  6. Well depends on how you view things. Compared to 35mm full frame used for photography, the gh2 has a crop factor of 2x. But since we are in the world of filmmaking, the standard is super 35mm which is smaller than full frame 35mm, s35 has a crop factor of 1.5x, thus this is my "full frame" Hence I consider this my 1x, and full frame to be less than 1x.If you are trying to match a 5d then you do the 2x crop if you are trying to match, s35 or aps-c, then you do a 1.25x crop.

  8. Don't film skating with a BMPCC lol, VX1000/550d for skating is enough.
  9. I own both the 50d and BMPCC, I definitely would choose the BMPCC, but the 50d is great for the price. The dynamic range of the BMPCC is a huge benefit over the 50d's in my opinion, as you can see, the blacks on the 50d are crushed. In terms of color, I do agree that the BMPCC raw needs to be pushed more, but I do believe that the BMPCC raw contains more color information as it is a 12 bit log raw that unpacks to 16 bit linear in resolve as opposed to the 50d's 14bit. Nonetheless you can't go wrong with either camera. Both are great values for their prices and that is why I'm keeping my 50d.
  10. But in real world use/disregarding the technical aspects, the speedbooster makes it just like shooting with an aps-c dslr in terms of DOF, just 1 2/3 stops brighter.
  11. Low light abilities has to do more with pixel pitch, etc, not the sensor size. That is why the low light from the pocket camera is very comparable to the low light capabilities of the 2.5k BMCC
  12. You can always adapt nikon lenses to ef with full aperture control but not the other way around, that is why I buy almost all my lenses in Nikon mount. The play in the release button is normal, every pocket camera has it.
  13. Why did one of the replies say this? Is there something inherently wrong with the BMPCC's motion? "And I'm not talking about stabilization issues. The intra-frame motion - of people walking, for example - isn't good at all. It reminds me of the stutterframe look of 8mm home movies from the 1950s. It'sbad. The picture quality is fairly nice, yes, and I'm sure it grades nicely - but with motion like that, I'd never consider buying it.'
