  1. Hi - I need to replace the rear element in my Iscorama Cinegon and wondered if anyone can offer any advice. Would it be a case of like for like (finding another Cinegon which might defeat the object) or another iscorama lens - or is it possible to get one made up somewhere?
  2. Isco 2000 has one area of separation on the rear element but is otherwise in great condition with very little dust. It's a metal bodied solid lens that can work on full frame and crop sensors. Separation is common on Isco 2000s and this shouldn't affect the image. Comes with front and back caps and original projector mount as pictured. I've taken a pic on crop sensor and could borrow a full frame if you'd like to see a sample. Or if you want any other samples let me know and I'll see what I can do. Photo was taken handheld on a 58mm helios. £450. '> '> '> '> '> '> '> LA7200 - in great condition with very little dust (easy to open up and clean what is there) and no scratches or marks on the glass. As far as I know this is the 1.33 lens that goes the widest. £550. '> '> '> Bolex Moller 8/19/1.5 - this is almost as new with very few marks on the body. Front and rear elements both totally clean - no marks or anything. I've only spotted a couple of specs of dust. And very rare for one of these lenses comes with front and rear lens caps. I'm looking for £900 or thereabout for this lens.
  3. Sorry a bit confused about this post - digital sensors = anamorphic redundant - when the pixel count is a mere aside to the qualities the different lenses offer. A cinemorph stuck on a normal lens can't match the wonderful and organic aesthetic of a Bolex Moller for example. Try some real anamorphics and see how they feel...
  4. Yeah some great pics in there - I think there's still room for the LA7200 alongside the SLRMagic and other 1.33s. It offers a possible wider angle, and somehow has a different feel to the SLRMagic - the flares are certainly easier on the eye - I find the flares that I've seen from the SLRMagic a bit unfriendly.
  5. I'm selling one of these lenses if anyone's interested - a bit flat out on an edit at the moment but I'll take some stills when I can and post them. It's a gorgeous lens, as is the 8/19/1.5. Great photos Seb - some real gems in there. And you're a top duck wrangler it seems.
  6. There's been a lot of rubbishing of the LA7200 lately but it can still produce lovely stuff like Spencer Estabrooks posted - if used correctly you can get lovely detail in the close ups and great wide shots as well. Spencer said he shot this some time ago on an unhacked GH1 with a 24mm lens:
  7. Does look great - nice one - lovely textural shots. What's Dark Energy?
  8. Yeah I think the LA7200 looks great actually - I think it's a matter of personal preference but I much prefer the LA7200's flares - and something else I can't quite put my finger on - I think i'd have to see the full res footage. But the first film with artist Andy Lee is the best stuff I've seen from the SLR Magic so far.
  9. Just an update - having reviewed the footage Bernie agrees that the light scratching on the front element does affect the image - a slight softening and mistiness in places - with the white glowing a little more than usual. In places this actually looks great and used for the right occasion could be the icing on the cake. As Bernie puts it: 'Some people would DIE for that footage !!!!! You know how many people would love to have that look ?'
  10. Here is a pic - I was hoping to have the chance to shoot some vid but didn't (babies!) and even the still is only hand held so could be perhaps sharper - Hopefully I'll be able to add something better on wednesday! Photo was taken with the lens that has the serial number on an 550d. http://www.flickr.com/photos/23033638@N00/11909895424/
  11. Yes - I'd read this but don't think German manufacturer's back then would be so arbitrary or random about numbering lenses and I was wondering if they were made as batches for different purposes - like for example commercial sale, military (I remember reading somewhere that these lenses were developed for military use.) ... ? And then if there was any difference optically or they are as identical as can be.
  12. Does anyone know the difference between these two Iscorama 2001s - if there is any? '' target='_blank'>> BTW I'm selling one soon if anyone's interested?
  13. It varies depending on how much needs doing - but mine cost US$225+postage and there was also a tax charge. It's definitely worth it!!!
  14. Selling my Moller Anamorphot - it's a lovely lens with strong character. It's also been fully serviced by Bernie of Super16inc fame which means it's had a full clean/lube/adjust/good talking to/collimation. Note that this lens is a Moller 32 not Bolex-Moller 16/32 but Bernie said that optically they're very similar. On the rear element the coating is a little marked and there is light scratching on the front element, but Bernie didn't think these would have an adverse affect on the final image. I shot a quick test this morning - if you want I can send you a less compressed h264 (a smidge under 300mb) or a proresLT (860mb): I'm selling because A, I went a bit too mad over anamorphics in 2013, B, had a second baby which has meant I've had very little time to work with the lenses. If you're in London and want to check it out then let me know - paypal or cash. This is a very rare and high quality lens, which many people consider the best dual focus anamorphic available, but I don't really have an idea of price - so if I tot up what I paid for it plus the Super16 service I'd be looking for £1,100ono.
  15. Panasonic LA7200 in great condition - a few scuffs on the lens caps, otherwise as pictured. Glass is mostly clean with very little dust. If you're in London and want to view the lens let me know. Have decided to remove the listing from ebay because of their crazy fees - £700ono. Pay paypal or cash when you see the lens.
  16. Ah yes watching it on youtube at full res - it looks great! Well done! It's got character and personality that lenses like the SLR Magic (from what I've seen so far) entirely lack.
  17. Thanks - sorry been working getting an edit done late for the last few nights and my brain is a bit mushed - by combo do you mean kit? It's very simple - a 550d with magic lantern and a range of helios lenses. Occasionally I held bits of plastic in front of the lens - can't remember if that's in this film or another one!.
  18. Not wanting to stir things up any more but has this forum always been so hand bags at dawn? Are the little personal jibes here and there necessary? http://www.azlyrics.com/lyrics/beachboys/hangontoyourego.html
  19. I'm an on the fly filmer so need a set up that isn't going to lose me shots - I have two 2001s and I think for me this is the perfect lens. It's a monoblock so there's no alignment issues and as I'm not a fan of flare that's fine (although a bit of flare at the right moment is cool!) - I can use filters if I need to soften the image or discover a glow. I also have two bolex mollers 8/19/1.5s which has such a gorgeous quality to it I'm tempted to keep at least one for those for more sanguine shooting moments. I'm on a major edit at the moment so haven't had much time to play with the focus through lenses but shall do in due course. And with the possibility of defining the image capture size holding on to some 2xs might be useful - but again I'll explore this soon.
  20. I've added a pic to the gallery comparing lens sizes. Just a bit of fun while the rendering chugs on... Enjoy!   http://www.eoshd.com/comments/gallery/image/756-anamorphics-comp/
  21. Yes I think I'm going to look out for one of these. I've got a standard Century, Optex (which seems fairly identical to the Century) and a Panasonic - I just haven't had the time to compare them all yet!!! But will do.
  22. I came across this post that compares a Century Optics wide screen converter to Panasonic's LA7200: http://www.horroblepictures.com/p/cinematography.html   I have to admit that I didn't realise that Century Optics was a subsidiary of Schneider Optics. I also didn't realise there were two Century Optics adapters -the standard DS-1609-SB which is the most common on ebay, and the DS-WS13-SB which is focusable and can be zoomed through.
