Of course we’ll have to await the reviews, but I expect the Fuji 33mm f/1 to have stellar performance along with an equally stellar price tag. But after lugging around the 90mm f/2 and 50-140mm f/2.8, it was a joy to pick up the 35mm f/2 WR ($350.00) and 50mm f/2 WR ($400.00) which weigh just a few ounces, are built like little gems, and feel right at home on the X-T2. I shot this with the 35mm f/2.
  2. Unless your monitor costs tens of thousands of dollars, chances are it does not have true 24p playback anyhow.
  3. I wouldn’t vlog with it either, but apparently you can depress the shutter button with your thumb while pushing the focus button at the back of the camera with your index finger.
  4. Peaking is available in green, blue, black, white and red.
  5. Jun Areia’s camera only had English.
  6. I’m not a nature photographer, but certainly Sony’s animal eye detect AF (coming soon) must count for something. Also, all the Fuji lenses in my collection have superb construction, but their 100-400 is supposed to be plastic fantastic and closest focus distance isn’t all that impressive. Do you own it? Any thoughts on stabilization, AF, build quality?
  7. Isn’t FE 300mm equivalent to 450mm APS-C?
  8. How about the Sony FE 70-300mm f/4.5-5.6 G OSS Lens for $1,200?
  9. I’ve found GH5 tap to focus to be just about 100% accurate in video in AF-S. Just talking static subjects here, not tracking or anything. It’s important to make the focus area as small as possible for the best accuracy though. Tap to focus also works swell with the remote app in 4K, something neither Fuji nor Sony can do.
  10. Using the touch screen to focus will be a bit laggy according to reviews I’ve seen.
  11. Didn’t Sony announce something like a dozen lenses to be released in the next year?
  12. The camera says made in Singapore in Jun Areia’s video. Where else are they made?
  13. The camera is made (or assembled) in Singapore.
  14. Sharpening is available in camera when shooting ProRes.
  15. review, unboxing and guides by Jun Areia. lots of useful information, more guides on the way.
  16. I got plastic looking skin shooting in broad daylight with Classic Chrome before F Log. I haven’t shot with it since the update. edit: I did shoot a couple clips with the Veydras after the update, didn’t notice any change.
  17. @deezid can’t you tell when you’re being trolled? “camera x produces dog shit colors. in fact, every test online shows it has dog shit colors, all their cameras have puke color, but I just had to find out for myself, so I bought it anyway. and you know what? the colors are crap, just like I thought! I’d let it go, but I paid for it with a gift card from me mum, so it has sentimental value. anyhoo, I never tire of telling everyone how shiite the colors are, it gives me a certain thrill. I sold camera y bcz blah blah. I got an insane deal here on camera z (over 50% off retail bcz everyone but me hates it) which produces 100X better colors than the one I just let go of (maybe you even know it - didn’t you just finish making a film with it?) even though their color science is indistinguishable but my eyesight is better than anyone else’s bcz I drink fresh yogurt every day. perhaps you just need to learn how to operate the buttons.” ?
  18. I'm talking about remote apps because he's talking about vlogging and neither camera has a flippy screen. The fuji app is restricted to 720p and Sony's app is primitive, though it does allow 4K. But I'm glad your needs and wants take precedence over everyone else's. Got a problem with my recommending the G7? There happens to be a lot of interest in remote apps in our community. Why don't you crawl back into your cave?
  19. He sounds just like I did when I first started shooting with the X-T2. For content creation, neither one is ideal. Just get a $500 G7, use the remote app and save yourself a bundle.

    A mockup of Fuji’s 33mm f/1 - can we say this is a massive achievement? ?
  21. I’m genuinely surprised myself for not noticing the unmistakable sentiment running throughout numerous threads in various forums that full frame is the ‘be all and end all’ format as well as for not seeing the overwhelming consensus that Olympus is doomed if they don’t embrace full frame. How foolish of me!
