you should probably get in touch with the police about your concerns. I'm sure they are competent enough to get it sorted. I have no idea where that building is, but if i had of walked past it, i would have taken exactly the same photo because of the symmetry. I'd guess its close to where he works or on the way home perhaps. Heck i have even been known to drive a couple hours to photograph wheat silo's on sunset. We know diddly squat about its past, who owns it now or before and you want to break out the pitchfork and torches. my front door so you don't add me to the conspiracy list.

Took the gimbal and e-m1 to a local lookout today. didn't get to the lookout part, as there's some huge rocks and a cave atmosphere thing happening at the base. The camera gimbal combination gets heavy pretty quick. Not surprising considering my fitness level. I have grabbed some stills from todays foray Its a couple hours later now and my shoulders feel like falling off. I may have to start doing bicep curls with gimbal and camera. I had the 17mm takumar fish eye on the e-m1. Also set it f8 out in the sun and set the focus to 4m or so in front of me. Bit annoying there are no filter threads, as i would have put a vari nd on it however back then it would have been a fish eye on full frame and its understandable that filter threads probably weren't considered, although with the m43 crop, the look is not nearly so wide however. Its quite narrow in places not much wider than shoulder width but opens up about 15 meters in. Its also a trip hazard trying to go though with a gimbal in hand. Rocks and tree roots all over the place. I did do a vortex shot looking upward. Actually i tried a few things, learnt a few things. I will go back with the 24mm sirui to see what sort of difference it makes and i'm kinda looking forward to seeing the comparison. I do notice a bit of side to side movement when walking but it doesn't bother me overly much as i figure some movement is natural when walking along a trail. Sure pans and tilts should be smooth however i am curious as to other peoples expectations are? I also think i need to change the motor speeds as it pans and tilts much quicker than i would like

Thought I better flag this video up since there are some serious concerns here. I'm not sure what ALTCINE are up to: The video emphasizes certain symbols which are known to be associated with the organized ritual-abuse of childen, as reported by a Guardian Award-winning, Times / Telegraph journalist in this article here: https://vo.lc/School-Of-Fools-Aldenham.html I have taken screen-grabs of the symbols from the ALTCINE video posted above. I have highlighted the relevant symbols in green boxes: Ostensibly as a demonstration of the camera, the video then zooms into the symbol above the door, which contains one of the main symbols used by these cults: Additionally: The abacus on the capital of both columns either side of the door, precisely match the symbols used by the cult operating the Aldenham School Library (and at many other locations) where children were abused in rituals. The library can be seen in many photographs, here. I have included one below, for comparison: The symbol above the door in the ALTCINE video matches other symbols found at the same location, and many other locations of abuse, described in detail here and here. In summary, there's no gentle way to put this: For some reason the ALTCINE video is full of occult pedophile-symbolism. The Power Of Symbols Naturally, there may be some explanation for this: The makers of the video are unaware of the occult (hidden) purpose of the building in their video. However, the problem we have is that pedophiles actively use these symbols to demark territory, and to signal to each other that their behavior is socially acceptable; sometimes by including the symbols in videos and movies. These symbols are also designed to trigger an unconscious fear response in those who were abused in conjunction with these symbols, as children. Basic associative-conditioning. This may be very hard for some of us to accept, but there are those who walk among us who take immense pride in their abuse of children, and flaunt their 'power' in the architecture of buildings, and the media they create that includes these symbols. Let's hope ALTCINE made a serious mistake here. But to me, it looks intentional.

No, not were, oh gosh, they still are: https://vimeo.com/channels/staffpicks Here's one (perfectly random), just added 10 days or a week ago: Use a VPN or proxy tool as add-on to your browser... Looks like they serve not only to China! As easy as the need for a cup of water! : ) Andrew is right, they look like to play pranks on us but there should be some sorta legal background to their idea of blocking it in certain regions such as EU, I'm afraid. We may become a Soviet Union, full of regulations like Pink Floyd's two lost souls in a fishbowl or such as the 1:30 rule for leverage on financial markets to only mention in specific a single example versus the world outside 'the West'... : X Go figure, U.S. is not better now with China playing the part of the free market's best friends... We live all in a comedy, no many doubts out here. For some reason Brexit happened... ; ) Later on, don't blame the messenger! ;- ) I wonder if Putin would ever have invaded Ukraine in the way he did three years ago... We should never show our weaknesses. Not underrate who don't like or compete with us. Rule number one and rule number two :- ) - EAG

