Removing lens coatings - Anyone tried it?

wouldn't that depend on the camera and or your software ?  Not sure the lens does much correcting by itself, but theres a good chance i'm wrong about that 🙄 

Some time ago i did buy a old nikon zoom just for this sort of  lens flare, which may not be everyone's cup of tea. However i liked it

No the lens does not correct anything that I know of, I meant turn off the corrections in the camera body somehow. Years ago you would have a hard time shooting even a 24mm lens without distortion. Now we go down to 16mm even less and it works on a FF camera.
