  1. Gleb, use your money and buy a cam that has filmic properties. GH4 screams video and your movie will suffer in the long run. Just my 2 cents. Good luck.
  2. Unfortunately, with all this great (cool ana) tech for the price, the GH4 just looks like video. Nat Geo video. No matter what you do to it. Such a shame.
  3. I agree. The GH4 is quite nice for many applications. Amazing tech for the size/price. That being said, I personally feel cinematic look/color science is not one of them.
  4. Andrew is correct. DX mode is noticeably softer on the D750. Not worth it if you want crop sensor. Full frame is the only reason to purchase the D750 for video. Colors are fantastic. And I saw it under the most horrible video lights imaginable. If you want APS-C video, (talking DSLR's here) get the new Canon 7D2. Much better than the original 7D. However, still not as sharp or cinematic as the D750.
  5. Matt, It's because for whatever tech reason, the GH4 doesn't process colors the way 5 years of 5D2 have spoiled us. 10 bit isn't going to help that out of the GH4. The G series are very sharp, but have the video/bad skin tones out of the gate. You can post it, but it still doesn't look great (to my eyes and many others). Main reason (besides sensor size) you read ad nauseum about people returning their GH4's to B&H in droves. Go and search examples for yourself. The new Nikon D750/D810 process colors beautifully..really gorgeous video with a nice cinematic look..much like a Canon EOS camera. The GH4 fails in this department miserably. $25K and lower Canon and Nikon rule colors. Have tons of cash? Buy an Alexa/Amira and be done with it.
  6. Andrew is correct about the low light being MUCH better on the D750
  7. It was actually shot with the brand new Canon XL1 ! Have no idea how I could have made that mistake! Maybe in the future the sensors will get better..I'm hoping so by 1998 Haha :P Hey Andrew, too bad you don't have the tech to make everyone take an IQ test (and pass the level of a sheep) before they can post...shocking how many idiots live on planet Earth
  8. Your naievity is laughable. If you believe that (which you do) it shows your ignorance. Move to LA and get connected. Explaining how things (like the film world) happen would take too much time in a post and the knowledge may make your brain explode. Andrew runs a cool site and occasionally I contribute or ask questions. There's a lot of things I don't know. I contributed on this particular thread because I saw it. I didn't see a Sasquatch, but I did see two cams. I could care less what you think (last time I'll ever respond to a idiotic post like this) however, I'll answer it this one time. Try to open your mind about something as trivial as a camera. I realize it may be difficult for someone like you. Yes, Virginia, there is a Santa Claus, and yes, sometimes video, cams, equipment, films, etc..ad nauseum..get released far far sooner to certain people than what/when 'they' announce when it will be available to the common man. AKA- YOU. Pornography makes more money than Hollywood movies and video games combined. It's a multi-billion dollar a year industry. The dudes involved are super rich and they make shit happen. And they're far from the only ones. Decadence and money rule this city. Deal with it. Just because little guys like you have to wait for B&H to get a cam in, doesent mean some other dude out in the west coast wasn't already using that same cam 2 months earlier videotaping himself getting a blow job by a hot teen-age model. Your life is obviously quite different. Too bad for you. Sorry to bust your bubble with the truth. Cheers
  9. Hey it's been available in LA for quite a while. This dude got his D750 over a month ago. Quite a few times camera stores in LA will have cams before their 'air date'. And yea there is still quite a bit of porn shot in the valley on DSLR's. As far as brand new tech, I'd say that porn producers use it faster than Hollywood. These dudes are on it and love money.
  10. Hey guys, Just a head's up the new Nikon D750 is superior to the D810 for video. I saw proof of this in person. Sorry I cannot show you the footage. It wasn't mine and was used on an adult vid. Both cams were on the set. (D810 still better for stills - super large). On the video side, the D750 has zero moire/aliasing to speak of (you will find it on D810) and it has a flip lcd screen. It's just as sharp as the D810 (GH3 quality in 1080p but MUCH MUCH better colors!) and is 24 meg Full Frame. The lcd is sharp as hell. It has zebras, dedicated movie buttons and is lighter than D810. No peaking unfortunately but the zoom in for focus is real nice. Best of all is the low light. It's at least a stop and half over the D810. Compared them side by side. I saw some footage where 12,800 ISO looked good (great with neat video) and 6400 ISO looked damn near perfect. That's shocking for a Nikon dslr video. So you get one of the best still cameras in the world with perfect 1080p. (And yes it does 60 at 1080 and that looks fantastic as well. Could see no visible banding. In my opinion the D750 is just as pleasing as 5D raw but without the time involved. If you shoot stills and want high quality video it's something you should consider. If you only shoot stills go with the D810. For video DSLR it's a no brainer with native Nikor lenses. For mirrorless I would go A7s but if I'm 50% stills and don't need 4K, than I'm going DSLR Nikon. These dudes have upped their game. Big time. Just one man's opinion. Cheers
  11. leeys, So your saying both cameras work with the UHS-ll ? Just trying to clarify.
  12. blafarm, Just don't know. I'm honestly not sure what to believe now. I'll have to wait until I hear from someone who actually Owns the A7s, instead of listening to people that are reading info off of blogs. Which we all know everyone has a different opinion.
  13. Bùi Bách Việt - What do you feel is the best picture profile for the A7s ? - right out of the box…No color correction. I would be interested in seeing what that looks like.
  14. The colors just don't pop for a lot people. They do look a bit "off" or "washed out" or "desaturated" or whatever the catch phrase of the week is. You can tweak it to death in post, but alas, its a ton of work if your picky. Nikon and Canon colors look fantastic out of the box. I believe that's all he was trying to say.
  15. Have to agree Michael1..still waiting for a great narrative piece/with NICE color to show its head. Have not seen it.
  16. That the new PRO SDXC UHS-II will not work on the A7s. They also said that the new PRO SDXC UHS-II will NOT work on the Nikon D810 either.
  17. Thanks Ebrahim for checking the manual. I appreciate that. Yes, you're correct SSD. Will be interesting to see what this cam can do at that point.
  18. I was told by B & H that the SDXC UHS-II memory cards (which are the newest and most expensive) will NOT work on the A7s. If this is BS, from someone with personal experience I would love to know that. I know they will work for the Atomos Shogun for 4K capture. I was just double checking to see if I could in fact, use the SDXC UHS-II cards for internal 1080p HD on the Sony A7s ?
