  1. Smallrig do a half cage for it that has a locking grip for the HDMI cable. Alternatively, you can get this from Movcam that gives you a plug in full size HDMI and power barrel connector adapter that can also be secured into a cage.
  2. Something to keep an eye are the inconsistencies in the standard of written English in different posts by the same user. Sometimes you will look at a post from a user that looks pretty much straight out of Google translate and then a subsequent post from the same user will clearly have the look of coming from someone fluent enough not to have needed Google translate in the first place. The suspicion, obviously, is that the account is actually being operated by more than one person/bot. There are accounts on here that match that pattern in my opinion.
  3. I have. I've gone so far back in your archive that your beard was only a goatee
  4. They're aren't even his own listings, just random other people's ones. Well, I say "random" but they are possibly all hijacked accounts listing non-existent equipment. Unless he just has a really, really weird hobby of scouring e-bay for very average deals and then sharing them with a disinterested audience. The other option is him building a decent number of total posts, then move on to copy and pasting semi-credible discussion posts to increase the credibility before pulling some scam. When he then starts offering cut-price dental services in Cairo then we'll know for sure who he is.
  5. After a bit more testing today, the bad news is that my suspicion about the 1080p input seems to have been borne out as I was able to get it working with the LS300 which has a switchable HDMI output. The good news about the bad news is that it is, as I expected it to be, extremely low latency and I was seeing the same sort of delays of 15-20ms that this poster demonstrates on YouTube So, whilst the HDMI resolution is currently a bit of a fail for what I wanted it for (the Pocket4K) I'm going to persevere and try and find a cheap scaling solution or a different HDMI>AV converter (as the TX-5D also has a regular AV input too) as even adding another small box I definitely think its a solution worth exploring. Stay tuned (to one of its 32 channels) and I'll update as and when.
  6. The 3S lipo that I got for it is quite well matched to it form factor wise (I envisage putting the whole thing in a small box as its a bit of mess cable wise etc) but yeah it could equally be powered other ways. However... Early impression after a quick test is that its performing slightly less than optimally as it only seems to be sending a black image on a black background I'll look at it properly tomorrow but I have a sneaking and sinking feeling that it doesn't like 1080p as an input.
  7. Maybe they've deliberately chosen the 14th to announce it as its Valentines Day and they want to show some love to their customers. Or is it going to be a case of Roses are red, Violets are blue, Canon is Canon, No 4K for you.
  8. Did you forget to put the spam links into your original post so have now replied to yourself to add them then?
  9. Quite a prescient topic as I have just picked up one of these Skyzone TX5D transmitters. It has an HDMI input and then converts it to analog transmission on 5.8GHz. Your options to view it are then an integrated FPV monitor (or goggles if you are that way inclined) or via a receiver that connects to an android phone. Transmitter is less than £50, a monitor can be had for under £100 or the android adapter is about £30. You also need to budget another £20 for a lipo battery to run it on. The benefit of doing it this way aside from the cost is that it is really low latency. As this stuff literally only turned up a couple of days ago, I haven't had a chance to put it together but I'll post something up here in a few days about it.
  10. I don't want to labour the point over the adapters for the S1's L mount but here is a list of those that have been available for a few years now from Kipon. https://www.google.com/amp/s/leicarumors.com/2017/03/12/kipon-adapters-for-leica-m-and-sl-mounts.aspx/amp/ Since that list was made they have also added the Canon FD adapter to it as well. Novoflex do a smart EF adapter with AF control as well. So the only lens type where there ISN'T an adapter available for it is the E mount. Which is where the Z mount will reign supreme when TechArt release their upcoming E to Z adapter To the broader point though, I'm not sure I'd see much in the new Panasonics to sway me over the Z6 if I was looking for a FF system. The Z6 and the Ninja V combo is looking to me to be the sweet spot right now against all of them.
  11. Nice work. Ahhh...the down vote you gave my reply to you last week regarding where to get L mount adapters for your lenses makes sense now. I was beginning to think it was because I'd only found them for you but not actually bought you them as well

Yes, the SL This one is with the T, which again should have a "Panasonic Inside" sticker on it. Interesting really that Panasonic haven't produced their own branded version of it as with it being an APS-C with an L mount it might actually find a few friends. Perhaps they will further down the line. The lens here is all Leica's own work though, an M mount 90mm Summicron.
  13. Maybe even if ever? On the 30th anniversary of the EF introduction in 2017, Canon announced it had sold 130 million of them. Even if they maintained that rate of over 4 million lenses a year for a few years, how niche a product will interchangeable lenses be in 2048 when everyone is taking selfies in their hover cars using computational cameras? I think EF lenses are by far the safest bet for people looking for a universal lens that doesn't tie you into a system. The last hurdle was getting them onto a Nikon body but even that has been solved now by the TechArt adapter opening up a route to mount them on Z mount. When you add in being able to use them with the variable ND on the R as well and also them being able to be used on the Panasonic L mount, the new full frame mirrorless systems have actually cemented the ubiquity of the EF lenses rather than diminished it.

I suppose you could say it was the Panasonic S1 look as it was taken on what we all know was the "mark 1" version of that camera

M mount again A bit of melancholy with the Voigtlander 40mm f1.4 Nokton Classic
  16. I thought it might be something they got enough feedback about to change it in the new firmware release but apparently not. I understand why it is done but there is a far more elegant way to make that seamless/invisible for the user.
  17. Just as soon as they come up with this nebulous future solution that they claim they could use to try and control such an expanse of crossing points. With 50 days to go they will probably end up using this plan from Blazing Saddles.
  18. We should have a dog thread. I love dogs.
  19. Had mine do the phantom screen pressing last week and delete all of the LUTs I'd put on it. I was watching it delete them one by one and half expecting a ransomware pop up to appear on the screen telling me it was going to delete more stuff. I had the last laugh though as the LUTs were crap anyway. Then on Tuesday it did it again but it was too fast to see what it was doing and I just switched it off to stop it doing it. I then thought it had deleted all the recordings off the cards as when I went to playback there was nothing there but after a mild panic I realised that "all" it had done was change recording format which of course renders recordings made in a different format invisible when you go into playback. So it was the perfect storm of an actual defect interacting with a function that is so annoying that it should probably be considered a virtual defect in itself.
  20. I'd give the UK a wide berth for a while until it all shakes out. I was outside Parliament shooting a news job today and lets just say its all getting a bit fraught as the countdown ticks louder. Ireland might be worth a look though.
  21. The cable kit with the dtap has made things a lot simpler as you can use V lock batteries for really long run times now. The Core is OK but at the end of the day its really quite a low capacity battery compared to a V Lock of a cheaper price.
  22. If its anything like their Pronto adapter then Fotodiox will have to wait for TechArt to make it first so they can clone it like they did with the TechArt Pro. Just adding 'nto' onto the name doesn't make it an original product.
  23. The BM battery you mean? The percentage thing was odd for one that they supplied themselves but my experience of its performance was that it didn't have a predictable curve once it got below about half full. It would shut off and then you'd switch it back on and it would still be showing a third or whatever and run a bit longer. It was a bit more critical at the time because they hadn't shipped their cable kit to power it externally but now that's here the internal battery is more of a backup anyway for me at least.
