I know what you mean but the value aspect is in the £75 for a matched pair. At that price, even "ok" is a big result Mind you, that looks positively Leica-esque pricing compared to Thomann's own sourced EM700 stereo set complete with dual suspensions and T bar for £50.48. Surprisingly enough, they also manage to be "not not ok" I'm going for probably not.

I think this is a very shrewd suggestion. You'll struggle to get the 24mm equivalent f1.8 lens that the LX100 has for even twice the price of a used one. (The Samyang is a good value but is MF only). Plus you get the other focal lengths it offers at not too slow a speed, it will cut easily with your GH4, gives you not only a backup camera but a more stealthy one if you are stealing shots. Its a very, very good option. The other half of your budget you can use for a faster longer prime to cover the extra requirements. That Olympus 45mm f1.8 is a good performer and their 75mm f1.8 is very nice indeed but would blow your budget. I'd be tempted to look at getting the Sigma 30mm f1.4 and their 60mm f2.8 which you could probably just sneak in if you picked up used ones. I'd leave the 30mm on the GH4 as the standard lens and although the 60mm isn't particularly fast it is a capable performer and very good value for money. For what its worth, I might even be tempted to try and trade the GH4 for a G80 to free up some more space and budget and get the benefit of IBIS.

Only if its on their wedding list though. Otherwise a toaster or some cutlery would be more appropriate.

Is this going to be a regular gig? If it is then I'm going to go against the grain and say you should look at doing it like a regular music video and doing post-sync audio. If they have a recording of themselves to lip sync to then great but if not then you can record it yourself in a more controlled environment and for the type of music that you are looking to record I'd recommend getting a pair of Samson C-02 mics. There are plenty of examples of them being used on YouTube for voice with acoustic like this one (though he's gone a bit wild with the panning to be honest). They include a foam pop shield but they're pretty sensitive to plosives so you might want to look at spending a few quid more on a better shield. Or a pair of tights and a coat hanger if you want to go old school improv. The big bonus though is that they do a pretty competent job for indoor dialogue/interview scenarios as well so you'll find you get a lot more use out of them as an all round tool for other work. The even bigger bonus is the price in that they are £75 for a pair. Recording the audio first and getting the musicians to mime to it will improve the end result immeasurably from the audio side obviously but also from the video side as you can do multiple takes and multiple shot sizes without having to concern yourself with the mic placement and capture quality. Another alternative if you want to do it live with a recorder would be the Zoom H2n which has a very flexible microphone array in it which gives you some degree of post capture control. It doesn't get a lot of love but its actually a very interesting and practical device that can produce decent results in the field for what you are trying to do. I have 2 of the Lexar UHS-II 1000x Speed cards gathering dust in a draw for the same reason, though not from a GH5. One failed in a Nikon D500 and the other in a Fuji XT-2 both after limited use, both corrupted the data and both refuse to format in anything.

These were the issues When RAW files, which were taken by X-T2 (before firmware ver.4.00), are converted in camera (ver.4.00) or by “FUJIFILM X RAW STUDIO”, they are not converted properly. When pressing the shutter button halfway under certain conditions, the live view can flicker. In rare cases, a hang-up can occur. The rollback version has no internal FLOG or the high fps so, put it this way, none of those issues have prompted me to take 4.0 off my camera Its been removed off their site but we have our own copy here !

None of them. Every time you do a lens test I end up buying it and I'm completely skint at the moment

This is the test I did for the 2017 edition of this thread Nikon 70-200mm f2.8 on a full frame (Nikon Df), a crop frame (Nikon D500) and an MFT (Panasonic GX80). Shot at 70mm f2.8 on the crop, 100mm f4.0 on the FF and 70mm f2.8 on 0.7x Speedbooster on the MFT. These images show an identical equivalent depth of dirt on my wall.

Fair enough (though the new hybrid AF on that Sony is actually very effective). I don't have an XC10 but my experience with other 1" cameras like RX100 or FZ2000 is that background separation isn't an issue if I have the space to achieve it with a longer focal length but not all situations afford that if you can't control the environment so its never guaranteed. You can always go old school on your XC10 with an old 35mm spinning ground glass adapter but I think we've been there before and it was a bridge (camera) too far when it came to stealth

I'm going to be radical here and say maybe you should consider the Sony AX700 camcorder as I think it ticks a lot of your boxes? Built in variable ND, HLG (as well as SLOG 2&3), 250 fps in HD and their very, very smart new hybrid AF system amongst other things make it a brilliant shot grabber whilst having a bit more about it for more considered shooting as well. It can take XLRs via the smart shoe adapter if needed. And nothing is more discreet for filming in public places without getting hassled than something that looks like a palmcorder. You're more likely to elicit a response of "aww bless, look at him there with his old fashioned camcorder" than "whats that guy up to with all that gear?" to be honest Its not a sexy solution but I honestly think it will get you where you want to be going with a lot less angst. And not without decent quality either.

It's so bad that if I see a vimeo film embedded in a post on any site I just surf past it. It seems completely independent of device, network or even country I'm trying to watch it from. Maybe things will change now that they have bought Livestream who might have some better technology to serve the content to a wide audience. Or maybe they'll just make Livestream as shit

Just been monkeying around with it and the WDR has the edge for me too. Any news on when they might be re-issuing the firmware ? Curious to know if they might include Eterna as an internal profile to make up for the inconvenience

I originally got one of these to use with my RX100 but I've just been having a play with it with the A6500. All I wanted it for really was to replace the ludicrous video record button as I was getting tired of carrying cocktail sticks round with me to operate it with. However, another huge bonus that I didn't realise it could do is that the zoom rocker on it (which I use to control the optical zoom on the RX100) actually operates the Clear Image Zoom function on the A6500 (and the other A series cameras) Being able to power the camera on and off from it as well is also very neat. For £21.99 it's certainly a lot cheaper than the official Sony one that it, erm, 'resembles quite closely' too

During my 2nd hand lens buying frenzy last week, I picked up one of these really cheap. I know its only really for Sigma's own lenses and the only EF mount Sigma that I've got is the 18-35 ART but I thought "well, even if it only works with that then its a cheap way of getting it onto the A6500" Turns out from the testing I've been doing today that that is just about all I'm going to be using it with. It pretty much performs as a native lens with the 18-35mm but testing it with non-Sigma EF lenses that I've got around (a 17-50mm f2.8 Tamron, a nifty fifty, and a couple of L zooms) its kind of OK in stills mode (reasonably good with a long L zoom actually) but unusable in video mode. It makes an attempt to focus but then backs up, goes forward, backs up and then gives up. So..... As a novice with Sony cameras, is there anyone who has this adapter that has it working in video mode with non-Sigma lenses that could perhaps point me in the direction of exactly which of the 827 menu screens the magic settings are lurking ? Or does it really just not work?
