  1. I would much rather have the smaller one hand held ones posted. If you think about it for $2245 you can buy the Nibula 4000 for $700 and have $1545 left to buy a small 4k camera like the NX500 or Black magic pocket or the other brand coming out should let you use a NX1 or GH4 all for that same price and more easy and less pounds to deal with. Or get the $400 version and a 4k Gopro for $1000 http://copter-rc.com/en/catalog/35-pilotfly-funnygo-bt-3axis-stabilizer-for-gopro-3-4.html I see they have a price now on this new one of $749 was hoping it would be less VS the 4000 http://copter-rc.com/en/catalog/60-pilotfly-h1-microdslr-3asix-stabilizer.html
  2. Get this for any DSLR.http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00OY6718K/ref=wl_it_dp_o_pC_nS_ttl?_encoding=UTF8&colid=394KM8VV0OYCU&coliid=I2SGMLZG9NG1K1 Mine is coming in tomorrow.
  3. Any one have any information or sites to point me to that deal with low budget tv show production small 2 people crew with one host shows you see all over the cable networks. This is all i want to do is create a low budget TV show to get on Cable or streaming and do all the production work on it providing a finished ready to air show to a network. Looking for info on things like. What video format do most cable networks take shows in on, Will they take a SD card for DVD now days? Best ways to get a show you shoot and create on a Cable TV network. How much you can expect to make producing your own show each year once it is sold to a network How many 30 or 60 min shows would they want you to produce each year. How many commercial spots would you need to make time for in a 30 or 60 min show and do you get to keep any for yourself. How the show selling works do they buy shows outright from you or can you buy air time and get your own sponsors or a mix of both. How do i contact the right people at each network to get my shows looked at to try and sell it to them. I am looking to do long term full tv productions for a show i produce to keep on the air year after year something like a fix it up show or some basic reality show or something. I have done this in the past but it has been around 20 years ago. Could also see staying on the road full time if needed in a RV to keep a show going once it is sold and making money. Not finding much info on all this or maybe i am looking in the wrong places. Thanks
  4. Wow shooting in that dark sounds like a mess. I shot for a fishing show a long time ago with NASCAR drivers fishing and telling racing story's as they fish. It never made it to tv in any big way the host and the money guy argued all the time and they did not pay people i had to hold the tapes from them till i got paid. We shot all day and i was sunburned so bad. I would tell them if they want a good show you have to use light i can not see some light running off the fish i think it is the other way around fish attract to light.. Is this for a local area show?
  5. Turn display brightness off .. on the back of the screen click on the center arrow up top it opens up its in that area uncheck it.
  6. My last day in Florida before coming back to Branson MO they had Pensacon going on so i ran over and shot this and edited it together when i got home here. Lots of fun colors and cosplay and a few interviews, All hand held and the over head lighting. All shot with the 16x50 in 4K edited down to HD. One thing i seem to have a problem with a few times you can hear the audio go up or down on a few interviews that is me changing the audio level as i was recording it is not very smooth at all. And now that i am home i now have a HD TV to see what i am editing and what it looks like i did not have that for the past 3 months out of town.
  7. Maybe they could then make the NX1 have 4k cropped 120 slowmo if it is more easy to do that would be nice.
  8. This is sad to read i was all ready to buy one but this might change that now will have to see how it all looks when people have it and start shooting. Will this effect the video image quality being cropped like this? Will it still match the NX1 if you shot with both. Kinda sucks as i wanted the NX500 to use maybe on a drone for wide shots i guess it would be nice when shooting things i need more zoom with.
  9. If it is going to be on TV dose it not have to be legal safe video? just popped both your images into my timeline looking at them with a scope and both of them are not broadcast safe for television. So if you turn it in like that the station will auto crush it before it is broadcast to make it safe so it will look nothing like you graded it like it will most likely be much darker with crushed blacks. Many times grading can mess up the video making it not safe for broadcast unless you watch a scope as you grade. I see so many videos graded to look a special way on vimeo and youtube but none of them would pass that way to air on broadcast tv at least in the US. I think many film makers starting out never think about that when editing and grading is it safe for TV if my film ever makes it that far. Or that may stop it from making it that far.
  10. I think it would be best if Samsung just would come out with a video camera with xlr audio and so on in a little larger body designed for video hand held shooting with a large finder and flip out LCD kind of like the new JVC that will be out soon. Get rid of all the photo shooting features and go all video. Then we would have something amazing.
  11. That would suck for taking photos with a on camera flash it would be just off center to give a shadow on walls behind the subject that is the point of having the flash right over the lens to stop any shadows. With this set up even someones own hair would show a shadow then on their own face.
