Really?  Tell me more.  If you wanna mince words about "subscription" vs "upgrade," that's fine, but the one who is bullshit seems to be, in fact, you.  As to the rest, if you want to make a statement that an article is full of easily-disproven facts, it is not even remotely unreasonable that somebody asks you to do just that.  If they're so easy to disprove, it should hardly be a burden at all - barely an inconvenience!

    https://electrek.co/2024/07/12/tesla-starts-selling-30-50-miles-of-extra-range-if-you-have-a-recent-model-y-rwd/

I would leave at that. On topic we agree 100%.

the “proof” you posted about Tesla proves the original bullshit article is wrong.

i would argue there are many car companies that have a lot more political power (in EU) and are guilty of subscription models.

Microsoft and their W11 catastrophe comes to mind … and they can do anything to your PC, make SSDs crash (latest security update), and get away with it because you never bought the software !

Anyone running Resolve on Linux btw ?

I'm obviously not going to go and manually look up every single fact in that post and provide a citation for it.  That's absurd.  You said

So now the burden is on you.  Prove that bullshit wrong. It's apparently easy.

No the burden is not on me. I am not the one writing endlessly long blog posts full of hearsay “facts” without sources.

I could write ten pages about you, insinuating all sorts of things, not unlike Andrew Reid’s chatgpt test about himself, and ask you to prove me wrong.

I know for a fact Tesla has no subscription that unlocks a bigger battery capacity, so that alone is bullshit.

That exact attitude of reposting bullshit, and laying burden of proof with the disagreer is part of the bullshittification of the internet.Apparently you are part of the problem.

Someone loves Eeeeelllllooooonnnnnnn.  If you stan him enough online, maybe he'll be your friend and give you a billion of his dollars.  Keep it up!

I really do not have any love for Elmo, but there is no way everything you read on that blog post is true. If you have proof otherwise, except that we both have a profound contempt for Elmo, be my guest. In the EU they would be open to a flood of lawsuits, both by users and control organisms.

THIS is a big part of the enshittification, the abundance of misinformation by people on the internet that have not gone completely bonkers like most have, but still fall prey to a lack of objective source and fact checking. Mainly because they have a profound dislike for something/someone, thus the things happening or being reported must be true.

eg. The Meidas network, I was a fan, but sorry, they are FAR from objective by now, and way too emotional. It comes across as fake instantly, even if I have sympathy for them.

but the OP was on a completely other matter. It had nothing to do with misinformation, but everything with abuse of legal power by the big guys.

That is the point I wanted to make. Every time as sane person makes an incorrect statement online, it adds to the problem.

  4. The machine you are suggesting should be a lot quicker than what you have …

i have something that is 50% slower and I edit 10 cams of 4K braw. Realtime noise reduction is only 8-10 fps, but your 4070 should handle that if you need to.

your bottleneck could be the SSD. Make sure your buy a nvme M2 big enough for your working projects. SATA ssd can be too slow.

  5. I guess sarcasm and cynism are not very understood in this thread.

but I take exception to “one has nothing to do with the other.” It has very much to do with each other. You may disagree, but then you are probably part of the problem.

Countries led by convicted, or nearly convicted or should be convicted ..sholes. There seems to be a common ground.

I feel sorry for those in the US who didn't vote for this. You are in for a shocking time.

Oh man, you are grossly exaggerating things.

It is not that US schools, children, women, hospitals etc are being bombed to death and free-world journalists are being willingly targeted by snipers. Or important people falling through windows or from terraces, while teenagers get arrested and convicted to 10 years of prison for pinning a little note on a wall.

Apart from turning into a third world country, nothing shocking will happen.

And now to those who still think this is not possible with this camera...

...let alone the skin tones possible to extract from this combo beauty there ; )

    Interesting footage.

a pity there was not enough budget for HIRES cgi.

The entire background is completely blurred and without detail 😂🤣

  8. Here is an interesting take on the s9 and luts

btw I really like the shots and color she gets out of any camera.

tldr she raves about the high yield of jpeg soc and zero postpro.

