  1. The 16-50 was 2 weeks from order to my door. The 50-150 is still on it's way, Ordered it later and it's on backorder. It's been just over 2 weeks since order
  2. I bought my nx1 last June as an open box/refurb for 1085 body only. Using the samsung parts site, I got both of the S zoom lenses for ~$1500. So I'm in for less than 3 grand for my samsung NX stuff, with a focal range of 16-150 2.8 IS. Not advocating for anyone to do anything, but the value is undeniable. Hard to pass all that up.
  3. Done as well! That's for getting this together
  4. I just got mine this past weekend, but have only used it into a wall plug. Very nice to know, and it makes sense, that it can charge via USB like that. Very handy. For me it is exactly like a canon/nikon charger, which is awesome and worth the money since it doesn't come with the camera to begin with. Mountneer man, I also know those shopping cart blues
  5. The one I'm referring to is the samsung official BP1900 charger, so for the nx1, yes. Here's a B&H link for it at $30 http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1081860-REG/samsung_ed_bc4nx03_us_charger_for_ed_bp1900_battery.html But you can get it many other places if you search around for samsung bp1900 charger, or the model number which is ED-BC4NX03
  6. Man this thing is nice! If you haven't already, grab one. So much nicer than the charger that came with my amazon/off brand batteries Definitely feel dumb for waiting this long to get one I got mine from a place on ebay for $26 shipped. Learn from my mistake
  7. Hey guys, I have been absolutely loving the 16-50 S. Went to a wedding on Friday and grabbed some casual shots with it. Really loving the handling so far. The combo did have some struggles in low light at the reception, but still got some shots that I was able to give them. I recorded a bit of the ceremony and am really impressed with the combination of DIS and lens OIS. Really can't say enough about the lens. I have the 50-150 on order now and am looking forward to getting it. Here's my favorite shot
  8. Watched it the other day and had to come back and watch it again this morning. God, New York is the best. Absolutely great what you guys were able to accomplish. Was this a one day shoot? Wonderful work, Ed. I loved it, it looks awesome. The edited piece came out really well. Loved the subway meltdown to escalator Also a perfect example of using a camera rig to add more weight and depth to the short. Love that we all know why people are staring, but the character doesn't.
  9. look at keh.com or ebay completed listings for a better idea. Thats not the real question, the real question is how much have they been offered to you for?
  10. I've used Rocky Mountain with good results since June. I haven't gotten the latest version though and haven't been using LUTS. I didn't really know about cliptoolz, but it looks great too. I'll probably grab that when I get home later
  11. Nice Mattias! I used to own one of those, I liked the build and focus ring. Have the AIS 35 1.4 now and it's great, but I do like the longer focus throw on the older one. I have owned the 28 3.5 and 50 1.8/50 1.4 at various points and they're pretty great. Very small lenses. Front aperture ring is a bid odd. The colors from the lenses are awesome. Love the coating on the Zuiko lenses. They're still cheap too. I definitely want to pick up a basic kit for myself to keep. They have a lot of macro lenses available for an older line up.
  12. Definitely in to contribute. Is there any reaching out to the magic lantern community that can be done?
  13. Got it all in and charged. Updating everything tonight. It came with two batteries! I must be easily impressed because that was a very pleasant surprise.
  14. I agree with the officer reveal, I feel like it was already established in one of the prior dream sequences and Tom Hardy's speculations earlier in the film. I already felt that was known prior to him verbalizing it. I liked the dream sequences when they did some stuff like the bird coming out of the wife. Stuff I've seen before, but at least they were playing with it. I didn't mind the length really. I wish some things had been differently, and at times the plot felt a bit like Gladiator and Last of the Mohicans with much more grunting, but visually it was absolutely stunning and as a whole it managed to be completely majestic and horrific at the same time.
