1. It is a little pricey at 650! I think $500 is a little more reasonable but it was worth it to me to have something pocketable and not as imposing as a dslr
2. So happy to see the RX100 on this list. It is certainly not the best performer but I think for its price point exhibits the most innovation and progression in camera technology this year. I wish the RX1 would have followed suit with a zoom lens, but I really what Sony has done with the "RX" line so far and hope to see more.
3.   No reason to buy the 6D if the 5D3 is in your price range.    Nikon D800 is another nice option again if you dont mind the moire. The D600 would probably be frustrating as you can not change the aperture in live view. Though i suppose if you only use manual lenses thats not a huge deal
4. I THINK the A99 is the only one that does 1080/60, but it suffers from moire/aliasing like crazy. Same with the VG900 camcorder. Still, If that doesn't bother you i've seen some beautiful footage out of the A99.   With the recent price drops it seems like the 5D is really the way to go if you really want full frame.
5. I'd say go with the H1, its very versatile. I recorded all of the interviews in this video, if you'd like a practical example of it.    https://vimeo.com/54959895   Also recorded this on the H1 - its good for a little bit of everything    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TK_fyRXJ4W4
6. It depends on the situation. If you are plugging the rhode directly into the camera then no. It will pick up a ton of background noise. I use the H1 for interviews all the time - just get it close to the speaker and set the levels
7. The H1 does not work like a shotgun mic - it pics up a lot more ambient sound. If you are recording interviews or dialouge, especially in a noisy location, you will want it pretty close to the subject. If you were recording a performance or B roll then leaving it on the camera should be fine
8. I've yet to see it - but everyone of my facebook friends that has seen it has absolutely loved it, even my friend that hates every movie ever. Doubt many of them have seen it in 48fps. I am curious to give it a watch
9. I want manual exposure control! Or exposure lock or something to that extent

What lens is this?

Too funny! We've all been there...

What lens is this?

Just ordered the adapter, as if I need to spend any more money right now. Will do some test shots when I get it in Friday!

What lens is this?

Lol!! I'm not sure that would end up too well with the "push-pull" design. I'd probably extended it so I could fill that sucker up, then zoom out and spew coffee everywhere

What lens is this?

2nd question, is it worth anything? Should i buy a cheapo OM adapter and mess with it or should I just sell it on ebay?
14. Hey folks! Stumbled across this lens the other day at a flea market, picked it up for $5! Problem is I have no clue what it is. I'm not even sure what brand it is. Any ideas? What kind of mount it is as well? Will it work on a Canon crop or full frame? If it ain't worth 5 bucks, at least its a nice decoration :)
15. I agree, however I think it is only being made into 2 movies
16. You'll probably need something like the Sandisk extreme pro - they record 95mb/s    They're a bit expensive though!      http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B007NDL56U/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&keywords=sandisk%20extreme%20pro&qid=1355172007&sr=8-2
17. THey are retailing for 2900 now, used they still go for 2600. That deal lasted for less than a day unfortunately.
18. This is a pretty funny video...and the battery grip idea is actually pretty good!    Do you guys have any fantasy camera desires?     http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UAD8Ez3Wx9g&feature=g-subs-u

200mm without IS

Wasn't expecting such a debate! haha   Anyway...I just sold a trumpet which means I'll probably be buying a 5D3 and not a lens :) Thanks for the insight anyway

200mm without IS

Yeah, bearing in mind I'm also on a crop sensor. With a full frame sensor and a handheld rig i'd try it in a pinch. I wouldn't want to do it without IS   I will be locked down on a tripod though. Just wasnt sure if it might still be jittery while i'm pulling focus or whatever

200mm without IS

Lol, wont be doing that! I've used the 70-200 2.8 IS with a monopod and that was perfectly usable. A few shaky shots here and there. The only handheld use for me will by photos during the day time   Thanks for the input.

200mm without IS

Hey folks - simple question here. Is a 200mm prime going to be useable without IS on a crop sensor? Even on a tripod? I ask because the Canon 200mm 2.8l is available used for pretty cheap. I'd like the depth of field options introduced by having a telephoto, but don't want to bother if its going to be too jittery. I'd use it mostly for filming interviews but also for photographing nature
23. For something a little different...check this out. For portability/flexibility I love it, and I love having a rechargeable or plug in option   http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/839342-REG/Westcott_5500_LED_Ice_Light.html
24. There are tons of options!!! Do you have a budget in mind?
25. For weddings...I dont think the BMCC would be much fun to use, or edit with unless you're shooting pro res. I'd so go with the 5d3 in your situation
