  1. Will that support the pocket though? 3lb load. If it does, and has some kind of follow focus, it's a winner.
  2. Yeah true, but that means the options are: Ronin S + Titla FF - at least €1k Crane 2 with free FF - €600 Question answered ?
  3. I've been waiting on buying a gimbal until the Ronin S is updated so the focus wheel can work with this camera - however, I just thought that since the focus on that gimbal is via the USB on the camera, and the camera then controls the focus, that likely means that adapted lenses won't be compatable... right? If tap to focus doesn't work with a speedbooster, then chances are this 'software' follow focus also won't work. Would it then be better to get the Crane 2 as their 'hardware' / mechanical follow focus is now included for free. Yes you'll have part of the gimbal blocking your screen, but that's far easier to work around than the Ronin's focus issues (if there are any with adapted lenses). Or am I missing something and there's an even better solution?
  4. Check out the Weebill LAB it’s teeny, and they’re supposedly working on support for focusing the P4K. Also, this guy’s delivery is hilarious.
  5. My understanding is that it outputs your recording frame rate as a 1080p image. So if your filming 4K60p you can only record at 1080/60p from the hdmi. That said, I don’t know if it outputs 120p if you’re filming in that mode.
  6. I’m sticking to 400 and 3200 and using nds to adjust for my setting - so far, it seems to be working out well. And when you have Sigmas 18-35, it’s plenty heavy enough to stay stable when handheld. glad you got the camera and are able to put things behind and not look at it through sour eyes. Looking forward to your review.
  7. - Sorry for double post - Is there any news of a Ronin S update for focusing the P4K with the follow focus?
  8. I might be wrong, but I think the LS300 does the same, if you're set to record in 4k you can't playback HD files. if it's not that camera, I'm not sure which one it is, but I've definitely encountered this in the last year and it scared the ish out of me.
  9. I’ve not noticed, but maybe you need to be set to record 120 in order to play 120?
  10. I have a 35mm Stereo camera in my bag at all times. Once you get used to how to use it, it's fun to use and the results are really something else. The advantage is you can print 3d photos into a book, either as a stereo image that you look at through glasses, or you can look at them as a monoscopic image that looks super nice due to the organic film. The reason I say once you get used to it, is because the focus is on the side, you turn it with your right forefinger and the shutter is on the top, but you press it with your left finger. Aperture is adjusted by twisting either lens, and shutter speed and shutter cocker are on the middle lens. Then there's 2 viewfinders, one for framing (you look out the middle lens) and the other is the rangefinder. Strangely, these are at the back, on the bottom of the camera, so the hotshot is up by your hairline while you're taking a photo. You can see the rangefinder windows on the bottom corners of this pic: The serial number on my model suggests it was made in 1952 - 3D photography is nothing new. As for mirrorless - any MFT camera can use this - but I don't imagine the results to be that great. Fun to play with for sure though.
  11. Still says out of stock on this and LensRegain for me.
  12. No, I meant I had surpassed 45 minutes record time and still had 2 lights on the battery. It continued to run for another 35 minutes.
  13. If it helps anyone, I've had a dummy battery plugged into one of these and I've left the camera recording. So far I've got 43 minutes on the card and the camera still says 7v and 2 LEDs light up on the battery. So I imagine I could get at least another 30 minutes from it, possibly even more - There's 46 minutes left on the card, so we'll see which one gets used up first. EDIT: Couple of these will easily get you (me) through the day. Interestingly, although the camera shut its self down, my recording is all there and not corrupt. Total run time is 1:09:05 The camera and card aren't even that hot, very slightly warm, I guess having the battery door off helped a little.
  14. I found an old dummy battery that looked the same as the one in your bundle and I can plug it into my swit batteries for my LS300. I don’t know if you also have these for your JVC, but I think they’ll run a lot longer than the battery pack you have.
  15. When monitoring audio through the camera, I’ve noticed a bit I a lag. Has anyone else experinced this? its not really a problem, just a little distracting if you can hear the talent talking in the room and then almost an echo in the headphones. My Atomos did the same, but I put it down to the HDMI signal being slightly delayed. Now, of course, the HDMI element is taken out of the situation.
  16. Just imagine what they could have done making 1 ad for $111k
  17. I thought about it, but for the price I’d rather get the Tilta VMount thing and a bigger capacity battery. Personally, I’m in no rush, so going to wait and see what comes available in the next few weeks/ months.
  18. To me that looks like how you put the grip on and take it off. I don’t think you can have it half way like that. The screw at the bottom of the grip has to screw into the cage somewhere. By doing that you block the ports.
  19. Taken from the main P4K thread: https://tilta.com/2018/10/29/first-look-at-the-camera-cage-for-bmpcc-4k/ Tilta are going to release a V-mount base to sit under the camera. They're also releasing a grip to hold Sony batteries and another thing for Sony batteries to sit under the camera. @BTM_Pix - Is it not better to trust the power bank's LEDs over the BMD % ? Let it run past 0% and see if the power bank gets down to 1 light, or if the camera shuts off before then.
  20. It's a shame you lose audio inputs with the side handle though, you can see in one of the images it's blocking the 3.5mm jack, so XLR must be the same. That V-mount baseplate looks great though.
  21. Thanks @CaptainHook - the lut is only for in camera previews - I’ll grade from scratch each time. Does anyone know if there's a way -without cutting - to take off the flaps on the side? I remember Grant Petty took one off at NAB, but that looked like an accident. Also, Bloom has a loupe on his P4K.
  22. Film Convert have recently added a new profile for BMPCC 4K - so Philip Bloom can grade his review now. For those interested, here's a quick link to find it: https://www.filmconvert.com/download/camera-profile
  23. That's because there's a whole lot more of it. More people have (or had) it than the new one, and they've been using it for quite a few years longer.
  24. After using the camera for the first time professionally today, I've made myself a LUT - I've done this before with Atomos products and it's all fine, but for some reason I can't seem to import it into the camera. I've put other LUTs on fine. In fact I can have my LUT and a 3rd party LUT on the same card, instal the 3rd party LUT but not my own within 3 seconds of each other. I've saved my LUT as .cube, like the others I've used, and even saved it in different ways. First just with the burger menu in Lumetri, then using Red Giant's LUT Buddy. Does anyone know what might be the problem? If someone could test it on their camera too that would be amazing! You can download it here: https://www.dropbox.com/s/3bgxtfd63ryu37z/Custom_Made.cube?dl=0 EDIT: I only have 1 custom LUT installed while trying this, so the problem isn't that I've filled up the allotted (alLUTted) space
