  1. That's pretty impressive. Thanks for the heads up... It's in my cart.
  2. @John Emery nice finds! Those little USB chargers look excellent. How many batteries can you charge with portable charger fully charged?
  3. Thanks @Zak Forsman good to hear the Wasabi's work well. My goal with the BMMCC is to create the smallest, cheapest footprint possible, so your tips are priceless.
  4. So, I'm slowly collecting the peripherals needed to shoot with the BMMCC. So far, I have lenses, a cage coming in the mail, a 5" monitor, a theory for a good way to mount it, and SD cards. My monitor takes the same batteries as the camera, but I'd rather not shell out the 60 bucks for the official Canon batteries. So I was wondering what aftermarket batteries everyone is using with the Micro? I saw a decent deal on Amazon for the Wasabi batteries but I have read some mixed reviews over the years about their quality control.
  5. I liked the feel of the video and the romantic way you captured the subject, but I think it could have been nice to see the band playing in the background, as street performers, as you followed your subjects. With that being said... It still is quite beautiful and successful as is.

    Lenses

Didn't know you had a Pocket. Very cool combo. Looking forward to some footage.
  7. What lenses did you use in this video? It was nice to see your use of available light and how well the camera handled the low light. Good job.
  8. You don't have to use the BMPCC profile... A lot of BMPCC users like the Alexa profile... Or try the Cinestyle. Have you tried different film stocks as well, or adjusted the level of the stock, or the curve of the stock? I only ask because I am really bad at color grading and I have found FilmConvert to be the fastest, simplest way to achieve a nice, color corrected/graded look.
  9. Thanks Ed. It looks like I should be getting my micro in a week or two, so I'll be sure to check it out. Hopefully my weak Mac can handle the Raw.
  10. They are on the G7 too. Auto is better than the presets, but even that runs a little cool. The Jon Voigtlander looks bad ass on the GX80. How is the IBIS with it?

    Ikan VL5e?

I ended up getting a great deal in a new other of this monitor. It does have some kind of blue calibration. Thanks for the help!!!

    One Lens?

Yeah that lens is awesome. On my list of dream lenses to own one day!!!

    Ikan VL5e?

    Thanks. Good to know.

    Ikan VL5e?

Has anybody used this monitor? If so, does the screen flip when turned upside down. So far, it seems to be the smallest model I can find but it doesn't have enough mounting options. Also, how is the image quality, build quality, peaking, zebras, etc...?

    One Lens?

I am looking forward to getting the gx85. I decided to hold off until the price drops in a few months. In the meantime I am really considering picking up the BMMCC. I have a few shorts I am shooting over the next few months and the footage I have seen from the pocket with the voigtlander has me pretty excited for the micro and it's 60p.

    Lenses

I had both lenses and I kept the Nikon. The bokeh is nicer, in my opinion, and it's a little better build quality.

    One Lens?

    Sorry, American footballs.

    One Lens?

Yeah, the out of focus highlights can look like footballs.

    One Lens?

Nice! The more I use this lens, the easier it is to sell other lenses, especially if I take them out with me at the same time. The others just don't stack up. The rendering, even wide open, just blows my mind every time I use it. Are you picking up the GX80/85?
  20. Thanks John, most helpful!!! Thank you, for some reason I expected each camera to have it's own manual.

    One Lens?

Finally had the chance to take the 25mm Voigtlander out for a little test.
  22. So, since I started this topic, I have been researching the BMMCC, BMPCC images, and rigging options and I have come to the conclusion that there is no camera in this price range that even remotely comes close to the IQ and DR that these little beasts are capable of. I am more interested in the BMMCC due to the 60p slow motion. So I started thinking about ways to rig this camera to keep it at the smallest footprint possible. For me, that requires a small rig, void of large monitors, or articulating arms. I want something I can put on a small cage with a 3.5" or 5" monitor that is mounted directly behind, and in line with, the camera. I think I have a couple solutions, but I have a few more questions before I make the purchase. 1. Do these monitors eat batteries quickly? I know every one is different, but your individual experiences will be appreciated. Right now it looks like I can get a deal on a "New Other" Ikan VL5e 5" monitor. Does anyone have any experience with this specific model? I know with the pocket, there were some HDMI out issues with the plug... Is this also the case with the micro? Should I be looking for a cage with cable clamps on it? 2. Is the audio levels, when using an external mic, adjustable in camera? 3. I see there is a video mode and a film mode... Is their also individual adjustments like saturation and contrast, etc..., especially when shooting ProRes? 4. How many minutes of ProRes HQ can I expect to get on a 64gb SDXC card? 5. Sorry, I know a lot of these questions can be figured out from the manual, but I can't seem to find it in the website... Does anyone have a link to the owner's manual? Thanks for your help.
  23. Is there a world of difference in quality between the Raw 3:1 and ProRes HQ?
  24. I didn't know that. I picked up his FZ300 LUT and I know with that one and the G7 he was keeping contrast at 0, but didn't know he reversed on the GH4. I haven't been following the hack too closely, just checked out a few grabs and a couple videos, and unfortunately I've never owned a camera that had master pedestal adjustment, but whatever you're doing it's working. Honestly, though... I'd be afraid of frying my camera.
