  1. first pics, looks as compact as A6300 ... where did they put the IBIS in? http://www.sonyalpharumors.com/sr5-leaked-first-image-new-sony-a6500-announcement-today/
  2. It is not a successor. Most consumers will still prefer the very cheap A6000 (still in production AFAIK) or 4K capable and compact A6300. A6500 will not be compact or cheap.
  3. 4K 30p with no recording limit and better AF. A new sensor would be nice, the 1" market is really only differentiated by the lens speed and not by any outstanding sensors.
  4. Rename them as one the non-4K modes and run it
  5. Most of you here make your living with this tech, so for you it is only a tool. You buy a new one, when you current one does cut it for the job. AFAIK none of you even bought or kept the A6300, so why the outrage? Frequent releases are always better. The best strategy would be to simply release new models each year around the same time like smartphone flagships, so you would know when to hold off the purchase before new tech is announced.
  6. IBIS means a substantial body size increase, so this body cannot replace the A6300 - it would be another choice in the lineup.
  7. IQ was explained in the video as a consequence of 8mpx crop of 20mpx sensor, slow lens and noise being interpreted as focus by focus peaking, so some shots were mis-focused. Also missing was v-log.
  8. Can't you soften up the footage in post? I'd love to have as much detail as possible in my home videos, but I agree that make up artists probably dread it.
  9. Given the portability, this one is a real winner. The image might be better on the GoPro, but you need a whole backpack to lug it around. Different intended uses, different customers.
  10. Amazing, a preproduction cam that is better than the production cam. Let's just agree that he jumped to conclusion and wanted to milk that "first video to announce something awesome, but not really thoroughly tested" video views. He made a whole video to relay a single piece of information. He also made a cameo in CamerastoreTV video confirming no overheating.
  11. Didn't this guy claim that the A6300 does not overheat the second day of its release? Grain of salt needed.
  12. RX10III is not a direct successor, but rather an alternative with the longer reach. What Sony should do is make a 12mpx 1" 24-200m f2.8 RX10IV and focus on the fiddly controls etc.
  13. I hope Sony is aiming at FF full sensor readout for their next flagship release - the 12fps 42mpx transfer rate clearly outs the sensor as the weakest link for bandwidth. However, 8K downsample to 4K would probably fry the CPU as well.
  14. Remains to be seem if the FF 4K mode has been improved from. a7RII. Unfortunately, Sony missed the chance for releasing an "a9" model which would be the a99II with E-mount and no mirror (give a complimentary adapter for A-mount users).
  15. the price is right and hopefully it does good when reviewed
  16. Looks like a real video monster, hopefully is has full-sensor read-out: http://www.43rumors.com/ft5-first-images-new-panasonic-fz2000/
  17. Back on topic: this sounds exciting, a new player is always welcome.
  18. I feel sorry for the guy ... he didn't have any input in the product he now has to sell hard. I mean, he can probably sell millions of cams just by being very convincing as long as you don't have any difficult questions.
  19. Here they claim it is a mechanical focus and they also provide a proper lens cap, haha. https://***URL not allowed***/hands-sony-pz/
  20. http://www.newsshooter.com/2016/09/09/ibc-2016-hands-on-with-the-new-sigma-cine-lenses/
  21. Looks like a winner. EVF and DPAF were the two essential things missing from the M line. 4K is a pipe-dream at this point, but it won't make or break a consumer product. If the market eats it up, maybe the Rebel line will die a quick death to be replaced by the M and mirrorless will gain in support (other brands would benefit from this shift immensely).
  22. Holy crap, $3500 are they insane? https://***URL removed***/news/4352012222/sony-e-pz-18-110mm-f4-g-oss
  23. Bluetooth earphones and wireless charging have both been available for some years now. Go for it, Apple does not exist in a vacuum. Have fun charging you earphones, though. The only sensible thing would be to make wireless earphones that can charge and work with a supplied cable when the battery runs out. Cables are only really obtrusive only a fraction of the time (like for exercise).
