  1. Sure, even still there seems to be differences between cameras even when trying to match color
  2. Clog2 could be huge for this line. https://www.techradar.com/cameras/mirrorless-cameras/the-canon-eos-r5-mark-ii-and-eos-r1-just-edged-closer-to-launch
  3. Is it fair to say some cameras produce normative or more pleasing color to most but if using log, you can get similar color/image from most cameras equally? 1. if you wanted a personal camera with fast turn around what brands are you usually happy with color wise? 2. when deciding for more professional or bigger projects, how do you decide what system/log system to get? seems canon and then Fuji reign when SOOC is discussed and it’s more nuanced for the latter.
  4. This too, looks pleasing to my eye but curious if you guys with better trained eyes and knowledge see an image degradation compared to fx3:
  5. I find this video to be movie like and curious if you can see the inferior DR and image to the fx3? I’m a layperson so curious for those with more knowledge https://youtu.be/4qv3bdX6Hv8?si=O0ZDihKX188lUC2h
  6. If you’re struggling to comprehend DR I’m hopeless! 😂 so it seems I’ll rely on some other metrics as I’ll be baking images in with LUT in camera and not pushing in post. That may open up options for me as to what body I can use. Portability and compact is a prime start for me.
  7. That’s good to know then if the fx3 sensor looks better with less work than fx30. That said ZVE1 just dropped to $1898 in US on BH
  8. Do you consider it bad if someone wants to bake a LUT to avoid grading and post processing?
  9. Insightful posts and ideas. I just think if you look at the videos you’ll see a pattern that’s much simpler - the sensor for fx30 and a6700 appears to be darker or have a less pleasing look compared to FF. But it could also be the glass etc. seems easier to achieve a desirable look on a7iv/fx3 sensor than fx30/a6700.
  10. Interesting. Thanks for this view! Is it possible that at the same ISO, we’d see this color or DR difference? Meaning the creators are using ISO as the equalizer rather than exposure x/y axis?
  11. Cool points but those screenshots and videos are comparing the images with same settings at the same time. There’s distinguishable differences and I find it interesting.
  12. I’ve seen this in a few videos, but when compared - the fx30 sensor seems dark, less DR? Maybe, like a washout look. Any thoughts? video 1: video 2:
  13. Great ideas folks! 1. what’s the best way to stress test? 2. Favorite outlets that are reputable ? 3. Are 3rd party warranties worth it?
  14. Posted a thread recently about APS-C, but curious what are good f4, or thereabout, zooms. I think 35/40 is a good small option for FF but a standard zoom for travel/sports that would be reasonably priced used?
  15. Good advice, i'll check MPB and KEH - that said i just worry that the units being sold may be more prone to overheating than a new unit. Type that out sounds potentially ridiculous just a fear.
  16. Any downside buying a zve1 or a6700 used versus new? Or in general? Used lens seems really easy to do but bodies feels a little nerve wracking.

    E-Mount Zooms

This makes sense - I was seeing the wide-ranging zoom as an all-purpose outdoor lens for travel, sports, etc. I'd worry the 17-70 may not have the reach for sports, general outdoor video. But I will check the Tamron for sports. Fair point as well That is good I was thinking you could have the 18-_____ for all-purpose video and then use a 20-24 fast prime for low light and indoor shots?

    E-Mount Zooms

Anyone have experience with mid-level zooms with good range? Curious what a good EDC zoom would be for video/photo on ASP-C bodies for Sony. On BH I'm seeing: 18-105 (f4), 18-135 (3.5-5.6)
  19. Yea I get it. my brain was thinking - all things being equal, if you put the fx3 sensor in a an environment with the A7IV - which of the 2 would have 1. better DR 2. more accurate color 3. better ISO performance 4. and which image do you prefer a blend of objective and subjective all things being equal
  20. Thanks guys. I guess I’m naive and assumed we could discuss what sensor produces a nicer image based on some data and experience. It seems for here, I’m wrong. Thanks anyway!
  21. Agree, they don’t know - which is okay. I was just curious as per the original question. I don’t understand the technical specs of images and know some folks here are so wanted to see if anyone has investigated the original question………….
  22. For polite discourse, I’m going to disagree respectfully. Does one sensor produce better highlights? Shadows? ISO performance? Color accuracy? Absolutely yes. Which one you prefer of the two is subjective. for example, I’ve always like Fuji and canon straight out of the box standard profiles due to more pink or magenta tones. I still have yet to see anyone answer which sensor has the better numbers for objective or their preference for sensor subjectively.
