  1. Maybe "leaking" information is in relationship with reactions on this or similar threads at other relevant forums: little bit of testing targeted community. Maybe +/-500-1000 $euro is quite possible, even maybe +/- in given possibilities of codecs or so... Once when doors of "future paid updates" are open, everything is tolerable.
  2. Thanks... I'll have opportunity firstly to check SanDisk SSD plus used in Atomos recorders. But maybe somebody already tried it also...
  3. Can you provide a link for that that works (and another one to be avoided) ?
  4. As far as I see as lately coming and open-minded independent outsider (luckily tolerated because of little bit of respect to another field achievement :), whole film industry relays on hierarchy of mutual "sponsored" circles... What's interesting to me about BM is magnificently well and thoroughly thought-out, clever penetrating bravura. Armed with industry-adds and software that so fast became leader in business, step by step winning over, say, even Pablo (DaVince before BM was just one between equally used grading solution), relatively small BM team evolves strategy that relay not "from-above", but "from-the-ground" base of talented and enthusiastic people. Resolve already, from software side, totally destroyed any notion of annoying film-industry snobbery. I expect that BM soon makes even more serious threat and impact to top-budgeted part of industry - funding cameras with better reliability and, even more important, when younger generation of film-makers arrive to high positions, dearly remembering their indie-roots with BM and exchanging contacts. Process of establishing BM's important role is, I think, as democratic and human as it could be in modern circumstances.
  5. Actually, there are also USB3.1 models that go up to 350Mb/s, so it is possible to connect them via 90 degree speedy USBc-USBA adapter. For short filming there's no danger of heating. @Yannick Willox ... I've read that some of the newest are claimed to be much better in that regard. ... Anyway, I think about usage for not longer than few minutes sessions of shooting-then-stopping, so not too much exploiting... Of course, idea is to cut need for more cables and save space for run/gun situations.
  6. Did anybody try and use any new and small USB-C flash drive as solution? Some of them reach even 150mb/s writing speed, so in theory could safely been used for 5:1 and Q5 codecs, or even better for some simpler scenery.
  7. So basically, it is quite possible to buy UMP4.6v1+Pocket4k for this one cine-dream without RAW?
  8. Somehow I like it more because it is lot more expensive than S1R. Earlier I was sure GH6 will be 3000, now it seems it'll go up to 3500. So basically, comparing to GH5, for FF mine-is-bigger delight (taking as important fact that it is cine- not photo-dream ) and full Vlog/two stops DR (at best) we have to pay +4000$ ? Logic is obvious - 4x bigger sensor, 4x bigger price.... More and more it looks to me as absurd Formula1 race of luxury prototypes.
  9. At least one aspect of new price-strategy of all big pro-xxx-ish A-G-S-E-X-M-Z+native lenses manufacturers seems to me on merciful therapeutic side: it's easier to find peace of mind and feel yourself as winner over attacks of GAS fever... and look at things as passenger through boutique. Especially in that regard, hearing that users such Oliver Daniel are achieving so remarkable results with superior and noble power over GAS snobbery - is one of the nicer experience to get in this wonderful forum!
  10. Hey, totally unexpected, I started to collect your precious claims of racist arrogant attitude, so I'm proud to be thief too against at least one authentic believer of especial kind of morality of USA-leading-West policy: exclusive right to spy and steal from everyone everywhere... And interesting care to polluted area... So please, go on with them
  11. Again, i think that question is about price. FF model of GH5s (rivaling A7s III or so) probably will be between 3-4000 and probably will not have internal raw recording and also has to be rigged. Although, without discussion, it has greatly desirable regarding potential to give, all that trend of pricing too seriously tests indie filmmaking community - that don't elevate level of its funding so fast as big fish camera makers calling for their attention propel the price of new products. It's not so easy to explain and convince what are comparative advantages for indies to manage to find and pay 3-4x more money instead of, say, using P4K as base brain. Or why not to spend near exactly same money for the UMP4.6... While I owe so much to Panasonic's line over the years, I'm afraid that PLumix is risking for losing its most important users base till now... Even selling of 2500e GH5s, as far as I know from sporadic contacts with some distributors, was totally disaster, at least in this part of Europe. Simply, there is real-life and common-sense cost margin even for the most devoted user base of Panasonic cameras - which surely is not niche-people or uncapable to weight real necessity of FF or ISO 12800 or shallow DoF bravura for their aspirations. Even older and more experienced and better budgeting indie shooters will, I'd say, think twice about having two firmly rigged P4K for the price of bare FFs.
