  1. I think the increased screen real estate space on the XPS is a big factor. More space when editing or even Photoshop is really really useful.
  2. Thanks for the replies guys. I will stick to 24p unless I specifically want to do slow motion then I guess.
  3. Hi, I'm sorry if this is a really noob question, but I've been wondering about this for some time.. and have not found a good answer via google. Is there any aesthetic difference between shooting 24p in camera, compared to shooting at a higher frame rate (like 60p) and dropping it into a 24p timeline in premiere? I mean, I know the 60p file gives more flexibility with slowing down footage, but just in terms of the filmic 24p look is there a difference? I have been shooting always in 24p because I don't like the look of the higher frame rates, but it would be good to have the added flexibility of the higher frame rate if I can still achieve the same look easily. Thanks for helping me with this
  4. That last video also shows the karma drifting all over the place. Seems really unsafe to me. Especially without the sensors. Hopefully they can fix that in firmware, and soon. Last thing we need is a bunch of new drone users crashing their karmas into things.
  5. Do you think it would be possible to fly heavier setups like a7r or m43 cameras? (with primes)
  6. To my eyes at least, a lot of the videos I've seen from the RX100 seem very digital looking. Is it possible to get more of a "filmic" look shooting with this camera? I've never owned one, so I'm asking for other user's experiences.
  7. Hopefully they can fix this before the full release. The OOC image right now looks really bad. Seeing them side by side, really makes it stand out.
  8. Yeah I have to say, the Mavic footage looks quite soft.. Why do you think that is? The bitrate is too low? Still looks SUPER fun to fly though. Man, I really wish they coulda made the Karma with the size and some of the flight modes of the Mavic.. would be perfect!
  9. Where did you get that image? Doesn't look good at all. I thought the Mavic was supposed to be a better sensor?
  10. I'm the same. I really like the modular approach gopro took. Having a detachable gimbal and camera seems like it would be really useful. Basically you have your whole kit in one package. But the mavic seems much better feature wise, and the size is amazing. You can basically take it in your camera bag without even thinking about it. However I'm a little skeptical about the video quality / stability. And also how robust it is. It looks like it would be really easy to break several of those folding parts... .
  11. That was my initial reaction as well. The Mavic definitely has the compact size and feature advantage. BUT, the karma seems like a really cool modular system (basically 3 products in one), and I'm a bit dubious about the stability of the Mavic. Also looks like it might be quite fragile and break easily. Too soon to say though. We'll have to wait for some direct comparisons.
  12. Seems like the new Olympus might be ideal for vlogging no? With the IBIS and flip out screen and improved video quality.
  13. Don't get me wrong. All the new cameras announced have unreal specs. But I'm just surprised that none of them are going beyond 60fps. It seems like a pretty big omission to me. I kind of expected that to be the next feature for this generation of cameras. Especially since we already saw some limited HFR modes in the newest rx100. Maybe the GH5 will have 120fps or higher. But I haven't seen anything mentioned about it. And none of the other new cameras seem to have any high frame rates either. I think that's the only big thing missing, and if any of them included it, it would really set it apart.
  14. Why is it that none of the new cameras announced today from Olympus or Panasonic (or any others for that matter) seem to be able to record anything over 60fps? For 4k, that might be too much data, but I would have thought they would include it in 1080p. Seems like a missed opportunity. There must be a few people out there who want this?
  15. Off topic, but may I ask what camera the first title image was taken with? The detail and tonal range are really great
