1.11 and 1.1 are the same. Just the labelling varies.

No it is 30 fps and 25 fps. 60 and 50 are just the interlaced wrappers, in the sense that is how the 30 fps and 25 fps are delivered inside the AVCHD format.

Compared to 60D (which = 7D, 600D of course) the GF2 with hack is pretty similar overall. Colour and shadow detail is better on the Canons though. Remember however the big advantage of GF2 over those is the more adaptable mirrorless lens mount.

Cinema just underexposes basically, to protect highlights. But the way it does so reduces tonality and dynamic range. You are far better off using Smooth with a lower ISO. The GH2 has trouble enough with crushed blacks and the Cinema film mode makes that worse.

Hi Alberto. I'm afraid I don't really shoot in 1080/50i mode so can't suggest a patch for it. Mine work in 24p mode.

Nostalgic and a slightly warmer than normal white balance will help match your GH2 to the 5D Mark II. Generally.

Some thoughts on your Samyang or Nokton dilemma... Of course it isn't wide angle on the GH2. The Nokton is sharper in the centre at F1.4 but softer in the corners compared to the Samyang. The Nokton is smaller and an all metal construction. It is faster, at F0.95 but costs more. It comes down to budget. The Samyang will give a roughly similar result to the Nokton at F1.4, F2. But both are not exactly cheap lenses. As a fast portrait lens on the GH2, I'd go for a decent 35mm F1.4 or F2 instead and save a bundle of cash. If you don't mind the longer focal length the Olympus 45mm F1.8 is also very nice.

tjbates05 - Yes OLED is the future of monitoring. Far superior to IPS LCD. Much more like CRT and plasma in terms of the accuracy of colour and contrast. AZVideo - my first impressions of the NEX 7 summed up what you get over the NEX 5N for the extra dosh. Check it out, I've added a link at the bottom of the review. HDMI is not clean you always have a black bar at the side with info in it. Patrick - yes tried the Iscorama 36 with wider lenses and it goes to 35mm on the GH2. Not shot with it at 35mm on the NEX 7 yet though. cls105 - there is no Ex Tele crop mode on the NEX unfortunately.