  12. Hmm, with all respect, for me rigging Micro for run-and-gun is not at all difficult, not more than GH5 with external monitor. I think that there's just one additional item: to make proper DIY remote controller and cleverly placed it. My cage is totally modular depending of actual need (changing LP6 with some sort of NFBridge, adding rods for shoulder rig or upper handle+shorter-or-longer-rod through it for re-position Atomos recorder and adding clamp for beautifully small Saramonic with 2 XLR, adding leftside or removing rightside handle for gimbal etc ) but, I think the most important is having remote controller under the finger. (Second one is from filming on location.)
  13. Although I'm not at all Hollywood industry judge, but what I have seen dealing with industry so far - necessity of full frame for movie making is extremely marginal, some sort of special effects toy for certain look. Actually, from artistic side, need for it for actual film making is far less than for nobles s16 sensor cameras. Of course, if and when advertising industry collects enough numbers of bored brainwashed users, we all have to listen and view world by eyes of, say, lemurs (or just my myopic eyes without lenses but with extremely capable shallow depth of field).
  14. Huawei case is small fraction and one of the side-turbulences of very logical and inevitably earthshaking movement always repeated in history - putting abnormal hypertrophy of one force to a balanced boundaries. We are children of era of USA domination that finally grew up to the most brutal and the most hypocrisy profile, trying to melt, exploit, dictate and control everybody and everywhere, with CNN+Hollywood+paid quasi intellectuals+adoration of consumerism brainstorming everything with mantra of democracy-for-oil-and-domination, which was so-so democracy just for USA, satellites and tampons - but, actually, it is very brief period. Everything USA became is owed to comparatively worse history circumstances for others: being a over-the-ocean, but by technology also enough near-by-to-act shelter for numerous ingenious refugees from all over the world, and not at the last place being a hidden place for most of Nazi-robbed money/gold/patents and extremely great numbers of spectacular highend Nazi inventors - all at the same time while, say, 22 million Soviets selfdestructivelly crushed the spin of 10 millions soldiers of the comparatively most advanced war machine in history. So, USA evolves model of importing/stealing intellectual property of all world, paying good-to-attract-everyone with endlessly printed dollar based solely on military influence. And it is not fault of USA people - every single country would did the same, including main opponents. Huawei case is self defense act of one monopolist against other whom USA policy brought up because of its one profit interest. Prolonged period of USA domination is greatly owed to Chinese's and other Far-East brutally lowpaid but patiently-waiting-workers to learn and catch proper time. It is essence of Chinese's inner 4000 years philosophy that helped them. USA and Chine are so economically intertwined and inter-depended, that it is astonishing why USA policy had to be so arrogant not to made mega deal with China against all other - as also at the time to made a deal with Russia when it was on economy knees. Now that chance is, luckily for the rest of the world, missed. Actually it is so good and sage that resonance of conflict stay in the frame of economy - because whole concept of USA domination at the end rested on constant threat and emergency usage of military force pressure (that's why USA akka Nato bases and secret prisoners camps are all over the world). Trump is puppet-voice of the force that, at the end, has last word in USA policy and controlled election decision: trust of highend military intelligence minds. Whole Wallstreet concept relay on possibility of non-controlled printing dolars - and frame for that could provide just USA military force. But now that force is becoming unusable because of military balance - USA lost in Syria, left Middle East whom so brutally destroyed, coming too late to Arctic, has to mostly stay restricted even in Venezuela - which just 15 years ago would be attacked and accomplished for one week. From the viewpoint of rest of the world, it is happy news that most powerful countries finally are solving their domination greed openly between themselves. How symbolically relaxing is that field of crash is 5g - that most of the (Second and Third) world neither will see, neither miss probably for next 3 decades.
  15. I think that tools for-, and fast delivery capability in general, today are in extremely different situation than at the time of C100. Not just time, but easiness of achieving great results. Practically any top of the line mirrorless camera gets remarkable broadcasting result with one corrective lut. Slow computer dealing with codecs now is past, but at C100 time didn't exist laptop enough powerful to deal with Premier's or FinalCut's must-render-to-see-in-real-time demand: even Resolve, once upon a time mythic software for wider user base, now go smoothly on modest laptop in 4k timeline, ready to deliver everything instantly on plethora media indeed cheap by any standard. Small and cheap and powerful Saramonic or Beactech XLR recorders/preamps are easy to put on smallest rig. What at the time for NX1 was bizarre codec decision, now is fast delivery standard. What I wanted to point to, is that trend of upping comparative price level for Panasonic tools, even just in regard to its biggest hits - say GH4 - doesn't look so promising not just for buyers, but for Panasonic also... regardless of reliability of their products. My opinion is that Panasonic management simply lost balance and don't enough accurate listens arising competitors. Probably Fuji is at the best position and the most progressive between bigger name - but, alas, I'm not Fuji user.
