Hi there, i have finished a Ducati Spec Commercial i have been working on. We shot it with a small crew of 3 people in two days. The whole promo spot was shot on the canon 5D Mark III with Magic Lantern Raw! I am really excited by what the magic lantern guys did. The raw is really great to work with and grading is a blast.

A short promo about studying in Rome. Shot in May 2013 on the Canon 5d mark 3 RAW when RAW had just been released.

Lenses primarily used: Canon 35mm IS and Canon 70-200 f2.8 mk2. I only had 2 Lexar 1000x, now I use these and 4x Komputerbay cards. Edited on Premiere, ran through Adobe Camera Raw in After Effects first to get better debayer and graded on Davinci Resolve.    I hope you like it, let me know your thoughts!   >

Those examples are mostly due to limitations on the part of the person grading.  Using canned or popular LUTs found on the internet is going to proliferate the same look and/or mistakes.  Color is a more difficult subject to master than operation of the camera itself.  Professionals have been struggling with it since the arrival of the earliest raw cinema cameras.

Look at early Red and Alexa and you see looks and mistakes repeated again and again, creating the false assumption in a lot of people there was a "look" for them.  That lie lives on but now we have, as colorists have become more sophisticated and specific in their handling of these cameras along with improvements in color pipelines, films that share no similarities with the early footage and radically different aesthetics from the same camera.

i have the mod and yes its expensive but im glad i got it.

besides the metal housing protecting the lens, it makes it much stronger, so im not so worried about the plastic shrinking, deforming when focusing. i think it can take much more abuse.

you will need lens support. it does get heavy enough that i think itd rip out a m4/3 mount, and stress out an ef mount.

close focus at 3'7" rocks. you still need a diopter to achieve the nice bokeh i feel, but now ive got so much more flexibility.

i do think the weight and increased throw makes it become less of a one man crew lens when using it. and if youre using a follow focus, you need to use use a thick gear and a speed crank to take care of the long throw. metal focus gear on metal focus gear will make noise. (im looking for a rubber focus gear on my follow focus.) the front element extends long enough you can probably forget using a mattebox. but this is all how i feel about the 54 anyway. both a rehoused 36 and 54 are amazing lenses but in my opinion they still produce different results.

i also agree w tferradans in that i wouldnt have rented out the plastic version just because i dont think its robust enough. (i havent rented mine out yet and dont expect to until i figure out how to protect my investment in case someone says "it's lost").

and yes i think the resale value goes up. unless van diemen can crank out the mod in a week, youre not only reselling the lens, youre reselling the amount of time it took to get the mod in the first place which is a few months and seems like some people need/want the iscorama urgently enough to pay for it.

i say if you seriously get use out of your 36, shoot a lot, and you have friends/crew that can AC for you, then get it. i absolutely love mine, its on my camera 95% of the time.

if youre iscorama is nice and greased up, youre only shooting tests and youre a one man crew and really not using it that much, i dont think think the mod is worth that money.

the scam mainly works and exists and perpetuated by people that do not have the lens.

they rely 100% on other peoples fotos.

they are usually ignorant of foto and lens talk type questions will say i am not at home for a few days so cannot get to the lens.

nothing wrong with bank transfers nothing wrong with money transfers ebay and paypal are just as corrupt as any scumbag thief.
they take 100s of millions of dollars from honest listings and fake ones they still charge the saint and the crook.
check sellers past sales any foto stuff any history in that area what are the other sales.

video confererance call skype whatever video on mobile or dealing with known people i suppose helps.
the scam survives based on other peoples fotos.

it relies on quick ebay listing giving out email address or hacking of dorment account for the listing.
speed and natural greed of humans 2 iscoramas for the price of one for fuck sake come on folks.

proofs of iscorama life fotos shot with it proof other than ad type stuff is all that is needed holding it up in front of a ipad already.

