    Great! As seen on:
Might want to consider the dual mini for easier application: http://www.ratrig.com/v-slider-dual-mini.html .

Yup. It renders that way due to the shape the aperture blades make. I also like the Russians. The Zenit Industar 61 line-up renders pretty spec(ta)cular highlights... e.g.

Phil A reacted to benymypony in Pack of original LUTs made by myself
    Hello everybody,
I just build an online web app to test all the LUTs from my pack on JPG/PNG images.
You can test the beta version here : http://luts.iwltbap.com/previewer
The use is pretty simple, you have just to drop/load a JPG/PNG frame on the main container and click a LUT reference in the left sidebar.
In top bar you have a ON/OFF button to enable or disable the LUT effect instantly, and a slider to change the LUT intensity.
Also, you can export the current frame as a PNG by clicking SAVE button.
The LUTs will be applied at low resolution to increase speed (the size of this web app is around 10MB, when my pack of LUTs is around 1.20GB).
So, pixelation and banding will appear in the previewer.
More details in the infos box on the previewer home page.
It's still in beta so all feedback and bug reports are welcome

I have a SmallHD 502 monitor that I plan to use with the Micro. But just noticed that B&H is selling the 501 (No SDI, HDMI Only) for $599 until the end of day Monday.

Phil A got a reaction from Zach Ashcraft in Why I still want a Canon DSLR
The thing is, between 5D IV, C100 II, C300 II, C500 and respective successors I don't see why Canon would implement these things in the 5D IV. Looking at the focus of the cameras and their respective price points, Canon seems decidedly to go in direction of a clear segmented product portfolio with no cannibalisation. You probably won't get the C100 II features in the 5D IV, at least it would be a huge surprise, they clearly try to make the incentive for people to upgrade to the Cinema EOS line.

I did a bunch of grading - checking out Impulz vs Filmconvert

Overall filmconvert feels more forced, retains less detail. Impulz luts gives a better starting point - more image detail retained in ut - to play with - to shape it and move.
I also just did a rec 709 conversion and graded - and it's a lot harder to work with to get to where I want to go.  So if you don't like luts, good for you.  For me, it gets me there faster.  And then I tweak and tweak and tweak.  The overall image, then skin, then lips, everything.
Also now being able to shoot pro res 444 12-bit from the sony f35 to the odyssey 7q is really, really nice.

Mixed lighting test - sony f35 to convergent design pro res 4444 - with overhead crappy 4000k fluorescents - shooting s-gamut then with p3-dci gamut
the lighting is all over the place - crappy overhead flourescents - 4000k mixed with more crappy flourescents and in some scenes led glow from macbook
the p3-dci definitely falls apart faster.
s-gamut - with pro res 4444 - very clean secondary color correcting and stress to push pro res as far as it needs to go.
shot underexposed 1 stop. amazing how clean can make - used neatvideo on impulz footage
