  1. https://www.amazon.com/Panasonic-Mirrorless-Camera-Ritz-DC-GH5KBODY/dp/B01N3LU9O2 https://www.eglobalcentraluk.com/panasonic-lumix-dmc-gh5-camera-body-only-pal.html
  2. I don't think that it is too valid argument - simply because I think that GH* and Pocket don't at all reckon of "everyone" as targeted user. GH* line is near strictly indie film maker tool - and yes, around me there are many (of that user profile) that use it, actually more than Canon etc. (In fact, I don't know anybody that use Fuji or Sony A7* line for such purpose.) BMD side vise - there are Cinema, Pocket and Micropocket users - but actually here question is, I think, not what is state of the facts now, but what will be with new Pocket as offer. I think you know it better than me - Sony as example is not comparable, simply (aside of sensor-maker luxury ) because of one trump that always exists in Sony's sleeve: mantra of full frame.
  3. Totally agree. Maybe above all specs, new Pocket is, I think, challenge of similar market profile-character or, in another word, of signature to Panasonic. Gap between them is now - at least on the paper - very narrow. Rest of the bigger difference may be - on the BM lack-side: not so great reliability, i.e. history of plenty of bugs; on Panny side: protecting its own upper line by sparing in specs. But convergency - and profit on the side of users - is, I think, obvious.
  4. How it could be so - of course, speaking not about all Panasonic products branches, but prosumer camera sector ? This is (or will be) the most direct impact on the same camera territory and mostly - although not identical - to the same user base. But it is hard to believe that Panasonic has not answer in its hand... I think that it is just matter of (sooner) time that Panasonic will react - with firmware or with announcing of new model. (I'm far of any visionary of prediction, but 2-3 months ago pure logic said to me that GH5s with its price would probably be financial fiasco... Actually, I even claimed in Neuman's thread that it wouldn't be long time that Panasonic will be forced to account on including prores and even raw in its GH* offer - and than I strictly pointed at Blackmagic as cause.)
  5. To me It looks like black magic flavor of crowdfunding... And once upon a time (after BMCCC GS fiasco) BM declared that will never again present product that is not ready for distributing. I simply don't like such serious/radical change of policy-mind.
  6. Thanks for concise report... So pity, it seems to me that Blackmagic keeps some black magic veil around this product Just one thing I'm starting to dislike more after witnessing preorder euphoria - isn't BM voice once upon a time clearly said that will be never talk about products not instantly ready for selling? It was about fiasco with BMCCC anounce of global shutter and long delaying because they desperately trying to accomplish what they promised... Why BM don't keep the word about "ready to sell"?... Of course BMPCC 4k looks to me as miracle - but after reading the fact that actually it will be distributed at least just after half a year, I must to recall of some previous experience and given word about new anouncing course...
  7. I'd say - keep or buy what ergonomically makes best feeling to you and best suite to your needs. Even 500$ difference will be easy compensate if you really like and with enjoy to use your tool. One camera, one or two lens that make you can fully concentrate to and accomplish your goal. Maybe to think of shooting as to some sort of peaceful meditation - only relevant is that you could not be distracted by anything... everything else is in yourself. Of course, I'd say it more to myself than to you - because I'm always starting with presumption that you or anybody else knows better and more than me...
  8. Of course it would. But also glory of BM would stay intact or even shinier - it would force Panasonic to make such firmware
  9. I think that you know very well what I'm talking about... But to say clearly: about your (for me personally annoying) pretension to show yourself as quasi calm-maker, but with continuous using of BTW-poignancy about men or comments that you dislike.
  10. I have to say - and sorry, It has no anything especially with this quote - that now I really don't understand why GH5 evolves so much antagonism? Even one glance at calendar will simply show that at the moment when BMPCC 4k started distribution GH5 will probably be 2 years old camera...
  11. But in a meanwhile his comments become what sort of obvious degradation?
  12. Exactly. But I think that it is out of discussion price shaking moment - and marvelous including of Resolve 15 studio for free. Blackmagic with huge step does democratizing cine art community - others simply have to follow.
  13. So, what kind of standard is such comment?
  14. But I think it wouldn't help - for experienced eyes it would be tiny plastic prores, sort of All-I 400mb fakery
  15. More likely GH5s... GH5 will better keep its position simply because of IBIS.
  16. As black magic at work... coming from politically not-so-lucky part of the world, I'm little bit afraid for company - it seems that BM too freely ruin the monopolized market. Luckily for others, I suppose very soon there be voices with claim - m43 is kinda dead, APS-C and FF is only real solution for real "cine" real "mojo"
  17. So miracle is indeed done... Fusion inside Resolve doesn't require rendering effects of clips for them being further manipulate in timeline.
  18. So do I... and I think that's the reason why I'm so fond to this thread... (BM is only company about which I recognized in myself an stupid sentiment - that I owe something to it
  19. It would be so nice... But, from my experience with usage of BM cameras, I always at the end had to add at least little bit of sharpness in software... So, for me it seems also logical question - weather is possible to make even better sharpening algorithm in cameras that use them (obviously because of consumer part of aimed market)?
  20. I'd say - first paragraph is theory, second one is usage of metaphorical poetry Reality, imo, is that final result in capable/accurate hands is indistinctly similar in blind test.
  21. Imo very subjective and little bit poetically bombastic exaggerating...
  22. One of the important reasons why I'm glad to participate in this forum - to note and collect such lovely quotes... thanks for this one!
  23. Yes for all written - so, unfortunately, it seems that - while science of cooling etc. doesn't progress more - I must starting to reckon to have 2 cameras .... which seems fair, because we all also already have (at least) two person under the skin?
  24. Agree... But if IBIS is not on a camera, then you are stuck with another quirks, using a gimbal or come back in time and become Dogma pro member
