I wonder huw much time does it take export to H.264 50Mbps.
-
How much time does it take on your computer to render this 23 minutes video to 4K H.264 MP4 in 50Mbps?
-
The Nvidia GTX 960 has a dedicated H.265 hardware encoder / decoder, I wonder if it helps vs the GTX 970.

Thank you for the update. What do you mean by "eperate SSD system"? Internal SSD that are used only for Premiere?
-
I shot also with Panasonic G7, its also there, but the pattern is better - not in steps like the Sony. The steps cause worse problem in grading.
-
You can see it in the attached sample. Shot with Cine4 S-Log3. Ungraded. You have to look at full size.
-
Thank you for the reply. I prefer to prevent it at the shooting stage and not try removing in post. Tried to shoot with Cine 2 / 4 but it still there in the ungraded material.
-
It happens in S-Log3 and S-Log2 as well. Funny, I dont remember it so severe in A7S.
-
That's true, the two must go together…

Thank you for the link. From what I see (regarding the test with Premiere CC which is more relevant today), in 1080p and a lot of effects, GPU helped until certain point only and the CPU / Chipset made a big difference. In 4K staff, GPU was much more important.
-
Do you have a certain info about that? from what I know, Premiere use GPU for Mercury engine and preview, but not for final rendering.
-
Premiere does not use GPU for final rendering, so all CPU power enhancement is usefull.
-
Regarding CPU power, newer Intel models has "Quick Sync Video" that does help rendering faster indeed, but Premiere does not support it: http://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/architecture-and-technology/quick-sync-video/quick-sync-video-general.html

Banding is a S-Log 3 problem, you dont have to use it.

Hello Andrew, In the end of A7SII review part 1, you were talking about this topic (A7SII or A7RII). from what I understood, All together, you were leaning towards the A7RII as a whole solution. Am I correct?
-
Thank you. I must say, that after viewing large number of A7SII S-Log3 "Luted" files, the colors are always artificial for the bad, trying to be too "artistic". Maybe we need to see more results.
-
Saw some tests, the A7RII in S35 4K mode seems sharper than A7SII in FF. Besides, many A7SII has orange tint versus more natural color of the A7RII, am I right?
-
He said in the video that it was been filmed with the first A7S, take a look again.
-
The day shots in Times square and Central Park were shot with the A7S, not II.

A few musings on what I missed in my month off from EOSHD!

You dont like the G7? Why? -
Regarding the saying that they didn't mention this is a Jewish owned store, Aljazeera do that it in a much smarter way, they just put a front photo with a Jew standing there. Bang, target accomplished.

I don't understand people who ask about 4K in crop mode. Look at the total number of pixels in this sensor and tell yourself the answer, its a simple math.
-
4K in camera, full pixel readout - no binning, 5 axis ois, same iso 409600.