    Qioptiq Linos MeVis-C 35mm f1.6 C-mount lens

I've order a special machined step up flat ring, then unscrew from the C-mount lens the ring that maintains the glass, then replace by the flat ring. I've screwed the original Berthiot small clamp, then screw and aligned the anamorphic.
This combination of these two lenses seem to be very promising. Sharpness and no vignetting :)

Here is the set and two pictures taken with it on my OMD (video is coming soon). Thanks for your attention.

Interestring that you were searching the perfect 8mm anamorphic. Perfection is hard to find. For sure many of us are addicted to anamorphics. Searching, collecting, selling. It is not so easy to be happy with what you have. You own or have owned many anamorphics I think (Iscorama, Lomos...) Great that you found the full package now!  :)
I like the tiny Bolex Möller so much: Lightweight and very easy to use instead of double focussing. After one day of practice you can do some rack focussing as well.

i a making 2 new screw adapters for the small isco 36 type one split in 2 parts so using one part you much closer optic to optic coupling.
the other a very posh screw thread system that you can wind the 52mm thread in towards the isco or out towards the taking lens.
you can change the optic to optic relationship difference in a pretty big range giving you super close distance or standard distance.
quickly changing adapter position depending on your taking lens.
you can also use this the adapter to change orientation another issue with old isco is the internal orientation system can get rough or difficult or sometimes uncouples over time

Zmu reacted to tony wilson in new redstan close up achromatic diopter
ever wondered what leica or cooke taylor hobson could do if they made something like the tokina achromatic diopter.

well in about 3 weeks i should have the finest close up ever.
82mm doublet +0.25 classic single coated optics using ohara and schott germany glass.
way superior than the tokina +0.4 optimised for 5d size sensor using iscorama, cooke speed panchro and leica r as the set up.
this close up will be a fine match for the finest most expensive high end new or old optics.

anyone who thinks these new generation anamorphics from letus and slr magic will not need a double element close optics is clearly not very sharp : )
a simple test on those 2 new china lens shot at f1.8 or even f2.8  with an achromatic doublet and without should make things clear.
these new anamorphics are single element  optics just like the century and the panasonic optics.
maybe revised and improved  but still single element..
sometin got a give somewhere in the system.

as we all understand stopping optics down to f4-5.6 clears up the image and makes even poor optics look sweet.
achromatic correction is kind of cool and if you like the new anamorphic lens concepts coming sticking a decent bit of double element glass in front of bad single element can only help A
3 cheers for Chester Moore Hall the man that came up with the concept of bending light ray achromatic correction.

Zmu reacted to Sean Cunningham in BMCC - looking for the widest option.
If you haven't bought it yet get the MFT mount instead and a Metabones Speed Booster and you're back in business with the 11-16mm (assuming appropriate adapter can be worked out).

The LA7200 can be used with wider lenses than just about any other anamorphic adapter.  It's worth a shot though 11mm is wider than I've ever read being compatible.  You should check out the anamorphic forum and study up on the diopters you're going to need to make it feasible though.  You're better off buying a Speed Booster and getting more FOV that way, if you can change your order from EF to MFT.

An LA7200 is going to cost well over a thousand dollars, until something like the SLR Magic anamorphic lens is for sale and when that happens there will be little reason to spend $1500 on a used LA7200 when you could spend that on a new adapter that doesn't absolutely require diopters to be useful for nominal shooting.  You could easily spend as much as the price of a brand new BMCC on an LA7200 and the necessary diopters.  A Speed Booster is under $500.

I'm mister complainer because this forum has become plagued by people like you, who pretend to be ignorant, then bang! - he wants to sell it.  Then he's gone.  Your purpose here was to gather information about something you are trying to sell under false pretences.  2 days research?  2mins is enough to tell you how much the thing is worth.  You came on here to sell it.

I don't personally lose anything from your actions.  I imagine your plans to list it for a high price will go on to increase the value of my own iscorama.  What I, and many others here are sick of is new leaches coming out of the woodwork, sucking all the good from this place.

I feel I contribute positively to this forum.  You on the other hand have brought nothing.  so in this context you are the arse hole.
