The video was an improvisation test focused on capturing the human face using my modded phone. It wasn’t a planned shoot, just a quick experiment to see how the device performs in real conditions. Unfortunately, many clips were deleted because I didn’t have a tripod and was holding the phone by hand, which made some recordings unstable or unusable.

I am planning to use it on my custom phone with a Linos Mevis c mount 16mm lens. But it will work also with a bigger sensor. In the past I have used super 8 babies on full frame with great results.

Yeah, I should film something, raw files takes a lot of space and at the moment my computer cannot handle it. The app runs out very well actually, full sensor 4k 24fps and 60fps raw. At the moment I am concentrating at the character and IQ, I am glad to say that the cellular phone look is almost gone at least to my eyes. Thanks 🙏

This is a test on how a pronounced oval bokeh can be achieved using a phone thanks to the freedom of changing lenses. Close up and infinity with a 2x anamorphic with Helios 58mm.

I will to some video test soon whenever I get some time off. Meanwhile you can have look at the tutorial. Having the the control of the lens in your hand and the character of a real lens is another game. I wish anyone would try the feeling. It's amazing, I am waiting for some more lenses with different focal length to arrive. I will also test what it's like with an anamorphic in the front. Hey, yes, the guy will post a tutorial video on how to mod the phone to place c mount lens, thanks for asking. I am also trying it, waiting for some parts to arrive.

@Brian Williams welcome to motioncam man, I find it very nice and I am skint like you. I cannot invest money into expensive cameras since I am not in this video business, so I am enjoying it as it is. Developers are working on this app to improve it and solve some of the bugs and is getting better and better, keep sharing your videos!

A 3d pop effect starts to show together with defocus characteristics of a real anamorphic lens. I can see a number of 2x anamorphic purists jumping on this and saying that there is not enough oval defocus. The scope used is a custom 1.5x compression ratio . Flares to my eyes look much more natural than those artificial over coated lens on the market such as Ulanzi, moment and the like.