  9. The only logical thing is about possibly revenue from ads not going the right direction, so somebody forcing the channel to close ? No pay for anyone.

It is almost always about the money.

The footage will look highly processed, even if you shoot Prores, unless you shoot Apple Log.  It's not the codec that disables all the processing, it's the Apple log.

I'm pretty sure that means you can shoot Apple Log and h265 and have an image that isn't over processed, isn't the huge file sizes, and you can record internally and not have to have an SSD etc.

OK, so I found out I can record to FILES instead of the app.

But I cannot figure out how I can record Apple Log on my Iphone 13 ? Where is this setting ?

  11. Two thoughts.

I shot a short second cam footage on my Iphone 13 with the BMD app. Next to my old P4K, the image is utter sharpened crap. I shot in prores...

Second, does anyone have an EASY way to get the footage from the BMD app into my PC ? If not, forget about it. It is useless. The BMD cloud also did not work, because you need to pay a subscription, just to get your (local) footage from the phone to your (local) PC.

  12. In Belgium the S5 II is 2500 euro and the G9 II is 1900 euro. At 1500 I would buy it today...

But one has to remember, when the GH5 came out it was priced 1999 dollar, and it was considered a very correct price.

The G9 ii is a much better camera, and inflation happened ... (1999 in 2017 is 2450 dollar right now)

  13. Sennheiser promised this mic over 15 years ago when the 8000 series was released, to replace the MKH30.

It was then delayed, scrapped, rebearthed, scrapped again. 4-5 years ago there was an online poll by Sennheiser (probably the beancounter department) to see if there was intrest.

Now it will become reality (???) - and suddenly worldwide about 2,5K sound engineers will either buy 1 MKH8030, or - finally - buy into the series and get 4-6 mics.

IMO some beancounters will faint, and some will be fired instantly, because they have cost Sennheiser a lot of money during those 15 years.

If it is as durable and even better sounding then the MKH30, it will be the best (full-range) fig8 mic available.

  14. In defense to the size of the body :

    It has no fan.

    It does not overheat.

The IBIS is stellar, so you could often get by without the gimbal. This alone makes it actually a lot more compact.

Anyway, I tend to put everything on sticks, or walk around with it, and I need a new MFT photo camera - this means I am actually happy they release this. Except for the price.

Oppenheimer’s attempt portraying the Dutch language horribly fails. It’s some kind of German?

Not a big Nolan fan myself - at least his later work. Too much exposition, non-lineair story-telling, inaudible dialog, frontal lobe numbing music and heavy-handed dialogue.

Oppenheimer speaking Dutch was the absolute low of the entire movie. It was a mistake a low budget, first ever beginner shoot should not make.

Yoe dink wat E sed ouas Dotsh butt sanded Geirmann

  16. I saw Oppenheimer (and Barbie !) and did find Oppenheimer really good.

I was not bothered by the complex timeline. I read beforehand this was an issue, but fail to see the problem.

The dialogue : indeed, the editing makes for a roller-coaster type of dialogue. I was wondering if I could keep focused the entire length of the film. Actually I think this is the best part (much more than the cinematography) of the movie. When the testbomb goes off the most exciting moment of the movie has gone, halfway through. I thought literally, how are we going to get through the next 1h30 ...

Turned the next half was even more exciting !

Probably it helps if you see this one with a clear head and enough sleep.

  17. Another heads up for BRAW. The quality and flexibility you get (even white balance can be completely changed afterwards, ISO basically does not exist, except for the dual gain choice one has to make, carefully !) is great, while being more data efficient than the comparable prores.

For me it is most often Q5 for 6-10 cam shoots, which typically are 2x 1.5 hours. That usually gives around 3TB of footage in 4K.

Q5 BRAW 4K DCI at 25 fps typically gives something between 200 and 300 mbit/s if I am not mistaken. 400 mbit max for wide shots with movement and much detail.
