Stephen using Crystal Disk Mark here are my results from one CF Card Read speed on SEQ Q32T1 - 130.1 Mb/s Read speed on SEQ - 129.6 Mb/s Write speed on SEQ Q32T1 - 101.8 Mb/s Write speed on SEQ - 100.7 Mb/s slooooooooow card, talking with Lexar customer support right now, asking me around 20 questions just to get a RMA number from them, still awaiting answers, slow response like the memory cards

Stephen Thank you very for helping me to find the root of the problem, the benchmark test was the key to find the issue with the CF cards.... the weird thing is that I have two Lexars CF cards , I didn't buy them at the same time , I am trying to get a different brand and test my camera, could be a faulty Canon 5d Mark III?, I will let you know how this end.

Stephen my CF Cards, I bought them from b&h I have two and I am sure they do not sale fake ones, I did full format of my CF card on my computer and tried the benchmark Card Benchmark Quick R/W benchmark (1min) on both CF Cards and they give me 67mb/s...how come? slow that is the minimum data write. I format them fat32, same result, format them back to exfat, same results, both cf cards benchmark no more than 67mb/sec

Hi Andrew, my CF Card is a 64 gb Lexar 1066x if I use crop mode , the 5x I can record without limit no problem, it is the full frame that stop after a few seconds... other settings I have on : Global Draw ON, all modes Spot Meter Percent, AF box could it be the build I am using??

Hi Everybody, how do you guys do 1920x800 60p? what settings are you using? I bought Andrew guide and tried to do it but I only get around 65 frames only, also in ML Web site they say full frame 1080p is continuos.. I want to do 1080p 60p full frame. First I changed in Canon menu to 720p 60p ALL I enable crop mode 1920 50/60 3x3 raw video ON : resolution 1920x800, aspect ratio 16:9, data format 14 bit lossless Preview Auto use SRM Memory ON,, Small Hacks ON shutter speed 1/130 (that i s the closest I get to 120 from ML Menu, in order to follow the 180 degree rule) FPS override is OFF ( If I turn this one ON, the live view freezes) with all these settings I got a few seconds only ..... and the Preview has a reduction in image quality and a very slow frame rate ( the preview is not a big deal I understand how difficult is to get it, better something than nothing) I sent this question to Andrew directly, he never answered , he might be busy, I don't know that is why I am asking in the forum , one of you guys can point me to the right settings/direction Thanks in advace

while I fully respect your opinion, I do not agree with it. It is really impressive that a 8 years old camera is capable of such amazing things, and they were hidden by canon in order to protect their professional line. Impressive that a bunch of people who share their time and knowledge with the community just because they wanted to. it is not perfect, I agree with that, they are still working on it...it might take some time until the final product can be free of bugs/problems, but at least they found that the camera is capable of doing it. You have to understand how this process works...it is NOT EASY at all to hack/change the code in this cameras, you need to know how to program, how the camera works, find a hole in the camera firmware, for example the latest 5d mark III do not support ML, Canon blocked the hack, you have to downgrade to firmware 1.1.3 or 1.2.3 to use it. the new cameras come with new technology that might not be possible to hack....A1ex and a bunch of other people who help him all of them need a 5d mark IV to hack it and trial and error the hack, find errors, fix them, more test...repeat the process etc etc.... they might brick the camera, Are you ready to trash $3500 if your camera doesn't work anymore?. A lot of people cannot afford right now a 5d mark IV, so it makes sense for ML team to continue to work and get whatever they can extra from a 5d mark III . If you want ML team to works on a 5d mark IV find other happy owners of this new camera and buy altogether a new/used 5d mark IV and send it to them for free, so they can start working with the hack. ML might or might not be ported to 5d mark IV . I cannot imagine the cool things this new camera will do with ML, but until then let's enjoy the new findings with 5d mark III.

Sorry for my late response Andrew, from ML web site, here are the reasons behind it: Most important changes in 1.2.3 since 1.1.3 (source): - clean HDMI out - dual monitor support - AF at f/8 with teleconverters - fixed an AFMA bug - a bunch of minor fixes Unfortunately, in order to implement the dual monitor feature, Canon made some major changes on the display side (changed some low-level registers) and LiveView implementation (which is now quad-buffered, while on 1.1.3 it's triple-buffered, just like in all other ML-enabled cameras). From ML's point of view, this resulted in the following differences: - 1.1.3 is slightly faster when recording RAW/MLV (not much, only a few MB/s) - fast zebras are not working on 1.2.3 or later, but they are OK on 1.1.3 - no full-screen magic zoom on 1.2.3 or later - no brightness/contrast/saturation adjutments on 1.2.3 or later - "DIGIC peaking" is a little more limited on 1.2.3 or later (only the basic mode is working, not the ones with fancy backgrounds) - motion detection in "frame difference" mode does not work on 1.2.3 or later - I'm not sure if corrupted frames are still an issue (if you experience them, try downgrading to 1.1.3) Other than that, the two ML versions are pretty much identical.

Hi Mercer.....if you are going to film in two weeks...do not use ml raw yet....it will be a nightmare for you, believe me, you need to know exactly what you are doing, otherwise you will ending with a big mess, take your time learning MLRAW how to process it and then you can film with it... You will need faster cf cards, batteries, hdd space for your raw files, backups... 1066x cards, some time ago the best ones were expensive, people were using Komputerbay card because of the price but it was a lottery with them, some were bad, right now go for LEXARS https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1031509-REG/lexar_lcf64gcrbna10662_64gb_pro_compact_flash.html, how many cards you will need? 4 , 8? you have to try and see how it work for you, buy a faster cf reader to transfer the files to your computer/ext hard drive. MLVFS is great ...you convert to CDNG on the fly...and can keep your original raw. there is a lot of things to learn from ml raw menu, how to change them, it is fun and great to learn but take time.....once you know how to work with all the issues you will love the results good luck and welcome to ml raw world.!! not really, the installation is very simple now, just put the files at the root and do the firmware upgrade....that's it. Make sure you downgrade your firmware to 1.1.3...I did it with my 5d mark III with no issues.... only use the firmware 1.2.3 if you need dual monitor, otherwise use the firmware 1.1.3

So Happy AMD is back in business putting pressure on Intel....if you are a pc user only it makes sense to change to this new processor , but if you are using a Hackintosh if you don't want problems stay with Intel, unless you are pretty good fixing problems with kext and know/like to solve issues, yeah go ahead, think also when you have to upgrade to a new OS X version....