Action cam / 360 / GoPro etc. thread
Emanuel replied to Andrew Reid's topic in Gimbal / DJI / Drone / Action Cameras
I already do it daily, just not here... ; ) Well, I think it's natural Andrew has a scope for his forum on his favourite tools. Nothing against, I actually share his love as I'm sure everyone here do. The fact we have now a sub-forum especially dedicated to these other tools only bring those people there really interested to look for information on them, so I believe such approach ends helpful. So far, a new thread I started here 24 hours ago has only about 1/5 of the views compared to one in the main section. It really narrows down the audience to those specifically interested in these tools, which is kind of a bonus. Yet regarding your comment about energy drinks, I suggest it’s better to finish with water instead ;- ) -

New details dropping today: https://petapixel.com/2025/06/04/gfx-eterna-sensor-formats-film-simulations-and-more-revealed/ - Will include OLPF - Adds readout modes including 3840x2880 full sensor open gate (up to48fps), additional anamorphic ff modes, and super35 modes up to 6k. PP also lists the 5.8k 2.39:1 full sensor width mode as new, but that exists on the GFX 100 II already. - Codecs seem to match GFX 100 II - Supports 3D LUT - Film simulations which seem mostly to match GFX 100 II - Custom frame guides - Remote control of multiple cameras - Bluetooth LE support for some accessories - Monitor will be a 5 inch 16:9 panel with 6.22 million dots and a max brightness of 2000 nits, onboard display is a 3 inch 3:2 panel with 1.04 million dots and 700 nit max brightness For me, it's not differentiating very strongly from the GFX 100 II yet. Maybe the next tranche of information will distinguish it more. Otherwise, it's hard to see why I wouldn't just put a cage on my GFX 100 II, put in a dummy battery, and get 90% of the same camera - and a super portable stills camera otherwise. OLPF could be nice for video, sure, but almost definitely not nice enough to make up the difference in cost. I can say with some certainty that Super 35 modes are not the thing that would sell a GF Eterna cinema camera to me. 🤣

Sure, but still you need to watch 1000 videos before you find one decent video. It works great for informational video's, but actual commercials, brand videos that are inspirational seems hard to find. The ratio on skilled crew on vimeo looks way higher. In vimeo for example "the staff picks" were great.
-
It's a shame about Vimeo, they have been an absolute clown show. But I think YouTube does the job well. The way to use it is to get premium, to nuke all the ads. Much better then.

zerocool22 started following Video inspiration site need?
-
Hi, Now that vimeo is not allowing any searches in europe. I was wondering If I should create a website, that allows people to post their vimeo/youtube links on it or share links from other creators that are inspirational or just are amazing work. Where viewers can search, comment, like it trough this website. As it is hard to find good stuff on youtube for inspiration, and now without vpn impossible on vimeo. Is there interest in this type of website? Let me know, if there is enough interest I will build one. As it will only work if enough creators start sharing work on this site. Cheers!

you should definitely get the sub editors job Emanuel.. i mentioned earlier energy drinks briefly in a round about way, couldn't believe my eyes today when i spied this today. I have never been a fan of energy drinks, now i know why. -
This is coming from another thread: «You can (...) adjust the depth and spatial feel to match your subject, scene, or even your own natural IPD. Reflect how you see the world or push it into a more artistic or exaggerated direction. The Flex mod unlocks new creative freedom without the cost or complexity of professional cinema rigs.» «But that’s not all. The Q3U VR180 Flex allows you to adjust the IPD mid-shot, introducing a new visual language in immersive filmmaking. Just like pulling focus or zoom in traditional cinematography, pulling IPD can now be used as a powerful creative tool.» Here is: https://deovr.com/blog/211-introducing-the-q3u-vr180-flex

I believe this is a balanced approach, it clarifies the main topics for discussion and directs attention where it’s most needed. Here’s a somewhat random mix of a few threads on topic beyond the typical action camera I think it could be moved to this new sub-forum: https://www.eoshd.com/comments/topic/35063-aerial-phototography-rules-for-the-use-of-light-devices/ https://www.eoshd.com/comments/topic/39684-dji-mavic-mini-just-landed/ https://www.eoshd.com/comments/topic/89481-dji-mini-4-pro-obstacle-avoidance/ https://www.eoshd.com/comments/topic/40988-180-vr-immersive-film-making/ https://www.eoshd.com/comments/topic/75642-dji-pocket-3/#comment-578334 https://www.eoshd.com/comments/topic/84829-osmo-pocket-3-2-questions-about-filters https://www.eoshd.com/comments/topic/84770-osmo-pocket-3-gimbal-problem-help https://www.eoshd.com/comments/topic/84566-dji-osmo-pocket-3-or-dji-action-4-for-me https://www.eoshd.com/comments/topic/87555-osmo-pocket-3-o-sony-rx-100-v https://www.eoshd.com/comments/topic/69798-the-best-smalllight-gimbal https://www.eoshd.com/comments/topic/90169-nimble-gimbal-suggestions https://www.eoshd.com/comments/topic/90138-smartphone-camera-module-with-a-100mp-43-sensor https://www.eoshd.com/comments/topic/88537-4k-120fps-is-now-on-iphone/ https://www.eoshd.com/comments/topic/89860-vivo-x200-pro/ There are many others like this specific one where new add-on has popped up here — not yet posted, I guess: https://www.eoshd.com/comments/topic/88502-qoocam-3-ultra-360º-camera-with-8k-10bit-color-and-4k120fps/ ...but now, here is: https://www.facebook.com/silverqsy/posts/pfbid0hgWfVGeiLXuEpbRNChU8xGWuAjndXdh9s62rCwGA3afj5WiMMnEGiRsUDkvKshR7l -

