GH5s Timelapse Issue

Hi Guys, anyone here has shot timelapse with GH5s? Lately, I had a project shooting timelapse with it... and had some issues.

The first problem, intermittently... the camera will stop shooting and came out a dialogue box that asked me to turn off and on the camera. After reboot the camera, the camera will continue shooting the timelapse in the same sequence... but the problem will come again couple of times in random. The interval of my timelapse is around 5sec per frame.

second, my setup was 5sec interval.... set at aperture priority, Lumix 7-14mm... shooting day to night timelapse... when the shutter hit more than a second... sometimes it opened not not closing back... and cause the camera to jam and keep recording... hanged and not responding.. had to take out the camera battery to reactivate the camera.

third issue... when rendering the timelapse into 4k video, it splitted into few different video files... probably cause by the camera stopped or hanged half way... but the camera didn’t indicate it stop the timelapse sequence... it just says ‘pause’....

Any thoughts or sharing would be much appreciated.

thanks, Eric.

maybe try an external intervalometer if such a thing is available for your camera. you could also try a longer interval between photos sometimes it depends on how fast your camera writes files to memory card and how fast that memory card actually is. inbuilt  camera intervalometers can be somewhat ordinary at times as well. have you done many timelapses before ? had any trouble then? theres a whole bunch of variables that have to be considered, like summer or winter camera getting hot jpeg or raw perhaps you can experiment to narrow the odds down .

Hi all, happy new year of 2021 and I have made a timelapse video by DJI pocket2 at across night and day time at the first day of 2021.Really love to use this tiny machine for motionlapse and I wish DJI can upgrade the firmware to support 4K output of timelapse directly!

Years ago, Tahnee was in a wheelchair and doctors told her she would never be able to dance again. Now she is one of the world's most talented dancers and choreographers.

Looking to sell my GH5(mint condition), with battery grip, along with a metabones speedbooster, and three Minolta lenses. Also comes with 4 batteries.

      The lenses are 24mm 2.8, 35mm 1.8, and 50mm 1.4
The Battery grip is a great addition, letting you record continuously for at least 3 hours straight. The image coming out of the GH5 is pretty amazing. Incredibly detailed image, free from moire and aliasing. The IBIS is amazing allowing you to shoot handheld without any shake. The speedbooster gives you a S35 field of view and an extra stop of light. Combined with the fast minolta glass you can get some really nice images at 3200 iso in low light. The minolta lenses give the image a cinematic feel. The 35mm 1.8 is especially nice being very sharp wide open. The GH5 allows you to crop in to get more reach out of the lenses too.
Selling because I recently purchased an URSA mini and already have two Fuji cameras. This was my second time purchasing a GH5 and I'll probably be back to it at some point, but alas this one has to go for now. The GH5 is like the ultimate run and gun camera, at least for the price.

For the past 3 years I have been working full-time as a volunteer with a non-profit organization creating videos and motion graphics for them. For a majority of this time I have been living in Thailand on the field with them. This is small snapshot of some of the projects I have created with them.

The camera is in excellent condition without any marks. It comes in its original box with all original accessories including battery, charger, sync cable, strap, manual, etc. The 8Sinn cage is wonderful- it fits the camera like a glove and gives it plenty of mounting points for accessories. Price includes insured shipping to anywhere in continental U.S. via USPS Priority Mail.

Payment using Paypal or Cash App.