  12. That is still the demo not finished software lets hope it gets better by the time it starts shipping i love the over all image quality and colors. Might be going to NAB and see it in person next month.
  13. I have been looking into this a lot myself and i am going to go with a few of this new light http://www.aputure.com/blog/2014/08/18/6954/ http://dslrvideoshooter.com/aputure-amaran-hr-672-led-light/
  14. Its been a very long time ago but i produced over 100 30 min TV show episodes with one 3 chip JVC camera and never had a problem with it. Then i moved into Sony DV and DVCPro doing over 100 more shows with that before getting a bum deal on a show i was working on and i sold everything and got of of video and went in to Photography full time for 15 years. Getting back into video i love what is available now and what can be done so easy now.
  15. I think its funny that people with high priced cameras look at the NX1 as a toy or a joke but the 4k image quality is as good and better then a lot of other cameras out that cost much more. I would love to see the side by side shots from the FS7 and NX1 i would bet the NX1 is sharper and shows more details that's what i see from all the FS7 videos i have seen. I would think from low iso settings up to 1600 the NX1 has the better image that takes much less work to get the colors right from the camera and past 1600 the FS7 starts to take over. I would think they are both very equal on how they handle highlights with maybe the FS7 being a little but not a lot better. But when you can buy 5 NX1 cameras for the price of one FS7 you sure could use all the extra cash for other things. Plus the NX1 has many features no other DSLR or ENG style camera has If anything when they ever have a NX2 out i think that will probably be a dream come true if they can up the iso to match the A7s it all ready beats it for image details, features, video auto focus, 4k recording and price.
  16. With the a7s then add on the shogun to be able to record 4k, then add on XLR audio and your way over the cost of the JVC. Will have to see how it pans out when its out.
  17. Yaa here it is with a rail system and one on the menu system and functions i found.
  18. The new JVC GY-LS300 is coming out soon and the first videos look quite amazing for a $4000 4k camera with XLR audio and tons of features and can use low cost interchangeable lens. One test shows it out resolve the Sony a7s it produces very clear detailed images that look a lot better to me then the Sony FS7 for a vimeo video and has a easy to use menu system and you can stream video as you shoot and control it remotely. Can shoot 4k and HD at the same time and record out in HD and record inside in 4K at the same time or 4k out. Not as good in low light as the the Sonys but just about everything else is. On par or better then most DSLRs but with better shooting features like the XLR audio and zoom control. Not the best cinema setting but can be used to get a flat look they say. Something to think about for the price its in the middle or less then some DSLR set ups not need for a rail system and less then other 4k ENG style cameras. You could buy two for the price of one FS7. Here is some videos from it.
  19. Herb i have only seen banding in one shoot i did other then that i never see any. I know i can make banding when editing i have done that a lot by using curves and color wheel to much but its not in the original footage. For bang for the buck the NX1 rocks.
  20. I agree i have had mine sync before xmass and the banding, macroblocking and so on is such a non issue you see the same things in other camera videos on Vimeo and youtube from cameras costing over 8k and up. Was watching blue bloods on tv the other night and could see banding in the video many times on areas going from dark to light i see it a lot on many TV shows more then i ever see it in the NX1 footage. I have had one time i did get noticeable banding but in this case would have banding on most any camera. Image quality in 4K is very good i would have no problem shooting a low budget tv show, music video, commercial job or anything with the NX1. Its small light and easy to use and they are working hard to keep making more updates and soon will have a pocket version that can be used as a second camera for a low price. I will buy the pocket version and small gimble for it and the 4k Gopro and Drone over time so i can cover just about anything for a very low cost VS building a package with say with the Sony FS7.
  21. Yaa but still AF is a Adobe product same as Premiere not Apple and Apple has not let out all the info on Prores for Adobe to use it right so Adobe and others make it work as best they can in their programs. I use Edius and that is what they told me about Prores that the information is not released from Apple for anyone to use it 100% right except them. They told me not to use it do to problems like that i now use the Edius code called HQX that they clams is better then Prores for editing in their program. I will say it creates files that work a lot better when editing for the 4K files i edit. The Prores files do not play well at all and the HQX files play at almost real time. When i update my Video card i should then get real time with some effects applyed. I really like Edius its been around almost as long as Premiere you need to get used to their interface they have tons of hidden menus and tools it is feature rich like Premiere and FCP but was a closed system for a long time that is now more open so a lot of 3rd party plug ins do not work with it yet but the list is slowly growing. It has a lot of speed advantages for editing and tv production use.
  22. Could be Premiere on a PC as Prores is a Apple thing and Premiere dose not 100% have it right from what i have read.