I have read somewhere there's a new gopro coming out around september ? I also watched about two minutes of some kind of spam youtube video about the next gopro but it contained nothing new. So i doubt i'll actually watch anything more till they actually bring something out. Not that i intend to buy, more curious than anything. In some ways the gopro ship has sailed for me. I like a wide shot but not interested in a super wide look. I tend to shoot in linear mode to make things look a bit more normal. I'm also not a fan of a new model every year, until i manage to break it i wont need another gopro / action camera. I only get two pockets on a shirt, one has a phone it it and the other reading glasses. the phone is heavy enough as it is. I could conceivably get an osmo in the pocket with the reading glasses. However i dont want to buy one to find out it doesn't fit. I also wonder how robust the osmo is, it looks kinda frail to me. I would be very agitated if putting a seat belt on breaks the bloody thing. I did see on the news last night a volcano eruption in Italy i think ? a bunch of tourists running for their lives with a cloud of ash spewing out behind them. What i thought ironic was all the selfie sticks pointing backwards towards the volcano capturing themselves running away, bit like lemmings.. -
It's quite funny how Sigma made the perfect zoom lens for the S9, but it's not viable for video on the FP because it lacks stabilization. On the other hand Panasonic made the 28-200 WITH stabilization and it is perfect on the FP. I love the long focal range but I'd probably trade the 70-200 for the 2.8 aperture in most situations. On the other hand It is also a lot of fun to use the very high apertures of the 28-200 past F16 (highest is F45 on the long end). I actually sold my voigtländer 40mm 1.2 for the zoom. Shooting at F32 and never carrying around ND filters anymore. 😄

HDMI connector with seperate USB power arrived today and solves the flicker. It seems like once the EVF has had enough power to start it runs fine because I can just disconnect the USB after starting the camera. It also works with the USB Output of my NPF Battery while thats powering the FP. Not sure how I feel about all the cables but it really is amazing to use this EVF on the FP. Thanks again for making this thread! Another option would be to just use a really small power bank to "turn on" the viewfinder.

All music at soundimage.org is now free for commercial use
Eric Matyas replied to Eric Matyas's topic in Cameras
Hey everyone, It's been a very busy week, but I did manage to create and upload a new free music track to share with the community. You'll find it on my Puzzle Music 8 page: "BOUNCE LIGHT 3 " https://soundimage.org/puzzle-music-8/ Btw, the tracks on these pages can be used for all kinds of things besides puzzle games...that's just the first genre that comes to mind when I create them. Give them a listen! 🙂 CUSTOM MUSIC Need some custom music created for your project? Well, they say if you want something to get done, give it to someone who's busy...and that would definitely be me. I work with multiple clients all the time so feel free to email me if you need help. My contact info is here: https://soundimage.org/custom-work/ Ogg MUSIC PACKS are here: https://soundimage.org/ogg-music-packs-2/ https://soundimage.org/ogg-game-music-mega-pack/ And a brand new video preview of my Ogg Music Mega Pack is here: https://youtu.be/W7yQVscjqUM?si=ZOALTyvdNwr0Wox9 It runs about an hour and is actually kind of fun to listen to while doing other stuff. Give it a try! In the meantime, please stay safe and keep creating awesome stuff. -
It's my favourite lens for video. Easily. Has been for I think this is the third year with it? Maybe the 4th, - since it was launched anyway. It's under 500g, barely extends, fixed aperture, works like a 42-105 in crop mode, has some character and...well what is not to like really? You can keep your much larger and heavier 24-70's! The Tamron 28-75mm f2.8 is just as viable and I have that also. For stills this year and last, though if I switch to Nikon or Sony for video next year, will use that instead.
-
That 28-70 is just so versatile for it's size. I really want to shoot with primes, but similar to you it seems, the flexibility of that zoom is just too good to ignore most times. I keep the 20-60 close by if I need to go wider, but I've been eyeing that 18mm.
