  1. @Brian Williams For my a7 III, I watched a 45-minute set up tutorial, and it was a godsend. I see there are quite a few for the X-T3 on YT.
  2. What many fail to remark is that Sony’s biggest advantage is the huge lens selection - not just thirty as is repeated so often now, but hundreds - and over the next few years, that gap will only widen, not get narrower.
  3. A few shops stock m43 now, but advertising and events are nonexistant, as are authorized repair centers. They’re only familiar with washing machines and stuff. This is from Panasonic’s brochure. ? Japan is blessed with an abundance of fresh, pure water. Rain falling in the mountains finds its way to clear streams and springs both hot and cold. Japanese people’s traditional reverence of nature extends to water, the essence of life. This love of pure water in turn gave birth to Japanese people’s appreciation of cleanliness in every aspect of life. Japanese love a long soak in the bathtub, and they insist on meticulously keeping clothing clean and presentable. Panasonic’s washing machines embody this cultural appreciation of water and cleanliness. The Japanese approach is to get clothing stunningly clean, helping you look and feel beautiful at home and everywhere you go.
  4. In my eleven years living abroad. I can count the number of people I’ve seen shooting Pansonic on the fingers of one hand. At their announcement, Panasonic said something like m43 represented mobility, FF quality. Weird ass strategy if you ask me.
  5. Funny, I had the same problem with the X-T2. Thought I was the only one.
  6. Speaking of, you might be surprised to learn that child marriage is alive and well back in the good ole USA, where, between 2000 and 2015, over 200,000 minors were legally married. So since it's clear that your brain is located in your crotch, no need to leave home.
  7. I'll see if I can't pick one up tomorrow.
  8. I watched it at 144p like I do everything, and I thought it looked awesome.
  9. Quite honestly, given the choice, I'd never shoot at ISO 6400 again with the X-T2. And even if the X-T3 was every bit as good as the X-T2 in low light, I'd avoid shooting above ISO 3200. Colors are better at base ISO, noise isn't obtrusive. Here's a skin tone test I did at ISO 400. Sorry for the music!
  10. I'm not passing judgement on Philip Bloom. Corporations hire celebrities to represent their brand. If they no longer feel the relationship is fruitful or fear it will hurt their reputation, they're entirely within their legal rights to let them go as brand ambassadors.
  11. Kessler made the right decision to drop him.
  12. no, I didn't realize you were defending anybody. Is someone on trial here? maybe you should be their spokesperson. LOL And 720p 120fps. And no FHD 10-bit. "R" stands for revolutionary. As in 1980s.
  13. @Vintage Jimothy Voigtlander FE mount lenses have electronic coupling to the camera, so EXIF data is passed along, information regarding focal length enables the camera to compensate for camera shake with IBIS, turning the focus ring can trigger focus magnification if enabled in the menu, and in-camera software correction for aberrations is made possible. This probably will not be the case if Voigtlander decides to make Z mount lenses: and even if it were, there is no guarantee that future software updates or Z mount cameras will communicate with the lens.
  14. Pretty sure that's what I heard them say during an interview if I remember correctly. But according to some forum members, I can't even remember what they just typed two seconds before. Edit: It might've been Sigma! haha
  15. My thoughts exactly. Not a shill. Actually what you said is that "Sony sLog looks pretty soft in 4K as well if you don’t add sharpening in post". You clearly did not say you can dial it down as much as you like. Readers can interpret that however they see fit. I'm willing to share all the S-Log images you like: a bouquet of flowers, some teenage girls at the coffee shop, whatever you like. hehehe
  16. Just to set the record straight, @mercer , S-Log2 requires no additional sharpening in post, and this was shot with detail dialed all the way down.
  17. From what I understand, Voigtlander is looking into their patents.
  18. Here’s a side-by-side shoot I did a while back with the G85 and X-T2. Apologies for the dreadful grading.
  19. This was the only low light test I ever did, ISO 6400.
  20. You are the perfect example of an ignorant little bitch.
  21. The prices they charge do seem insane, even to someone from the States. The thing is, $1,000-$1,500.00 is what mediocre photographers charge for marginal work. For that kind of dough, I might as well wait tables, and I have. Working fine dining makes wedding photography look like a walk in the park. Truly talented wedding photographers can command as much as $10,000 or more. And they don't need to book 80 weddings a year to put food on the table. The ones in the mediocre category are the ones who always make excuses why they couldn't have posed the couple better, exposed better, changed up the camera angle, used a reflector or chosen a different focal length and on and on and on. The ones who say two or three 'wow' shots is enough. Below, a random shot taken from Jason Lanier's blog, someone I consider at the top of their game.
  22. hasn't that been posted like a half dozen times already? or is it different from the others? just askin'...
  23. I’m reasonably certain Apple will add B RAW to FCP X. Apple has partnered with both BMD (eGPU anyone?) and Atomos and this would benefit all parties.
