  1. some of the lens rental companies have ARRI standard mount for hire.Adam Savage from "Mythbusters "& explode a car ! has one of these cameras they have just had it serviced and will be filming on it soon.Kodak was kind enough to give them free film stock.
  2. Looks like you are seeking 35mm ARRi standard mount .Many of these standard mount lenses have been modernised to PL mount, however there are still standard mount lenses around and more affordable than the same lens in PL.This one is US $850. There is also a 28mm in Schneider and Cooke Speed Panchro 18mm,25mm,32mm,40mm,50mm,75mm
  3. 30 or more takes is probably not a good idea either !
  4. You only live once Fuzzy - not much use sitting in your rocking chair thinking "I wish i'd done that when I was a young".Some people pay 3,000 English pounds for a 30 minute flight in a two seat Spitfire ,I bet they don't forget the experience !
  5. Philip Bloom ended up purchasing the Nikon ZR mainly because the large screen makes shooting easier. Here are his tests comparing the ZR and Z6III & what are you up to Nikon they aren't the same !
  6. Christopher Doyle what a legend and his movie making skills were virtually self learned/experience.He is able to film with fluid and movement with such heavy lumps of cameras ,goodness knows what this one weighs on his shoulders ! Our modern camera rigs are a dream -I try and keep mine under 2 kgs total.
  7. Even more amazing they were low budget B-movies with shoot schedules under five weeks !
  8. Based on the collaboration between director Anthony Mann and cinematographer John Alton, here are the films they worked on together: T-Men (1947) Raw Deal (1948) He Walked by Night (1948) - Mann directed most of the film but was uncredited Reign of Terror (also known as The Black Book) (1949) Border Incident (1949) Devil's Doorway (1950) The full movie of "He Walked by Night" is on youtube
  9. Part of the reason they could make these film was the introduction of Kodak Eastmann Super XX film after WW2.It was rated at around 160-200 ASA which was over 2 stops faster than film of the 1930s.It also was known for its ability to be pushed (underexposing and overdeveloping)It was regularly pushed one stop to 320AS and sometimes two stops to 640ASA like on Citizen Kane.
