Nothing is still able to replace my nx1 as an all around still+video camera with great quality, 24-200 range, fast native af lenses. Fuji is near, but still not there. M43 for me is a no-go for the ratio in stills, that I never liked, the low mp and smaller sensor. A7r-iii is there, actually would be my best choice, but definitely too expensive, especially with decent native lenses. Nikon could do something good, but I bet it won't.

My idea is that 4k@60 is not possible for the cpu and hw encoder.

Very interesting. Of course if you haven't got a latitude of many stops in video, you need to use lights in such situations. The great thing is that, in still pictures, now you can get these results even w/o a fill in flash, thanks to the greatness of BSI sensor by samsung.

Oh possibly then, but I never had an issue even w/o 1080ti, just higher cpu load than with 1080ti ;-)

Are you sure about this? I use afterburner and it clearly shows that 1080ti is used during playback...the cpu stays very low when playing, while before, with fury x, it was higher.

My old but mighty i5820k @ 4.4ghz handles perfectly h.265. I now also have a 1080ti which has hw support for it, so the cpu stays at 1%..

I still think that we'll not see a real competitor for NX1 for some years to come, mainly because all the main investments are into the FF or M4/3 field. So APSC is a bit left behind, with only Fuji in the game.

My "next system" will need to be 8k@30, 4k@120, 2k@460, apsc or bigger, 10-12bit at all the resolutions, with very high bitrate (over 200) and h.265, in a packaging with the size of nx1 and a cost of 2k$ for the body at most. And a good selection of outstanding, yet affordable, af lenses. I think I'll have to wait several years, since Samsung is no longer in the game.

I'm with Kisaha on this, saying that I'm more than served with NX1 for many months/years to come. Of course, I always hope that my NX1 lives long enough. When I change system, I want to be sure to get something vastly superior to NX1. As to now, nothing is - IMHO - so much superior to justify a switch. Almost sure, when I switch, it will be for a full frame, unless something "crucial" happens in sensor technology (i.e. the long rumored organic sensors come out) able to improve low light performance. That said, the three technologies to look at are: 1) Nikon FF mirrorless (if/when it comes) 2) Canon FF mirrorless (if/when it comes) 3) Fuji APS-C (if/when they implement an organic sensor)

Interesting. Both Fuji and Sony E are good. But...I guess we'll lose AF, won't we?

Very nice object. I'm not personally interested in anything which is not AF, but I recognize the huge work that Luca did for this project and the terrific result he achieved. Bravo Luca!

Yes, Samsung is a case of mismanagement when we talk about nx line.