  16. I'm afraid its price, whenever it comes, by immediately self-defense reflex of mind will makes that product totally transparent, with two letters behind to rest a view: BM
  17. I'm always surprised that anybody who luckily escapes from everyday's battle for base food could think that Trump really makes any decision (except maybe in tweeter vocabular or hairstyle). He is the most obvious talking/acting puppet of all previous obvious puppets of Force that in USA forever terminated any further risk of individual leading's autonomy (type of V. Wilson or F. Roosvelt) killing JFK. (And, while I apologize for calling for my own personal investigations needed for some works, I'll risk to look as smartass and suggest to think about idea that that USA-policy-most-important-behind-force cooperate with comparable Chinese's and Russian's in world-affairs-dealings much more that most by-superficial-infos-bombarded people suspect... including dealing scenario of this Huawei topic. To put it simple, actually it is not Trade War, but much more part of far big and complex Trade Negotiation that include Syria, Ukrain, EU, refuges, Arctic etc. - and above all, The powerful Trio negotiation about starting position and the most comfortable/dignified-far-all way of transition from inevitably dying unipolar to three-centered conducted world.)
  18. My 2 cents, and as I see it, it's not about sharpness but about (at the moment questionably) better/higher discerning detail of image. Someone 1) calls/argumenst it is "false" or at least "not necessarily" true, someone 2) calls/advocates it as real. It seems that both side in discussion are calling history of previous argumentation as some sort of adding authoritative proof. As I see, careful (Resolve's "super scale") upscalling Micro/Pocket/CC 1080p image gives pretty identical result detail-wise as best P4K Braw codec. Or, at least, yet nobody argue that such conclusion is matter of perceptive miopy or so. My personal conclusion is that cDNG 1080p of previous cameras simply have more initial detail richness that allow upscale to 4k space results comparatively unnoticed. Peace may be find in conclusion that at any case image is more than enough rich and wonderful - with advantage that newer camera brings it with m43 sensor and more useful plethora of lens-posibilities, brings it wit 5inch monitor and advanced lowlight capability, with more economic and faster editing files etc. Furthermore, BM as company sometimes put us all in specific situation: giving, obviously, comparatively far best/the most artistic friendly products and (I'd say exclusively) fulfilling some sort of true/honest cinema-art liberation mission, BM also repeatedly makes some too-hurry give-then-back claims and promises, and than tries - with little bit sophistical and always delaying manner - to explain that such things actually doesn't exist or convincing users that actually doesn't matter. So someone 1) remembers/keeps in mind more all matchless qualities/offering that BM brings to market and stay content and forgivable about such occasional circumstances, and someone 2) following its own temperament that don't at all tolerates sophistic "not necessarily but might be" ingredient in argumentation and general treatment, tends to insist on its own perception, risking to seems ungrateful. I hope that BM and all of us will/may profiting from both direction.
  19. I think that Chinese mirror say: That’s why I said let the fat greedy people suffer. They cause their own problem but try to fix it by further exploiting/exterminating other countries/civilizations. That’s shame for a so called intelligence race on earth.
  20. Not, quite contrary, I've found my last one is best of all (Mozza Aircross vs various Ziyun and one Feyutech)... but obviously I'm not a person for using gimbal so much, I tend to appreciate more some sort of (little bit heavily) rigged camera for achieving more natural stabilization. But, as I wrote, I'll keep gimbal for quasi dolly (revealing or side tracking or up-stairs) shots that I've found really could be satisfactory replacement (at least for my usage) for several-seconds-lasting dolly movements. (But if you insist, maybe you can use some baby rolling chairs and put camera on it, or shopping basket with wheels
  21. Quasi dolly shooting is sole reason I'm hesitating not to sell my fourth gimbal (and fourth attempt to make some love for it)...
  22. Problem is that before stealing of intellectual property was/is some other sort of harder, more brutal, fatal/letal and constant (nature- and human-) resource stealing/abusing through period of time, on which base so-call (technical) intellectual property arose. Besides that, when calling out "intellectual" property there's one uber-aspect of it that is more important and that constantly lacks in repeated history circumstances: how to deal properly with other humans and nations with whom we are blessed or condemned to live with. What if at the end we will be forced to face with true that much higher "intellectual" property was/is also capability to protect resources on planet, to wisely accommodate our needs and wishes to nature and right of other people to have at least part of our commodity we have just because we are born at one place, not at another? If USA policy and consumers mass-ideology (as model and last global leader just because of circumstances of WWI and WWII) not being stopped with their global usage of "intellectual" property course, planet would be ruined very soon (first of all because of monstrous hypocrisy greed and its consequences). Now it's a matter of balance and we have witnesses of another turning point in history. After all, at meta-plane all of this is just demonstration how true is yin-yang concept ... and all powerful intellectual property that stay bellow that concept and helped him to become important knowledge property of human race as whole