  15. Got to see it last night, here are a few scattered thoughts. Spoilers indeed The bear sequence was intense and looked great/horrifying I loved the camera movement and the landscapes and lighting were pretty magical. Absolutely gorgeous throughout the movie. Did I hear that most of the movie wasn't filmed on Alexa 65? I liked how close they got to actors, but I don't know how I feel about all of the fogging on the lenses from their breath, what did you guys think about that? I need to see it a second time, but that did jump out for me. The film made me feel like a little baby, Holy shit. I could see Tom Hardy getting an oscar and Leo getting passed up again here.
  16. I have some of these, I've never actually used mine but they came free with some Lowel and Mole lighting gear I was buying and I grabbed them. The great David G Smith over at DVXuser has a great and informative thread about these with a nice bulb he found for them. http://www.dvxuser.com/V6/showthread.php?286884-5000-watts-of-light-for-90-00!!!-Stop-buying-work-lights!&highlight= Definitely worth the price of admission.
  17. They've been great for me since I bought them in June last year. Also, I LOVE the battery life on this camera in general. Pretty amazing.
  18. I'm really only looking to use my nx1 with 16-50 PZ or one of my nikon or canon FD primes. Heaviest lens I'll put on there is the tokina 11-16 2.8. Also probably put the BM pocket camera on there. I figure this will get me started and I intend to keep the nx1 for awhile so this combination is what I'm looking forward to using the most. If I have a need to fly bigger cameras down the line I'll just take my losses and sell the M for something else. Looking at quick release plates to mount the ronin-m on things like a jib. It seems the cinemilled one is a popular option, any others that people have experience with?
  19. I said screw it and bought the ronin-m the other day. For what I"m doing it just seems like a no brainer and in that price range there isn't much that can top it. I know there's a big current crop of singlehanded stabilizers and other devices on the market, but the ronin-m has been the only one I've used and I loved it when I did use it. I should get it today or tomorrow and am excited to get some testing done with the nx-1 and 16-50 pz and other lenses. Definitely excited to get this
  20. Are people really clamoring to buy the official batteries? I have 2 offbrands that I bought for $30 with a travel charger included and they've been as good as the OEM samsung battery
  21. How many of you guys are using the Ronin-m? I'm looking buy a gimbal system in the early portion of this year and the ronin-m still seems to be my best option, just wanted to check in and see what people are using and your opinions. I like DJI because they seem to have the most product out there that is working, and they seem to have the customer support to back it up. I'll be using cameras ranging from my nx1 and black magic pocket to other FF dslrs.I'm mainly excited to use this with the nx-1 and 16-50 PZ as I've seen some brilliant clips posted here using that same set up. Are there other legitimate contenders out there, or in that price range is the Ronin-M as good as it looks/better than other options? Ronin-m users, what other accessories would you recommend to get up and running? How necessary are Spare batteries? Thanks for your help guys!
  22. It's awesome! Awhile ago I had the much older nikkor 20mm 3.5 UD, and the copy I had was a bit yellowed and soft. The 20 2.8 AIS is much sharper wide open and a perfect color match for all the other Nikon AIS stuff I have. It fills a huge hole in my line up and makes me wish I had bought one sooner If you find a one, grab it!
  23. I currently have the 50 1.2 AIS and a 50 1.8 AF-d, and 55 2.8 macro I've owned the older 50 1.4 S in the past. 1.8 and 2 are really pretty much the same thing. All of them are pretty sharp at f/2. the 1.4 I had was pretty dreamy wide open and got sharp around 2.8 or so if I recall. The 1.8 I have is sharp wide open and about the same at 2.8. The 1.2 is very good wide open and really sharp closed down. the 55 2.8 macro is just next level, edge to edge sharpness throughout it's aperture settings. Unrelated to the 50s, but I bought a 20mm 2.8 AIS the other week and man is it nice. It's already one of my favorite nikon lenses
  24. I love all your guys ideas so far, and most of the things I'd want have been stated. I'd also really like a 4x3 mode like the gh4 has.
