  1. More people are joining the club: @minibokeh from http://www.mu-43.com I'm having HUGE problems with jitter with my 35-100 f/2.8 on my GH4 (click to play): Unless we know that Panasonic is going to be able to help/fix the issue, I'm reluctant to send in the lens and have them sit on it and then send it back with "we couldn't find anything wrong". I'm 100% happy using it for stills, and without OIS video also works without issues.
  2. 200Mbs all-I is highly variable bitrate. Try shooting something with lots of random and sharp motion in frame. Why are you shooting with all-I anyway? It is the worst codec in GH4.
  3. FW 2.0 improved bitrates in 4k and fullhd to 97Mbs average (106Mbs peak). Can someone see the difference in iQ? It was earlier about 75-80Mbs.
  4. Here is a new test I made: MEGA OIS 14-42mm. POWER OIS 14-140mm. Both handheld at 14mm. Little vibration in POWER OIS but still big enough to ruin the shot:
  5. Hi What do you mean? I have not noticed that OIS goes off. When OIS is off image jitters even more handheld but that is handshake.
  6. One more unhappy from vimeo: Paul-Louis Pietz Pröve PLUS 4 hours ago Eric, thanks for sharing. The good news is that they're working on it, but the results aren't really improving anything up to this point. since you seem to be in contact with Panasonic, can you maybe hit them back with a couple of things? those being: -OIS works terrible with 14-140mm & 35-100mm lenses, because of jittering
  7. Is 4k downsampled to fullhd oversharp? I think that should be the goal for brand new expensive cameras. GH4, Sony RX10 or Canon C100 fullhd are sharp straight from camera. Not as good as 4k->2k but still good.
  8. The example video in the first page is soft too. I cant see nothing sharp. Maybe it is the shallow DOF or out of focus thing but I think the sensor is just soft. I cant see no texture in materials. Moire is well controlled if there are no texture to produce moire. It was the same thing with Canon 5 D mk3.
  9. From Slashcam a quick resolution test: http://www.slashcam.de/artikel/Kurztest/Die-Videoqualitaet-der-Nikon-D750--Preproduction--im-Sensor-Readout-Schaerfe-Check.html Not very sharp Compared to Sone RX10 and A5100 http://www.slashcam.de/artikel/Kurztest/Sony-Alpha-5100---Sensor-Readout-Schaerfe-Check.html Look how bad is the new Canon 7 D II http://www.slashcam.de/artikel/Kurztest/Die-Videoqualitaet-der-Canon-7D-Mk2-im-Sensor-Readout-Schaerfe-Check.html
  10. This is an example of the same jitter in 12-35mm 2.8 lens
  11. It is good that Panasonic hears our official complaints of POWER OIS lenses. I wish that everybody with these issues will send an email to Panasonic service. They may consider a FW fix if it is possible. I made my post too to Panasonic and the answer was like yours. Before fix the software stabilization is our way to go. I have got great results with Mercalli. The bad thing is that it changes GH4 0-255 files to 16-235.
  12. Better to answer own questions :) From one Sony AX100 selling page "Optical SteadyShot Image Stabilization w/ Active Mode: Optical SteadyShot Image Stabilization with Intelligent Active Mode is an advanced optical image stabilization technology that corrects camera shake to capture scenes with phenomenal smoothness and stability. Intelligent Active Mode analyzes video frames and provides compensation with assistance from the new BIONZ X image processing engine" So it is real time post processing. Why high power computers can not do that?
  13. I see some POWER OIS micro jittering in that sample video. Is Panasonic POWER OIS worse than other brands OIS systems?
  14. Does anyone know how electronic stab in camera works? Experts in my store said that those has a gyroscope or accelerometer. I dont think a camera has so much processing power to do it in real time by software. On the other hand why is there no real time stab programs for playing files with computer?
  15. Sony RX10 and Panasonic FZ1000 has also real time electronic stabilization. Does those use accelerometer too or is it possible to do it with analysing the video like real software stabilizators does?
  16. Can anybody see the famous micro jitter in this video with GH4 and 14-140 II handheld? If you cant see it I suggest to get better viewing equipment. Panasonic has a big issue here.
  17. Abnormal behaviour of me or of my lens? Or both :) I have found now so many people with this same issue that maybe it is time now to contact Panasonic. Thanks for link.
  18. What can I do. I have read many times that when people have complaint to service they usually get an answer that your device is working normally. I have visited 2 times the store i bought my GH4+lens kit. First time all experts was terrified of that jitter and promised to contact Panasonic. Second time about month later they said that it is probably normal behaviour of these lenses and Panasonic people has not answered to them anything else. I need that lens all the time. I can not leave it for repair. After long time they will return it and say it is working normally. My goal is to get this issue well known and then ask Panasonic to make a FW fix.
  19. I have no Adobe video software. The new Premier elements is worth trying I think.
  20. Downside may be that in video motion shows very soft without motion enhancement features. So your 4k res shrinks below 2k or even 1k when there is any motion in video. Is there any 4k TV capable of showing 60Hz computer signal?
  21. Mercalli V3 stabilizes nice multiple clips but there are issues: 1. When stabilizing multiple files Mercalli uses automatically values it wants for every clip. So I cant affect what it is doing. Usually it crops too much for my liking. 2. It renders GH4 0-255 files to 16-235 files so I loose a lot of color information. 3. There is no option to save my own stabilizing profiles for quick use. One option is learn to like that jittery and vibrating "look". After all many people still prefer 24P stuttering and juddering "look".
  22. I have been playing with Prodad Mercalli V3 tryout and my jittery 4k clips stabilizes nicely. It would be good if that program comes as a free extra when on buys a POWER OIS lens :)
  23. What lens? Your OIS is very bad if you cannot see any difference on/off. My OIS is smoothing big camera movement but adds jitter. Did you shoot handheld holding camera stationary. Look for very little and fast micro vibration.
  24. Thank you for supporting my crusade against Panasonic POWER OIS. We must ask for a FW update. How that can happen? These are very expensive lenses with "HD" video certification. It is not right to accept that kind of bad quality. I am just wondering why people cant see that issue with their lenses. Are they blind or do they think that handheld video can not be stable at all. By the way I made a review of my GH4/14-140 II kit to my stores web page about a month ago. Since then no one has bought that kit.
