Sorry dude, I can't help you out... Maybe you took those inserts upside down, trading places between cameras or the tricks@post among the same "mushy and blurry" flaws you find on Mavic... ; ) or those shiny edges to scream sharpness to everyone just not present in the other toy. A certain thing anyone can be sure, though: your enthusiasm seems more the like of an amateur who buys one or another one rather than someone really used to also shoot with these small sensor capture devices, if/when necessary. At least, this is the idea you leave behind the trace of your "HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA"s and alike. I'm sorry to disappoint you :-)

LOL Definitely, quote of this thread! My vote is on Mavic. Purchase, as well :-) GoPro is the most horrid camera even before the Lumière brothers did their presentation! No Protune saves the grace or its absence in pallid colors all the same from one side of spectrum to the other extreme. No idea why people dare to shoot on it other than personal stuff and a few shots as inserts when the magical hour cheats all of us...
-
Andrew, your forum software should let us for multiple 'push the like button'... ;-) There is... Interested people in such drone ready to fly, send me a private message... I guess me and my team we'll be able to supply to you one of those birds very soon :-)

I am hopeful on this toy... seems guaranteed fun. Only compression artifacts can bring me some concern. Other than that seems interesting to my eyes. 4K is more than enough. I guess soft 4K won't hurt :-)
-
IQ is not only definition. I've fairly liked the Mavic outcome much more. Actually, GoPro has always seemed to my eyes either too crispy or mushy because of compression, low color sampling and so on.

Well said. Be honest, bud. Your eye focus the chicks... ;-)

We can't know what's going there. Perhaps Luke could add anything on topic : P In any case, this announcement has already been a case study for marketeers. Their marketing à la RED will sell loads of pre-orders, at least in lots of minds here and everywhere. RED born on dvxuser. The camera (DVX100) had been a hit. More than a decade ago, but already in plain digital age. Seems Panasonic guys haven't forget one of their best lessons. The fact is also here now, in this blog, is curious and funny at same time. Canon reps look like they don't give a damn but the other fact is, who has stolen the thunder, after all? The day before 5DIV hit the streets... Let alone the specs announced versus the gospel/reality according to Canon : D

A rectangular sensor closer to a square than 16:9, without mention going with anamorphic. My friend, in the same way my semantics didn't serve to you, yours follows very well represented in that example : ) Funny, in the end, your post ended to apply a similar principle, hence to claim correction to be fair with each other ;-) 4:3 is for that as same as 1.33 TV format when TV sets used that aspect ratio or jumping to the photography example, the famous 15x10 and so on. Maybe that's me but I always set the camera to the 16:9 format instead, photos included. Now seems there'll be a 2:1 ratio in the welcome 6K photo mode, isn't it? So, here we go even less squared than ever! :X When we want to be literal or rigid, we risk to be confronted with our own side and our own fragilities; especially if we're just expecting the flow may occur only in one way and not the other way round :-)

Yes and no. In the same way, it happens with other formats, there's a sensor size for 4/3" format. Better now? ; ) To say that's related to the sensor size which is measured in mm means to be related to the sensor size used by the 4/3" format. Actually, some of these formats, as for instance, 4/3", 2/3", 1/2", 1/3", 1/4" are based on the 1" as reference unit instead. On the other hand, 4:3 is not a sensor size but the sensor aspect ratio :-)
-
Maybe that's nothing related to the sensor size, 4/3" anyway. But, the way they will implement the anamorphic in-camera. Intriguing and promising indeed.
-
Hey Luke, now your "like" button has puzzled me. What the hell APS-C is doing right there? And the whole 4/3" format glass thing?! Ain't you under NDA on GH5 development?? Will the new glass add-ons be S35??!
-
Right. Be free to wait. Who knows they will be susceptible to your claim, yeah, who knows? V-Log makes more sense addressed to 10-bit, anyways.
-
So, if they will add 100 bucks to the premium, you'll say NO to 10-bit 4:2:2 and 4K/60p for $1,500 or so because $1,600 would be too much, isn't it? ;-)
-
But, HDMI output requires to be 4K/60p accordingly...
-
Everything GoPro IQ related is simply to forget. Apples to oranges :-)

Pity only within a year... Other than the most expensive DJI, we only have these ones right now: https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1203955-REG/z_camera_e1cam3a701_e1_mini_4k_video.html https://***URL removed***/reviews/yi-m1-mirrorless-ilc-first-impressions-review/2

So, good and bad news at same time. Have you noticed the AF hunting or just not smooth at all? Did you notice if there would be any sort of eventual AF setting in order to slow down the transition? Any word on availability?
-
Hey, 7.5 seconds might already be something! It is slowmotion, don't forget. Don't recall those boring Vimeo clips to mimic Hollywood where minutes can last hours in endless pieces taken by your mind. To compete with the usual stuff of cats, dogs, babies or flowers, when not the dull girlfriend to show up the shooter knows how to give us the core of shallow DOF.
-
It doesn't make any sense. They see Westerners in a very deceptive business way. This doesn't happen with Japanese brands, I see. Shame to them.
-
Are you already multiplying by 2.5x (conformed to 24p)? If not, hard to believe they will give you a chance for useful 8-12 seconds @5K RAW (moreover, slowmotion!) for a grand. That would really be the craziest bang for the buck ever seen... XD
-
I couldn't find it because of my location, very likely. Can you post the link please?
-
You're quoting yourself now... LOL Nevermind. Take a look on this masterpiece (Still Life by Stephen van Vuuren): Shot on Pentax K10d. Stills mode.
-
Are you sure? From where have you had this information? For the subject matter, I am used to be pessimist by nature...

The more I find your posts, the more I like them :-) Unfortunately or maybe not ; ) some cameras are better than other ones, though : D
