Mandalorian one is linked so there’s almost like a parallax effect within the projection that moves with the camera. As far as I can tell, your video only really works of the camera is fixed or the screen is very out of focus.

Awesome, looks like a cool update. Looks like there could be more in the update that's been blacked out.
-
From the sounds of it, it also means you're shooting for everything in camera. I wonder if it also impacts the grade. @IronFilm It won't be long until you can link the car to this screen and accelerate, handbrake turn etc and you'll get the screen responding to how you're driving. It's like a shared virtual reality.

The Mandalorian has reinvented how we can make films. No need to build physical sets or travel to remote locations. This is like green screen 2.0. Filming in a controlled studio, but the cameras and actors can all interact with the digital environment. Realtime keying without having to use tracking markers or anything. I'd be surprised if every studio in the world isn't already building this. We'll be seeing it in every movie and TV show within the next few years, for sure. Car chases are always exciting, but this scene just looks rediculous. Huge props to the camera team, but have been a highly stressful situation for the guy in the passenger seat.
-
To be fair, that is a studio camera. It doesn't have a battery. As such, it's designed to always be on sticks, so form factor is less important.

Does anyone know if there's a way to check which profile (Film Sim) a shot was using? With BMD cameras, my metadata reading app thing tells me whether I was shooting in FILM or VIDEO or EXTENDED VIDEO - but it doesn't seem to get that kind of info from the Fuji...

Zcam also have ProRes. EDIT: Zcam will also have ProRes - Once they get the license from Apple.

Mine just arrived! Paired it up super easy and adjusted the button settings to my requirements, but not had a chance to use it properly yet. Looking forward to it though.

I hear this a lot, but I have no problems with it at all - what's the beef? Granted, I only do minor adjustments, but I'm not running into anything that's all that challenging.

Yeah, if you take my comment out of context you can say whatever you want about it. I said taking photos through someone's windows isn't illegal but is morally disgusting.
-
I can see both sides of this argument, but personally I'd feel very uncomfortable doing this, and when I see anyone taking a photo in my general direction, I always turn my back to them. In public spaces, you don't 'own' your face in this regard, there's no legal reason for someone to ask your permission for a photo, and they don't owe you anything from the profits they may make from it. That doesn't mean it isn't rude. I straight up disagree with your privacy statement Andrew, these days privacy is rare and if we don't hang onto every last shred of it, there won't be any left at all. Paparazi sitting in a bush taking photos through someones windows could be their art, but I whole heartedly think that is very wrong. In the UK, that's legally fine, so long as the photographer is standing on public property. Morally it's disgusting.

But you can’t record 4k60p in all-intra on the XT3... Right?

I have a 27-inch 2019 iMac and it's no problem cutting 4k50p 10bit footage. I think it's mostly 200mbps Long GOP. In Premiere, it can run very smooth on 'Full' quality even with a light grade in Film Convert, so I guess 60p would also be no problem, especially if you knock it to 1/2 while editing.

How to receive a BAFTA as ungraciously as possible
Anaconda_ replied to Andrew - EOSHD's topic in Cameras
He also never talks about North Korea. Or Putin, probably never mentions Trump publicly and has never said that the moon landings were real or fake. It's not his job to know about any of that, he has minimal exposure to it and it's not his position to voice his opinion about it in a very public way. He is exposed, daily, to the film industry and so he is in a position to talk that. Should he personally feel bad for anything happening within the industry? Who knows. Should he talk about it, get other people talking about it? Sure, aren't films supposed to get people talking? He's said everything he can possibly say about 'Joker', but people keep giving him a microphone, so he has to say something else. And he's succeeded, people have been talking about this topic all over the world and he's added fuel to that conversation... what a shame. Ricky Gervais said basically exactly the same thing, he also dragged in pedophile rings within the industry and that was fine. He said it as a joke. Phoenix said it in earnest, meant every word and wasn't pausing for laughs, instead the room was silent. That's his big mistake, he's Joker, he should always pause for the laughs. I'm honestly a bit confused as to what we're talking about here. Are we discussing that an actor is trying to shed some light and that's a bad thing? Or are we discussing that he did it in the wrong scenario? If he said his thank you's, blew kisses to his adoring audience and hugged the presenters, but then sat in a formal interview setting with a news channel and voiced his opinion there, would there be a topic for it? Of course not. -

It's a tough one - Joaquin isn't the only person to mention it at the event, but he clearly has the loudest voice - it's been posted all over the internet. Also, how many awards has he won for 'Joker'? Basically all of them right? How many times can he thank his agent? How many times can he nod to his fellow nominees and ask Christian Bale to suck just once? The whole thing is rubbish at this point, he's just trying to use his airtime to his advantage. Personally, I think it's an artist's job to speak up about the things they feel unjust about. Sure equality in the film industry is a small part of the world's injustices, but if Joaquin started talking about the situation in South Africa that @Amazeballsmentions, it'd feel like it came from nowhere. In the 1 minute he has to talk, an actor can only really talk about the industry they're in. Films can perhaps make a better point with more time and a more focused discussion topic, and let the art speak for its self but many of them will have a smaller audience. How many people around the world have watched this small speech? How many people would watch a movie about inequality in the film industry? This is why - for me - music has so much more emotional power compared to any other art form. An artist can make their point, explain it, express it in a way that resonates with their listeners and then hammer it home all in the space of 3 - 5 minutes. That means you can listen to it easily 20 times a day and share it with your friends. Films and books simply can't do that. Photos and painting take more energy to read into them. A song spells it out for you, but still gives room for your own imagination to make even more connections. Phoenix has stated many times over the years that he thinks awards shows are stupid and pointless, and leaving his award on the podium made me laugh. Good for him. -

I’ve not tested, but I expect the main effect would be a crash - same most features Adobe introduce.

Does anyone know any reasonably inexpensive FD speedboosters for X systems? I've found a no brand one on Ebay for £65, which seems pretty good, but wondering if there's a go-to option that other people are using.

Everyone knows more weight = more stability.

Ah great. 30mm 1.4 had pretty bad vignette on a 6d I once put it on. Bad enough that I took it straight off without even clicking the shutter. The Sigma 85mm seems hard to find around these parts. I think I’ll grab whatever comes my way for the best price. It’s nice to have options.
