Well you have a opinion just like I have. IF you like razor sharp output, hell who I am to suggest you are wrong. I guess I would rather be able to have it Your way and make it look My way. Win Win. So you have a legit point on the video. but we didn't shoot or grade it so we have no clue what the person did in camera or in post. I am sure someone will do that sort of test soon. Yeah DR and better low light would have to bet the top tests to do against each of them.

I don't think it has much to do with the size of a m4/3 sensor. There is not a person on here that will argue that the BMPCC has probably a better looking output than Any camera that we could afford to buy. But guess what it has a smaller sensor than m4/3 has, s16. Do people pitch a bitch about its output because of it, no, hell no. It is ALL about the codec, or in the BMPCC case, the Lack of it with Raw. If the GH5 did Raw in camera like a BMCC does it would be, well, a hell of a lot better than nearly any APS-C we can buy. Sure the crop factor sucks on them, and well sure DoF is "Less" than a FF, but you are allowed to buy 0.95 lenses and hang them off a Speedbooster. We are, me included, are just making up a lot of silly excuses that could be totally solved by getting off our ass, off this forum for awhile, and going out and shooting stuff with what we got, or maybe buying a new GH5, and be happy as a" Lark". I cleaned up the last words.

Well I thought the skin tones looked damn good to me is the reason I Did post the video. For once a Panasonic GH- series camera that does not look well Videoish, looks more "Filmic", hell not sure if that is even a word? I don't want cameras that you can cut your face on. Hell buy a Sony A7r mkII if you want that. I personally liked the skin looks, colors overall. I would be happy as hell if I Could get that look in one. I think finally Panasonic is forgetting that their cameras take photographs, and that it is a Movie camera first. Movie cameras are not suppose to be sharp as heck in my mind anyways..

Yeah I think you are right jcs, this camera is a no brainer as far as I can see. It, to me, looks like Panasonic has changed their "color science" on the GH5 for well it is a lot better skin tone wise as I see it so far. And that is a damn good thing! The color looks more natural for sure to me, but I can't put my finger on any camera to compare it too. Ah , I can throw out a lot of cameras here, but I think they have come up with a unique look that has a smooth yet colorful look to it. Yeah I guess it still is a bit Video Camera looking but I don't think we are ever going to get rid of that look with 4k, even 2k. It just has a Lot more detail, and lets be honest, the film era viewed in a movie theater was soft, not tack sharp, but still had a lot of definition, contrast, and hell I guess the DR of film was what made it happen, not counting the best lens, best lighting. Do I think it has a film look, well not close, do I think it has a modern, this is what we are wanting, Indie look, well hell yes. We can always add LuTs, but you have to have a great output to start with, and I think the GH5 has it in spades! This thing could end up being the best camera under 5000 bucks money can buy.. This camera I think can be used as is, out of camera, and end up on Vimeo, YouTube as a winner look wise.

New video I have not seen, maybe on here, don't know. Looks like ISO 3200 Could be used in a pinch, but damn good color at lower ISO's.

Well I don't know of any place that even sells v60 cards as yet, so I guess use what you got for now and by the time the Firmware Update comes out maybe B&H, etc. will have some. Cards we have now sure are not going to be able to push 400mb/s content with ease.

Well figuring the cheapest 14-35mm f/2 ED on Amazon used is like 1400 bucks, sort of way out of my limit. And it would suck focus wise unless yu used a Olympus EM1 like I did with my 12-60 2.8-4.0.

Well I don't really like to admit this, not proud of it, but I was trained to do a job, and I ended up at being Damn good at it, and it, changed my life forever. I guess I see the evil I was trained to eliminate in more and more people as of late. I have used a good amount of AMD processors, but None of them ever was close to what they say speed wise, they can do, unless you damn near overclock them till the tits fall off, and then you would probably be safer if you had a fire extinguisher near by. Intel processors are always pretty much dead on what they say they will do out of the box. You gets what you pay for, and hell I can't pay the big bucks often either. So it is, what it is, as they say.

I think you are wrong, the you get a 36 1.4 lens is right. But the statement that the M4/3 is really still is 1.4 lens is not right, a native 35 1.4 ends up being a F2.8 in reality without a Speedbooster compared to FF.

I really like Camera Store reviews, funny stuff, and really hands on stuff, both stills and video wise.

Just buy a Speedbooster and problem solved on a m4/3 camera. Oh and every lens you stick on it is a Lot faster F stop wise. Win,Win.

Why not buy a used Canon C100? All your lenses will fit, and if you get one with the DPAF they work pretty well focus wise. And if you take the top handle off they are not much bigger than your 1Dc. I know it is not FF but you are talking a real video camera..... Ahh I didn't see the 4k part. Never mind LoL. Does it having a 4k sensor in it count?

Well I sort of disagree. When you put a Speedbooster on the GH5 you will be at APSC size sensor, that is Bigger than a s35 sensor is. So what is a problem with that other than having less DoF than a FF A7, and I will admit better low light ability, but we are allowed to buy lighting. I bet there is not Any scene in a top, say 100 million dollar film, that does not have one frame without some kind of lighting, or a bounce board, umbrella in it. And I don't get this "I have to have razor thin DoF" thing anyways. There is no way you can keep stuff in focus at F0.95 for frame after frame. Still photography well yes. The A7 series sucks on overheating, does not have continuous time shooting, no articulating screen, no touch screen, battery is weak to say the least, no 10 bit, and I don't think I would rather have one of those over a GH5 with a Speedbooster on it to shoot with.

Wow this graph from Thom Hogans web site is not too promising for Panasonic!! I know the last 2 years sort of missing, but you could have Samsung, Leica, Fuji, etc. in the mix. Olympus seems to be doing damn well?
