I am speechless... this is ML cinema camera series 2.0.
Yes indeed, this deserves every single donation they can raise. It is the very least decent thing we all users can do.

I decided to play around with ML raw on the EOS M again, and test out my Angeniuex 8-64mm 1.9 Super 8 zoom lens.

FX3 & FX30 just got a major 3.0/2.0 update today that adds Anamorphic De-Squeeze, True 24p, 4K DCI Recording.. and Breathing Compensation:
Excellent news for users wanting more cine features and this really starts to tie these cameras to the rest of the FX line.
Pretty sure this is the first time an alpha camera gets DCI 4K. About time!

Right, 60p gives good cinematic outcome, when slowmo comes to the equation... : D
But wait, is it supposed YT to be or look cine-like? As designed for small screen form factor such as mobile phones and alike?!

I agree with Django that feels like home video vibe, I really dont like the 50p/60p mode on youtube except for sports which i dont mind.
Good thing in PAL land is 25P still feel cinematicish vs 30p on NTSC

archaic motion? 24p is still the current cine standard. double frame rate output is literally what is called the soap opera effect:
Creating frames in-between the 24 original frames makes the movie (24FPS) look like a soap opera (30/60FPS), and this is something that many viewers don't like.

Why does 60fps look like a soap opera?
It's due to motion. Soap Operas use cheaper cameras that shoot in 60 FPS rather than film that is 24 FPS. Basically, you've become accustomed to the dreamlike motion of 24 FPS being interpolated for 60 Hz TVs and now attribute higher frame-rates like 48 FPS to that of a lower quality production.
haven't we been through this before? not sure why you're getting so offended, you're the one throwing the word "cinematic" around. Sure takes more than a LUT to achieve the look. correct fps is a good place to start but hey keep ignoring this advice and do as you please. just don't get mad if people call out the videoish look of such motion, I'm far from being alone on this. in fact you are probably the only person I know around here or even on YT who consistently outputs 60p on a cine cam.

60p output will always have the dreaded soap opera camcorder look. Just convert the file in a 24p timeline if you want it to look "cinematic". Even the ZV-E1 knows this and switches to 23.98p when you enter cinematic mode.

Awesome production, it truly had all the feel of the start of a Hollywood Christmas movie. Even more impressive considering the crew you were working with.

@kaylee that is pretty incredible, I've never even heard of something like that, I had to reread your post just to figure out what I was looking at.

It sounds like this is the Christmas thread so here is my contribution; much less exciting than both of yours but it fits with the Christmas spirit 😀 For the following video I used the Canon C70 as the A cam (wide shot) and the Canon R7 for the closeups. The C70 was shooting 12bit raw, with the Canon EF 24-105mm and the speedbooster. The Canon R7 was set to compressed IPB, 4KFine with the Canon RF 70-200mm F2.8.
Both cameras were set to CLOG3 Cinema Gamut, post processed in DR and color graded using DR's managed color. The opening detail shots were shot with the Canon R5 since I had already set up the R7 and C70 on their tripods.

They're far to be the same method to arrive to the same outcome under much variable circumstances. What's your favorite method?
    Some food for thought here:
    OIS | DIS
    2nd sample
    OIS on vs off
    vs IBIS
    2nd sample
..."however neither will fall people into thinking that they're a gimble move"  I believe this quote on minute 04:57 resumes the whole thing anyway...
BTW, here's an interesting article to testify why for some reason R5C has no IBIS at all:

Yeah, 8K50/60P internally in RAW format only.  If you have PD-powerbank connect to R5C it will power the lens and AF as well.

    around 15ms same as 24-30p, 8ms 120p

the above chart is misleading as it seems for photo not video, r3 is 9.9 in ff 24-60

Dunno, dunno... Is this actually bad?! Really?
Well, no idea about y'all fellows, but I've had a few cases where the manufacturers don't even admit any faulty unit, just to not mention any QC issues... go figure! : P

In a line, glad they did it : ) So I guess they've actually done it in the other way round to my book instead.

Comes to my mind... sorta when a teen ignores the beautiful curves of the new chick on the block just to avoid how to afford the high expenses for courting her... LOL ;- )

If using internal battery, if powered external there is IS from the lens.

So, no IS provided in-lens going with 8K 50p/60p?

From the official spec it was always clear that 8K 50/60 works with internal battery only without AF and IS, with external power AF IS works as normal including EF lenses.
If I recall correctly that Gordon got it working on internal battery 8k 50p (not 60) with AF and IS but it was a pre release camera. This could even be lens dependent as I can imagine that you need less power for a 35 1.8 IS than for a 400 2.8 IS lens or could be that the final firmware simply does not allow it anymore as it may not be reliable.

As far as I could understand, we strictly need external battery to reach 8K RAW LT 50p going with AF + IS but both work with RF lens (I guess with EF lens adapter too?), correct?
How come and from where comes that information you mention to be more precise mate @gt3rs?
