  1. Maybe a new BMCC with much better ergonomics and screen(hand grip like Canon C line would be nice) and a new S35 sensor(good at 1600 iso and multi aspect ratio). It does not have to be 4K even, 2,5K RAW/ProRes is enough.

  2. Competition, not monopoly, is the source of inovation and progress, so I think it`s not a good thing for us that any company "owns" the world. Companies that have monopoly, eventually become lazy inovators and are just interested in taking too much of our money. Just look at Canon.

  3. Few days ago I saw this video on Richard's Vimeo channel and I must say that this FF58 Quasi 1.5 ultra low contrast looks beautiful on A7S. The image has enough detail but still has that very soft and organic feel. The other great thing is that this is a rare occasion when even if the image looks almost washed out, to me it feels great just like it is and I wouldn't change it much in post. Great job Richard is all I can say, both filming and enginering.

  4. Why on earth would they put an organic sensor in this, when they have a perfectly good Super 35mm sensor to trickle down from the Varicam S35!?

The problem is that for Panasonic only PL mount makes sense with S35 sensor and that would not be a camera for lower end pro market then. If the rumors are true, I think they will announce AF100 succesor with maybe a brand new M4/3 sensor(could be 12 MPx insted of 16 in GH4) because they still want to sell lenses. I don't know, maybe Panny has some secret S35 plans with Leica :)

  5. For your pleasure I have uploaded the footage I took with the camera whilst I was in the camera store a couple weeks ago

    http://runwalrusrun.com/Nikon_d750_samples.zip

Shot with the Nikon 50mm f1.4. Various exposure settings. All on the default Flat profile. You can tweak the flat profile to be even flatter actually but I left it at the default. Noise reduction was switched off for all tests. Whitebalance was set manually too.

    Thanks, much appreciated.

  6. I'm happy to send some stuff your way. Anything in particular you would like to see or play with?

First of all, thank you Zach.

If I'm not asking to much, some nature/exterior, some interior(maybe iso 1600-3200) and some people would be great. Also would like to know your opinion about the camera.

  7. You may want to check Vimeo. Several guys were allowing this awhile back.

I check every few days and not so much uncorrected footage there. Best clips were from Gordon Laing shot in Brighton beach but maybe I missed some, I don't know.

I would like to see more and do some grading tests because I'm very interested in this camera.

  8. Can't wait to see if this stands up against the rest of the art line, price-wise and quality-wise. The canon 24 has been a favorite of mine to rent, but I'd buy this one right away if everything checks out.

They made excellent 4 of them, it would be a shame to break the routine :)

  9. Filmconvert has some good B&W profiles with different contrast levels. I use them often because they give me a little bit of that retro B&W feel.
